Burzum for black metal material, Bathory's later material isn't comparable though.

masscows 08-17-2009 09:04 PM

I like Burzum more.

RetiredAt21 08-17-2009 09:46 PM

I like Burzum more, too.

Angmar 08-17-2009 09:47 PM

Silenius 08-17-2009 10:46 PM
Well no one understands Brenoritvrezorkre, either.
I think everyone beside you understands them just fine.

Not really. Correct continent.

FatalEnergy 08-18-2009 01:45 AM
for Bathory get the first 5 and if you want more stuff that sounds like Hammerheart get Blood On Ice and Nordland I
Don't leave out Twilight of the Gods you fag. That's the best viking album.

Morumbar 08-18-2009 04:24 AM

Burzum's s/t is pretty sick.

Never really listened to Bathory. What album would your recommend?

Silenius 08-18-2009 04:50 AM

The Return......

My personal favorite.

Morumbar 08-18-2009 06:34 AM

I'll check out The Return and Blood Fire Death soon. Thanks.
Don't leave out Twilight of the Gods you fag. That's the best viking album.
only listened to it twice, the first time it almost put me to sleep and the second time was to make sure i wasn't just in a bad listening mood the first time through but it still bored me pretty bad

negrodamus 08-18-2009 09:41 AM

Does anyone actually enjoy Rundgang um die transzendentale Säule der Singularität (the long *** ambient track) on Filosofem?

I mean, it's ok, but it just kinda drags the whole album down.

nator 08-18-2009 09:45 AM

its better than his black metal stuff

negrodamus 08-18-2009 09:49 AM

False.

RetiredAt21 08-18-2009 09:50 AM
False.
Backed.

You sir need to change that! Title track is one of the best songs ever.

I think that song, along with Tomhet, is great. I much prefer it to Gebrechlichkeit I and II.

masscows 08-18-2009 09:37 PM

Tomhet is one of Burzum's best songs. Don't like the one on Filosofem, would be good if it was half the length.

rasputin 08-18-2009 10:38 PM

it's good to zone out

FatalEnergy 08-18-2009 10:48 PM

Both Gebrechlichkeit tracks are cool, but yeah...that one 25 minute song is just too long.

RouteOne 08-18-2009 10:57 PM

Anyone into Bilskirnir? Just got done listening to his split with Finsterwald and it was pretty good.

Nostalgia 08-18-2009 11:02 PM

yeah he has some catchy stuff. its actually all right quality for nsbm too.

for victory we ride is his best work tbh

RouteOne 08-18-2009 11:05 PM

Agreed.

illmitch 08-18-2009 11:10 PM

yeah for victory we ride rules. i like bilskirnir a lot. to me they have a kinda epic sound which i dig.

Nostalgia 08-18-2009 11:15 PM

Yeah, and it's rare to find a band with lo-fi production that can really create something epic. Kinda like Moonblood, but in a better way.

Revenge is an awesome song too.

illmitch 08-18-2009 11:24 PM

yeah i was gonna compare them to moonblood. love that band.

RouteOne 08-18-2009 11:38 PM

I always meant to listen to moonblood. Recommendation on their best work?

gregulus 08-19-2009 12:03 AM

Blut und Krieg, Ron.

Tyler 08-19-2009 12:52 AM

just got some fourth way 'indie' black metal stuff with dan deacon's touring drummer

they cite vlad tepes and nusrat fateh ali khan as influences

wut

illmitch 08-19-2009 12:59 AM

haha that sounds...interesting

Jotun35 08-19-2009 03:22 AM

I've received the new Rotting Christ DVD (Non Serviam - A 20 Year Apocryphal Story) last weak... And it's a good one (and a good deal too, I've bought 2 DVD and 2 CD with a beautiful packaging for 12 euros :naughty:) ! The packaging is really nice, the show is great (with an excellent setlist : there is a plenty of "old" songs, so it's cool to hear this with a "modern" sound in live conditions) and there is the same show on 2 CD (with in bonus few tracks of a show at Larissa).
If you're a fan, it's a must have.

BillEco 08-19-2009 04:54 AM

I bought it when it came out. For some reason it was meditative listening to it while doing homework for school.

Silenius 08-19-2009 05:42 AM
Blut und Krieg, Ron.
Seconded.

rasputin 08-19-2009 07:50 AM
