Who here has seen the Arnold movie Jingle All the Way? The one with Sinbad? I saw it last night, and it has to be the most hilariously politically incorrect children's movie ever.

SonorKen 01-30-2005 08:45 PM

Cool Avatar Ripper. Hey guys, dont beg for rep here, they do that stuff in the Pit. This is the COMMUNITY thread!

A little tip for you drummers. If you want to increase your double bass footing pattern ability, practice playing rudiments with your feet!

Cain 01-30-2005 08:48 PM

Many thanks, SK. :)

Sounds like a really good idea. The only one I can think to do is RLRR LRLL. Any others I should try?

yeh I practice that quite often, in hopes to make my double-bass better. But I struggle greatly with it, just not meant for it I guess like I've said before.

I have. Cinematic gold, though it's not one of the Austrian Oak's philosophical greats.

Anyway, this sucks. A lot. I "went to bed" almost two hours ago now, and I haven't been able to get to sleep :(

try a double Paradiddle roll, and then a triple Paradiddle roll

So like this:

Double = LRLRLL RLRLRR
Triple = LRLRLRLL RLRLRLRR

I'm sure you couldv'e figured it out without my examples, but I put them just in case

Yeah, I think you spelled it right. The fact that you know RLRR LRLL is a paradiddle shows you know more than most the people I know.

All it takes is practice. Lame advice, but still very true.

quoted for tr00th.

Sorry about that inability to sleep bit...matters are never helped by myself in such situations, as I stay up late, consistently get thirsty by 1 in the morning, and have a soda, thus prolonging my awakeness by another hour and a half or so.

yeh, I've got basically everything else down, like I'm a student teacher at a Music School now (have been for about 7 months), but the only thing I have to semi-master now is double-pedal, which is taken longer than I was hoping :mad:

Yep, I've had a shower and started browsing MX, I've got my covers and things off the bed, in an attempt to cool it down and make it more comfortable.. I have a lecture at 10am though (it's 3am now).

Wow, that's pretty cool. I would love to teach. It seems like such a good way to make a career out of music while waiting for something a bit better to come by.

Yeah. I tried to, but whatever he was doing had cut off the bottom of the page, so I couldn't Edit his post. I was halfway through typing that up to explain why I couldn't do it in here, when I remember another way of doing it, and went back only to find it had already been done.

I'll be sure to tell my drummer this, even though he's already ****ing nuts, and probably already knows this :-/
