Brief Candles - They Live, We Sleep
Haha, wow. My friend's brother is the drummer for this band. I've seen them practice in his basement before. I know they toured the west coast recently, did you see them on that tour?

Diggage:
Susanna and the Magical Orchestra - "Love Will Tear Us Apart Again"
Track off their upcoming Melody Mountain record in August.

Yeah, it's quite new. They finished that record around February or so. It's also - not their debut. They have a self-titled album.
Magazine has two remarkable post-punk classics.
I realized I didn't have Magazine's second album. I just got it, and it's great. So make that 3.

Why does it seem the post-punk bands only ever have a handful of albums?

pixiesfanyo 06-21-2006 11:12 AM
When's the new album due?
Fall.

Because they are smart, and realize when they should stop.

Dangerdoom - The Mouse & The Mask - I'm starting to finally tolerate, and maybe even like MF Doom.

asdf 06-21-2006 11:53 AM
The Avalanches - Since I Left You

pretty good.
I love the video for that song.

Cool. Give me his number.

I didn't catch them. It hurt my heart.

I'm trying to learn more easy songs in which I can play guitar and sing at the same time without screwing up to develop my skillz... so I've been playing the hell out of Electric Wizard's "Wizard in Black" along to the CD

Other than that:

Comets on Fire - Avatar (it really is pretty freakin good)
Toby Driver - In the L... L... Library Loft

I really like "Accordion."

Boris- Pink

I dont really know what I like about it, but I just cant seem to stop listening to it. maybe its because this is my first experience listening to drone metal or whatever this genre is called. I've also decided that the only reason anyone ever makes comparisons between them and My Bloody Valentine is because they both have guitars and pink album covers.

Kyle 06-21-2006 01:55 PM

I just got into Boris this week, such an awesome band!
You should listen to Cougars.
Will do. Any albums in particular?

Tangy zizzle 06-21-2006 03:37 PM

Nice, Nice. They sound sorta like a RFTC/Black Flag hybrid, with a good dose of Queens' thrown in the mix. They're pretty good, but nothing fantastic.

6Stringer 06-21-2006 03:44 PM

I've been digging Death for some reason. I woke up this morning and thought that I should listen to Death's The Sound of Perserverance to wake up. It's a great Death Metal CD worth checking out.

Robert Crumb 06-21-2006 03:47 PM

Dr. Octagon and The Nails. Remixes of the former, Mood Swing by the latter. Mood Swing is ok, new-wave stuff. The title track and "88 Lines About 44 Women" are the best, "88" makes me think of Magnetic Fields big time. As for the Doc Ock remixes, pretty neat. Check 'em out here.

Same here, that whole album is so good. Except for that lame song where its like "slow it up, speed it up".

Zebra 06-21-2006 05:02 PM

cLOUDDEAD - cLOUDDEAD

This is better then Endtroducing.

Them's fightin words. I like that album too but the nasally vocals kind of ruin it for me.

Mr Observations 06-21-2006 05:04 PM

Cap'n Jazz - Analpha-etc
Guided By Voices - Alien Lanes
Charles Bronson - Discography
This Heat - Deceit

The only stuff that can come close to/equal Endtroducing is One Word Extinguisher.

Fail. And I don't even like Endtroducing all that much.
