I got nothing.

BenJammin 03-16-2012 05:37 PM

I was thinking I'll leave this forum at a proper 25,000 posts, but at this rate, it's going to take me another 2 years to reach that. :-/

fatbandit 03-17-2012 09:06 AM

Spam the casual like people did on the olden days?

Bahahaha. Awesome.

Sablate McNuff 03-17-2012 02:08 PM

Well, I finally pulled the trigger on the PCB for this:

http://buildyourownclone.com/dividedoctave.html

It should be here sometime next week, giving me just enough time to build it and play with it before school starts back up.

funkyhoney 03-17-2012 07:11 PM

Oh, no one leaves... The forum.

gaslight 03-18-2012 06:12 AM

I think I'll retire at 30,000.

Sablate McNuff 03-18-2012 10:14 AM

So, I never understood the appeal of Porcupine Tree. I bought their album On the Sunday of Life and have been significantly underwhelmed every time I listened to it. It's like early Pink Floyd.

Then I discovered In Absentia. This band is way cooler than I thought!

FunkMetalBass 03-20-2012 11:23 AM

Spent a good portion of my day making a pickguard template for my dual-humbucker, octave-below P-bass. The pickguard material should be here in a couple of days so that I can finish it and get to wiring that beastly quad-coil pickup!

BenJammin 03-20-2012 12:07 PM

I am going to order one of these bitches today.

BenJammin 03-20-2012 12:08 PM

lol big picture.

don't care.

FunkMetalBass 03-20-2012 12:16 PM

wtf is that and why are the strings so tiny?

BenJammin 03-20-2012 12:22 PM

It's a tenor guitar, tuned in 5ths.

FunkMetalBass 03-20-2012 12:39 PM

That's cool. Are the strings as close together as a guitar? They look like they have bass spacing.

BenJammin 03-20-2012 12:48 PM

I'm not entirely sure. Probably somewhere in between the two, I would guess.

BenJammin 03-20-2012 05:10 PM

And ordered. Should have it within 2 weeks.

Cramboli 03-20-2012 05:45 PM

Not too bad, just had to check youtube for some videos, due to the link on the site having something to do with copyright infringement or some BS. Sounds pretty good for a tenor, a pretty standard size, and an alright price for it too. Post pics and/or videos when you get it, I'd love to see a more updated version (video wise)

BenJammin 03-20-2012 06:07 PM

Most of the YouTube videos sound pretty crap, so I'm buying it mostly on good faith and the recordings I've heard Warren use it on.

I'll put up some clips once I get my recording stuff worked out.

Cramboli 03-20-2012 06:23 PM

Yeah that's what I was getting at with the up to date on video, youtube has slowly but surely gaining better methods of Audio/video compression, even 2 years ago it wasn't anywhere close to what it is today, unless you had a special account or some crap like that.

gaslight 03-20-2012 09:43 PM

What range is that thing?

Is it comparable in range to a ukulele? I have a baritone ukulele which is like the high strings of a guitar (DGBE). Pretty fun for a hundred dollaridoos.

Dollaridoos? Y'all use some weird currency on that end of the pond.

I think it starts off with a guitar's low E and ascends in fifths from there (EBF#C#). Could be mistaken.

gaslight 03-21-2012 09:44 AM

I'd have called 'em chuzwozzas.

Chumbawumba?

gaslight 03-21-2012 09:39 PM

Struth.

BenJammin 03-21-2012 11:30 PM

I think Joe is right about the tuning. Idk, I didn't even really think about it.

FunkMetalBass 03-22-2012 08:29 AM

I recorded at my Buddy's house in Garage Band, had him export to mp3, and then went and tried recording more at home in Adobe Audition. When I imported the mp3, I noticed that the recording is a semitone up from where it should be.

Anyone heard of this issue before?

gaslight 03-23-2012 09:23 AM

That's some retarded arse shit there.

The most likely thing is he's accidentally imported the files to a faster BPM grid and the program has pitch shifted it automatically to force-fit it rather than detecting than the tempo.

Changing the sample rate can change the pitch too.

We recorded with the garage band metronome at 145 bpm. When I imported, I set my metronome to 145 bpm and it lined up almost perfectly.

The sample rate does sound like a possible culprit. I'll have to see what he records at.

BenJammin 03-23-2012 06:23 PM

Yeah, idk what that could be. But why in god's name would you export to mp3 if you were going to keep working with it? Ugh.
