"Mock The Cross" on Bloodbaths Myspace homepage is really good... reminds me a little bit of Morbid Angel (the slower part); I like it.

masscows 09-10-2008 04:26 PM

That song is pretty good but the album is boring

Angmar 09-10-2008 04:27 PM

I don't really like Bloodbath so I don't think I'll get it.

masscows 09-10-2008 04:27 PM

I don't either but I got it anyway. It's bleeehhhhhh.

keyboardxmosh 09-10-2008 04:43 PM

bloodbath's last ep, their demo, and some songs on their first two albums are awesome, but it just seems like they're trying too hard to just write death metal and not write actually good death metal.

just my two cents.

masscows 09-10-2008 04:46 PM

The EP was pretty solid but nothing amazing, I haven't heard their other stuff aside from a few songs.

keyboardxmosh 09-10-2008 04:49 PM

the ep's pretty sweet imo

Eliminator 09-10-2008 04:53 PM

bloodbath are sweet in short spurts but otherwise zzZzZzz

its weird seeing akerfeldt without a guitar

Deth 09-10-2008 04:54 PM
the ep's pretty sweet imo
Yeah, that and the first EP are killer.

rasputin 09-10-2008 06:03 PM

Although I really like the new album, I have to agree with Elim in that I can't listen to the whole thing at once without getting bored (about the new album).
Yeah, that and the first EP are killer.
The first EP is fantastic.

adb 09-10-2008 06:32 PM

definitely the new Bloodbath is something I'll just listen to once in while

keyboardxmosh 09-10-2008 06:56 PM

this post is entirely truth
Yeah, that and the first EP are killer.
im glad we can agree for once qt

also, imo, the best aspect to bloodbath has always been the vocals

Deth 09-10-2008 07:57 PM

I don't understand why Mikael's vocals on the new Bloodbath are like 10000X better than his growls on the new Opeth though.

keyboardxmosh 09-10-2008 08:05 PM

its the way his vocals were recorded

Deth 09-10-2008 08:08 PM

oic

ur so smart

keyboardxmosh 09-10-2008 08:18 PM

yep :)

cuz u jelos

RouteOne 09-10-2008 08:37 PM

I like the new bloodbath, I agree that its sort of a snooze fest after a while though

rasputin 09-10-2008 08:39 PM

it doesn't beat the new Arghoslent or Dead Congregation's Graves of the Archangels for dm of the year

keyboardxmosh 09-10-2008 08:40 PM

except the dm album of the year is gonna be the red shore's new album

rasputin 09-10-2008 08:41 PM

probably not, but you can think so if you want mappy

RouteOne 09-10-2008 08:42 PM

wasn't really into congregation's new stuff. I have to listen to it more though.
except the dm album of the year is gonna be the red shore's new album
they're not dm

rasputin 09-10-2008 08:43 PM

It took me a couple of listens to like it, but that was probably because when I first listened to it I was really sick and had migraines, so the murkiness of it just didn't sit well with me. it's great now though.

adb 09-10-2008 08:43 PM
except the dm album of the year is gonna be the red shore's new album
nothing will beat shades, it's mosh-riffment won't be beat

keyboardxmosh 09-10-2008 08:50 PM

except maybe the red shore!
they're not dm
uh? what?

http://myspace.com/theredshore

definitely death metal

RouteOne 09-10-2008 08:51 PM

maybe if you consider scenesters pretending to play dm to be dm

keyboardxmosh 09-10-2008 08:51 PM

or maybe if you can make a distinction between haircut and musical genre...

RouteOne 09-10-2008 08:52 PM

nah

rasputin 09-10-2008 08:52 PM

or maybe you should get a haircut

lets say for arts sake

we killed ourselves tonight

in our dreams we could live forever

immortalised in our beauty

dont say i didnt warn you, beauty can be revearsed

expose to me, the heart strings deep within

until it bleeds

for one day of beauty

you pinned your hopes, upon the mirror and now it cuts your skin

shattered by your own reflection

do you recall your own ****ing face

she looked so beuatifull, fashioned in her own dispair

a fitting end to fashion

her source of suicide

beneath the veil of make up, your soul has slowly died

an endless wave of matyrs, dressed in a sea of black

to serenade the serpents, this scene has turned its back

feel this shatter

to the ground

your misfortunes i resound

so clean yourself up bitch

the fragments you savour

are bareley held together

your basis for reason, compounded by the seasons

i suffered the arrows, your heart a formless shadow

beneath the lies, your wings have been dissected

from this fashion, the dead arise

and with its failure, we breath new life.

From Wisdom to Hate is so much better than Obscura.

i didn't realize there were other people out there who understand that bloodbath are ****ing clown shoes.
From Wisdom to Hate is so much better than Obscura.
i haven't heard FWTH so i'm skeptical based on how good Obscura is. I'm going to have to check that one out.

It's amazing

and I'm with rasputin, Dead Congregation's and Arghoslent's new albums will not be beaten this year. Anata's and Cynic's new albums will probably be good though.

rasputin 09-10-2008 09:16 PM

oh I forgot about Cynic. That'll be sweet.

rattlehead42147 09-10-2008 09:22 PM

odd, cause i've never heard anyone praise it until now. speaking of Gorguts does anyone like Martyr? they've got Dan Mongrain, i like 'em. vocals took some getting used to though.

New Cynic will slay, even though i'm weary of the softer sections (ie 1:53 or so in Integral Birth), i'm hoping Tymon Krudenier's fanboyism of Cynic and background with Exivious is enough to even out the aggressive/passive ratio of the album.
