I'm not sure what that extended version of Stinkfist is (I'm downloading now), but if its the same as the OK video, the extended part is from an Elvis song called Suspicous Minds.

Spiritofmosa 11-07-2005 10:52 PM

check this , hope it works http://www.bandsvideos.com/download-apc-pittsburgh.htm

Dr. Jake Destructo 11-07-2005 10:52 PM

I don't think that's it. I thought that Maynard substituted the lyrics from Suspicious minds into the verse of Stinkfist or something. This version actually has an added riff, but I could be wrong. They could be one in the same.

EDIT: So I just listened to The 81st Chakra again. It's thenewtoolsingle for those who don't remember. I forgot how hilarious it was.

Magicaltroll 11-08-2005 10:43 PM

New Tool single?
Huh?

Darkness 11-08-2005 11:11 PM

Yeah man, 81st Chakra. Great track.

Dr. Jake Destructo 11-08-2005 11:16 PM

Someone has to upload that. It's basically a joke track someone made poking fun at Tool.

Darkness 11-08-2005 11:17 PM

I will, tomorrow.

deadline666 11-08-2005 11:33 PM

I'm pretty sure Die Eier Von Satan has the most meaningful lyrics I've ever heard.

And I'm going to try and make the cookies...without hash though:upset:

ThunderBass 11-09-2005 07:35 AM

if it doesnt work are you going to complain? lol can see it now...

"Tool receive angry fanmail due to hash cookies not coming out according to plan, recipe spoken in german blamed"

dUSK 11-09-2005 09:19 AM

^ Where in Brisbane are you from?

clearvision, sorry to come across as such a picky bastard the other day. No hard feelings. :)

Darkness 11-09-2005 04:18 PM

Hey guys. Still, it seems there is nonew Tool news.

I got bored in American Government class today, like always, and I wrote a poem. Maybe I'll sparsely use it in some lyrics for a song I'm writing. Tell me what you think.

"Neon in the horizon

One never smelt the dew-scented perfume

Optimistic of pessimism

Exorbitant ties can never decipher:

The plan

The idea

Now forgotten"

Thanks man. I'm getting my band started up, and I wanna get my writing skills up, along with my vocals(I would like to sing....who know where that is going? Haha)

I haven't gotten to listen to the stuff yet, other than the Converge. They're pretty sweet.

I'm making a birthday list of cd's right now. So far, I've got:

The Dillinger Escape Plan - Calculating Infinity
The Dillinger Escape Plan - Irony is a Dead Scene
Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come: A Chimerical Bombation
Death - Individual Thought Patterns
The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium
Bring me the Horizon - This is what the edge of the seat was made for
Isis - Panopticon(Still considering Oceanic, but not sure)
Unearth - The Oncoming Storm
Pelican - The Fire in our Throats will Beckon the Thaw

Still adding....

repcak 11-09-2005 05:31 PM

and i already thought thats a real song from tool... just another fake :upset:

Go with Oceanic by Isis, it's really great.
And that looks like a pretty cool list.

I'm getting the Animal Cruelty band together also, and I'm gonna be the singer, it's gonna be so fun, because I love screaming my head off :D

Go for Oceanic. It has "The Other" and "Hym" on it. Enough said.

K. I probably will.

Good luck with the Animal Cruelty thing man. From what I've heard, its been sounding really awesome. I'm not really sure on what I'm trying to get my band to sound like. I want like a mix of Hardcore, Metal(Death, MElodic death, Post, maybe some doom), wrap it in some prog, and maybe throw in some jazz interludes. And lots of breakdowns!

I really want to sing. Its always been a little secret dream of mine. I just need to work on it...all. And get a good scream aswell. I hope I can do it. Out of all the singing 'candidates' for the band, I truely believe I have the most potential, but that's just me. I guess we'll see how it goes.

Same here, I love showing people what I'm capable of, and I think showing emotion through screaming is one of the coolest things a person can do. Screaming in a band of course though

But yeah, bands like Pig Destroyer, Converge, All Else Failed, and other metalcore bands do that great. And I want the intensity of their shows in one of mine, and I think I can do that ;)

Good luck with everything though. And thanks for the compliments, they mean alot.

Well, I like the first two lines, but the third is a bit cliched and doesn't seem to fit well. You might want to try and rewrite it somehow. Opposites shouldn't really be used that close together, except in some special cases.
The next part sounds almost Opeth-ish, but I don't think I dig the list thing. Consider something like messing around with the order; "The plans and ideas now forgotten, exorbitant ties cannot decipher." Or something to that effect.
Just some suggestions though...

Hope this helps :)

Very cool. I especially like the tone of the second part of the poem. It's similar to the way I write when I do write poetry, which is not very often at all.

EDIT: Otherside gave some useful advice. Keep the tone and ideas of the poem, work on the diction. :)

Dude3 11-09-2005 06:10 PM

Cool, thanks.

I agree with the 3rd line. I don't like it.
Personally, I agree with Kage on the 2nd part. I like to write like that. That's kinda how I would write lyrics to a song, and I try to sometimes think of a poem in a song's setting.

Thanks man!

bwnstl 11-09-2005 06:19 PM

What other albums by Opeth should I get besides Ghost Reveries?

repcak 11-09-2005 06:22 PM

My favourites are "Still Life" and "Morningside".

but you better ask in the Opeth-Thread...

Darkness 11-09-2005 06:25 PM

Blackwater Park to.

Dr. Jake Destructo 11-09-2005 10:40 PM

I like to write poetry, but I prefer free prose. I always tell my self to write in some wierd artsy mode, but in the end, it always ends up being me writing in first person about some cliched topic. :upset:

Kage 11-09-2005 10:47 PM

I have one poem that I've written that I'm really proud of. It's just kind of free form. I never write to a certain set of guidlines or form. I wait until I have a certain emotion, and one phrase or word that I really like and then build it around those two things. Sometimes it's good, most times it's not.

repcak 11-10-2005 05:09 AM

would you mind to post the poem?

Otherside 11-10-2005 05:58 AM

I'm not too great at poetry, but if I'm ever inspired I do try and write some of my thoughts down in free-form, just to remember what I felt at that time.

Reywas 11-10-2005 05:59 AM

please post the poem

I'm not a big poet but i really like to write a lot of stuff, this is one of my best and the longest poem i've ever written.

Tool Question:

In the 2002 Oklahoma Live Show, during Reflection(on part 2), MJK is playing an instrument. What is it?

Sorry, I thought it didn't work, because my friend said there was an error, so I thought it expired.

Turns out he didn't put the "tt" in there :/

Sorry?

dUSK 11-10-2005 03:53 PM

 Nah thats cool.

Until last week you were my closest musical neighbour on last.fm

/random info

Magicaltroll 11-10-2005 04:11 PM

Yeah, I remember that.
I've been listening to alot of Brutal Death/Metalcore stuff lately, so maybe that's why?

dUSK 11-10-2005 04:12 PM

I'd assume so, although now I have intentions of giving Pig Destroyer a good listen.
