I've been thinking about this for some time now..

-work independently on layers of: intstruments/sections/transitions/lyrics/vocals
-send as .wav or a high quality format on sendspace and other services
-dont worry about incompleteness so much since there are other people, just get the part sounding good
-one person should mix it in the end a few times and then we can agree on a general idea
-repeat ad infinitum until a few songs comes out

the important part is just constantly sending things back and forth

its like cascade of remixes

yeah it could definitely work

just requires patience
