Yeah, idk what that could be. But why in god's name would you export to mp3 if you were going to keep working with it? Ugh.
We only exported it for a scratch track so that I could record some other guitar tracks at home. He's doing all the mixing at his place and sending over huge .wav files was unnecessary.

BenJammin 03-25-2012 10:59 PM

That's fair. I'd just have a hard time getting "into it" with an mp3, even for recording demos.

It's especially hard when your mp3 is a semitone up from your in-hand instrument. ;)

gaslight 03-26-2012 08:15 PM

Just do your writing a semi-tone higher you pussy.

fatbandit 03-27-2012 11:57 AM

Or use a plugin and drop the track down a semitone. I'm sure most DAWs don't even need an outside plugin.

BenJammin 03-27-2012 02:05 PM

Tenor guitar is here. Just on my way to pick it up. Pics, initial impressions, and maybe some sound clips to follow.

FunkMetalBass 03-28-2012 09:26 AM

What are your initial impressions? Got any sound clips? What's the tuning?

BenJammin 03-28-2012 10:18 AM

The tuning is CGDA, like a cello. The A is a fifth above the high E on a guitar.

Initial impressions are excellent. The thing is built quite well. I am especially impressed with the tuners and the bridge. The neck is comfortable, the string spacing is definitely better suited to bass players than guitarists. The pickup is hot as hell. Running it through my roommate's tube amp, I had this thing screaming.

Recordings at some point. I bought some new recording hardware, as well (thank you, tax return), but I'm having trouble getting my laptop to recognize my drivers for it.

BenJammin 03-28-2012 10:25 PM

No recordings for the foreseeable future. Hardware doesn't work properly (drivers cause fatal error). Fucking pissed.

Mr. Pickle 03-29-2012 01:19 AM

Basses are still cool, guys.

gaslight 03-29-2012 04:18 AM

Basses were the first cool instrument and remain the instrument of choice for serious pimps the world over.

Buy a Mac?

BenJammin 03-31-2012 09:44 AM

Sigh. I used to have one. Had it for 4 years, and after a series of harddrive failures, I thought I'd go back to Windows so I could get a laptop that could game, as well. Sorely wishing I had bought another Mac instead. In another 2-3 years maybe, but I'm stuck with this thing for now.

FunkMetalBass 04-02-2012 10:21 AM

Just got back from a math conference last night. It was kind of cool. I think next year I'm going to give a talk while I'm there.

BenJammin 04-02-2012 06:00 PM

Did you get... *puts on sunglasses* anyone's number?

YYYYEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHH

I also had the luxury of staying at a hotel that was closing for renovation for a year. As a result, the hotel bar had to close and was anxious to unload all of their alcohol. $1 well drinks and $2 ANYTHING else. Needless to say, many glasses of Glenlivet, Ketel One, Patron, and top-shelf Long Island Iced Teas were constantly heading toward our table. I think I was solely responsible for opening and emptying the entire bottle of Ketel One during my two nights there. So worth it.

:chug:

FunkMetalBass 04-11-2012 12:38 PM

Ordered the last few parts that I'll be needing for my sub-contra P-bass. I'm quite excited for this beast. :)

FunkMetalBass 04-11-2012 12:52 PM

Well, this quad-coil pickup/5-way rotary switch is a bit of a PITA to wire up. I'm not sure where my wiring has gone wrong. I may just have to have the shop do it when they route and install the bridge humbucker.

FunkMetalBass 04-13-2012 09:12 AM

Damn I love a good kosher pickle.

Need some tits in this thread.

I bet I could, and no moderators would notice for at least a month.

Not the biggest boobs, but I find Rashida Jones to be insanely attractive.

But for those of you who like boobz and Kate Upton, I'll continue on with my gif reputation:
i did not know of this 'kate upton'. i feel i have been missing out.
She's a 19 (or maybe 20?) year old American model who has been the latest craze for the past year after she got the coveted Sport Illustrated Swimsuit cover in 2011.

There's also this video:

So I finished a new piece. Because no one will likely listen to it, I also offer a picture of Kate Upton.
