enkelin 06-22-2006 05:07 PM

today I've been listening to The Exploding hearts. the sing 'Modern Kicks' knocks me off my feet.. everytime I listen to the song, It instantly forces me to dance <3

dei 06-22-2006 08:44 PM

I've only been listening to Tiger Trap and Go Sailor.

Daniel! 06-22-2006 08:47 PM

The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground and Nico
Ani DiFranco - Not A Pretty Girl
The Congos - Heart of the Congos

I was also over at a friend's house today and we listened to the Violent Femmes first album a few times and I was enjoying that. It's been a good summery music day.

cb240 06-22-2006 09:10 PM

Nothing against you or anything, but I hope Ani DiFranco dies today. Either that or stops making music/bad poetry.

el doctor 06-22-2006 09:24 PM

The Velvet Underground - Loaded

I love this album more and more as time goes on, especially during the summer. "Rock and Roll" demands the windows to be down, while "Oh! Sweet Nuthin'" drags you into the sunset.

I actually really enjoy that album. The poetry-type tracks are worthless but the majority of the songs are good.

BillCosby 06-22-2006 09:29 PM

Girl Talk - Night Ripper

Jacaranda 06-22-2006 09:39 PM

Oysterhead - The Grand Pecking Order
Its growing on me somehow.

Robert Crumb 06-22-2006 11:36 PM
♥♥♥
Yeah. There's only one bad song on s/t, "Chester." I get physically ill when I hear that song for some reason. Probably because it's horrible.

Little Man being Erased 06-22-2006 11:43 PM
^^ Highway 61 ftw
Yeah, that's my favourite too. But then again every Dylan album I have is awesome. Except for The Times They Are A-Changin'.

Dig:
Tom Waits - Closing Time
Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
The Drones - Wait Long by the River and the Bodies of Your Enemies Will Float By
The Smiths - Strangeways, Here We Come
Outkast - Stankonia

AFI - Decemberunderground

This kicks ass.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 06-23-2006 12:15 AM

TV On The Radio - Return To Cookie Mountain
Doormouse - The Album?
Tom Waits - Closing Time
James Figurine - Mistake Mistake Mistake Mistake
Nelly Furtado - Loose (Best pop album I've heard all year. Actually, make that the only pop album I've heard all year. It's goooood though. Timbaland is the best producer in pop, I swear.)

edit: didnt read the above post. closing time is there as well. coincidence.

cb240 06-23-2006 12:18 AM

How are you liking the Cookie Mountain? I'm still wavering on it.

asymm 06-23-2006 01:47 AM

Islan - Plans Drawn in Pencil

Little Man being Erased 06-23-2006 04:52 AM

Sonic Youth - Goo

Yeah so this is my first taste of a Sonic Youth album in full. After one listen I can safely say that it is some pretty great stuff. "Dirty Boots" and "Kool Thing" are fantastic.

Interstate 06-23-2006 04:54 AM

Day Of Defeat - Day Of Defeat
White Knuckle Blackout - Demo
Fear No Fish - Demo
DCFC - ...Facts
The Magnetic Fields - Get Lost (well what I have of it anyway)
The Delgados

The first three bands on that list are bands from my college that I used to go to. The first two are generic but listenable metal bands and the third is a really cool pop-punk trio with two vocalists, (they're twin brothers) sort of in the vein of Alkaline Trio/Bayside.

Little Man being Erased 06-23-2006 05:52 AM

Bruce Springsteen - The Wild, The Innocent and the E Street Shuffle

The Boss. At first, not what I expected, but it's great nonetheless.

Little Man being Erased 06-23-2006 06:09 AM

stop copying me bitch.

Bukowski 06-23-2006 10:10 AM

Goo is neat. But Sister is certainly not 'eh'.

Flaming Lips - Clouds Taste Metallic
Pale Saints - Comforts of Madness
Pavement - Terror Twilight

sketchyjoe 06-23-2006 11:45 AM

Oblivion - Suckers From the Start

Great punk rock.

Interstate 06-23-2006 11:47 AM

The Reindeer Section - Son Of Evil Reindeer
The Bronx - La Muerta Viva EP
The Promise Ring - Nothing Feels Good

Good mix of stuff.

La Revolucion 06-23-2006 11:54 AM

Murder By Death - In Bocca Al Lupo

Not as good as their second one, but still great.

Bukowski 06-23-2006 12:09 PM

Yo La Tengo - I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One

This album is unbelievably great. There's not a bad song, and I love how lo-fi it is. Every time I listen to it it just gets better and better. I can't wait for the new YLT album.

if you like that, you'll love their other stuff. try "Sonic Nurse" and "Sister". "Goo" is a great album, but doesn't go as deep as the others.

Zappa 06-23-2006 12:39 PM

Yeah, Goo is probably my least favorite SY record out of it and Daydream Nation, Sister, Sonic Nurse, and EVOL.

Daydream Nation is amazing.

asymm 06-23-2006 01:02 PM

These both arrived today, so they will be what I'm diggin'

Information - Biomekano
Helios - Eingya
Murder By Death - In Bocca Al Lupo

Not as good as their second one, but still great.
What's it like compared to Who Will Survive...? (it's the only one I own by them) - I'm listening to it now.

Happymeal 06-23-2006 04:07 PM

Pavement - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain
Spank Rock - Yo Yo Yo Yo Yo

The latter is sort of reminiscent of N.E.R.D, cept the guy doesn't sing and the lyrics are a lot more.. vivid.

ihatemybass 06-23-2006 04:25 PM

King Crimson as of now.

Wow, this is amazing.
