Electrocution 12-27-2006 07:43 PM

_Mote_ 12-27-2006 07:45 PM

Meat Puppets - Meat Puppets II

Such a great record.

ATM 12-27-2006 07:53 PM

Jacaranda 12-27-2006 07:58 PM

_Mote_ 12-27-2006 08:00 PM

Happymeal 12-27-2006 08:09 PM

ATM 12-27-2006 08:13 PM

Alright, gonna give this a whirl.
Do you like Jakob dude?
I do, I do indeed. Really good band - one of the only "post rock" bands that I can stomach. Whysat?

Eliminator 12-27-2006 10:03 PM

The song "Little Boys".

i can relate

_Mote_ 12-27-2006 10:11 PM

Mono Men - "Wrecker!"

Good garage rock.

ATM 12-27-2006 10:12 PM

Amesoeurs - Ruines Humaines

this rules

I've been listening to them a lot and I saw that they're supporting Isis in your country and then I remembered you mentioned them once. Are you going to Isis?

Montana 12-27-2006 10:36 PM

Rocky Votolato - Makers

I'm in love with his voice

class 12-27-2006 11:00 PM

I love Votolato...I think Suicide Medicine is better than Makers..
ok fuck everything else I've been listening to

Geisha - Mondo Dell'orrore

short, fast metal songs buried in disgusting amounts of white noise and feedback. This is great, I am happy.

http://www.myspace.com/geishanoiseresearchgroup

listen to "Geisha vs. Mechachrist" and you can be happy too.
Is this sarcasm or are you serious?

YDload 12-27-2006 11:03 PM

i like votolato's voice too. he writes good songs i guess :)

class 12-27-2006 11:04 PM

His music is addictive..

edit dmd: just curious...

Yeah if I have money at the time I'll definately go. It's gonna be a busy month for me if I go - Kasabian sidey, BDO,BDO after party, Roger Waters, Isis, Calexico, The Bronx and poss. Joanna Newson, all in the space of a month (ish).

class 12-27-2006 11:14 PM

ugh they suck dmd...well they might be good for whatever they're playing I guess...I'm not into it

YDload 12-27-2006 11:50 PM

i saw roger waters (dad wanted me and my bros to go so i did) and he did pretty well. the traditional flying pig balloon got untethered and escaped. fun times.

class 12-28-2006 12:08 AM

reminds me of that simpsons episode

I've wanted to see Pink Floyd live ever since I was about 6, and I've seen tribute shows (full one ones) before and now this is the closest I'm ever gonna get to seein' them in the flesh (see what I did there?) - I'm pretty damm excited, and so's the Old Man.

br3ad_man 12-28-2006 02:57 AM

wait what

Calexico?

I probably won't get to see The Bronx, they're playing a $70 festival with a bunch of shitty pop-punk bands.

FA 12-28-2006 03:06 AM

calex + newsom = woo

br3ad_man 12-28-2006 04:52 AM

I'm seeing Joanna Newsom with a friend from school and possibly my English teacher from last year. Should be pretty great.

bmxrunner 12-28-2006 06:54 AM

Jeff Buckley

AlienEater 12-28-2006 10:29 AM

Dinosaur Jr - J Mascis Live at CBGB's: The First Acoustic Show

This is actually pretty good.

asymm 12-28-2006 11:17 AM

Melvins - Houdini

Which Melvins should I go to from here?

AlienEater 12-28-2006 11:26 AM

Stag

ATM 12-28-2006 05:03 PM

The new one rules too.

Yea Nacho this LCD Soundsystem is pretty sweet, I never heard the earlier one that people said was bad so I was listening with fresh ears.

Glitterati 12-28-2006 05:10 PM

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy - Live

If any of you are into swing/big band revival bands, check them out. Incredible live show.

br3ad_man 12-28-2006 05:54 PM

Low - Long Division
Philip Glass - Glassworks
Scarface - The Diary
Converge - Jane Doe

I picked up the Scarface record secondhand for $5 because I remember it being mentioned on here. It's awesome, like NWA without the cheese or something.

The Jungler 12-28-2006 09:48 PM
Philip Glass - Glassworks
I've had this record sitting at the foot of my bass amp forever and I still haven't listened to it.

I guess I probably should one of these days.

pixiesfanyo 12-28-2006 11:54 PM

Yeah man it's one of the best things ever.

Zmev 12-29-2006 12:30 AM

Bonnie Prince Billy - I See a Darkness

Am I supposed to do some ritual to enjoy this or something?

asymm 12-29-2006 02:47 AM
Bonnie Prince Billy - I See a Darkness

This record is painstakingly perfect.

Continued with my metal kick:
Boris - Pink
Melvins - Houdini
Mastodon - Blood Mountain

Little Man being Erased 12-29-2006 02:52 AM

All Springsteen, all the time.

Glitterati 12-29-2006 03:25 AM

I think Little Man and I are two of the few Springsteen fans here.

Sigur Ros - ()

It's a type of music that makes you want to completely give up because you know in your heart you will never produce anything as heart-wrenchingly beautiful as this.

FA 12-29-2006 03:28 AM

Sigur Ros gets old..fast

I Was A Kaleidoscope 12-29-2006 04:27 AM

Sigur Ros is good but I only listen to them occasionally now.

I See A Darkness is not good!

That's one of the so called great records that I couldn't get into. And I like almost anything.
...what about it am I missing?

I listened to it a few times but it seemed boring.
And I listen to a lot of music some people would consider a lot more boring than that.
So...I dunno.

i am digging:
Hot Snakes - Audit In Progress
Envy - Insomniac Dose
Do Make Say Think - You, You're A History In Rust
!!! - Myth Takes
Deerhoof - Apple O'
Belle & Sebastian - Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like A Peasant
Girl Talk - Night Ripper
