i love it.
Finally, i'm not the only one who likes New Frontier:D
i've always loved it. the only song on that album i don't like is Gates Of Tomorrow, still technically great, but i just can't enjoy it. i don't skip it if i'm listening to the album, but i wouldn't choose to listen to it.

Lord Abortion 03-01-2006 12:49 PM
well, i suppose they could make a concept album about that, and their adventures on the way :p
Like Canterbury tales, but metal.

I like New Frontier.

Have maiden actually started recording yet?
Have maiden actually started recording yet?
writing at the moment i think. there's something on their website about it.
Due to Production considerations there will be no support act on the first two tour dates in Denmark but on all the other dates Maiden have confirmed up and coming US band TRIVIUM as their special guests.

Iron Maiden are currently writing material for their new, as yet untitled fourteenth studio album which will be released later in the year prior to the tour. The live show will of course include new album material, and will be in full Maiden tradition - spectacular stage production, sound and lights ... and, of course, Eddie!!

Says Steve Harris, 'We had a fantastic time and a lot of fun last year playing songs from our early albums. However, Maiden is all about pushing ourselves creatively and keeping fresh, so we're all charged up to make a great studio album together with Kevin Shirley and take it out on the road at the end of the year.

These Scandinavian dates herald the start of Maiden's new album World Tour which will take them around parts of Europe through to Christmas - playing selected dates in other parts of the World in the new year.
definitely just writing at the moment.

SimonCore 03-01-2006 01:02 PM

Hmmmm. I'd imagine it'd be longer tha august then. I'd imagine it'll be a long album. Probably there last.

if they're writing now, it should all be recorded and mixed by the summer, i don't think they like hanging around in the studio. possibly another September release though, like with Dance of Death.

SimonCore 03-01-2006 01:06 PM

^ The sooner the better because they'll tour it when it comes uot and i really wanna see them live.

they'll tour from November onwards, don't worry. if you live in the UK, you should almost certainly be able to see them.

SimonCore 03-01-2006 01:17 PM

Oh cool. Do you reckon it'll be a 'Hyde park' type tour.

Josh 03-01-2006 02:19 PM

as in playing Hyde Park? i doubt it. they just tend to play most major cities in the UK.

I think they've still got another 2 in them at least though.

they've got as many left in them as they feel like making until Steve dies :p

Dude! Steve will never die, he has the immortal powers of the Maiden behind him!

heh, i can actually picture them up on stage hooked up to life support machines:p

Hyde Park is in the middle of London. It has been used as an outdoor venue a few times now, by Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Live 8 and (this summer) Foo Fighters.

i have been there several times :p. it just doesn't strike me as the sort of place maiden would play.

I dunno, they started writing in November 02 and didn't realise it til 10 months later. Might be a rushed job :upset:

This will more then likely not be their last album, they've just got a new 'thing' going on, if you get what I mean.

the_uber_penguin 03-02-2006 03:49 AM
Maybe if were lucky it will come out earlier.
If we're unlucky we won't get it before 2010.

So an Arena tour eh:amaze: interesting

Jev 03-02-2006 04:09 AM

I wouldn't like to see them in Hyde Park, much rather see them at the Hammersmith Apollo or something.

The CIA would do just fine for me. Hyde park and stuff is too big.

Lord Abortion 03-02-2006 07:39 AM

Yeah, they do go to larger places in order to fit the stage show in.
It would be interesting to see them at a smaller gig though.

-The Frank 03-02-2006 07:43 AM

^^ the nodding donkeys ftw

SimonCore 03-02-2006 09:18 AM

They could easily fit there stage show at an arena like the CIA or NIA. The stages are really wide.

Yeah, that's what I mean.
I saw them at the Merto radio arena in Newcastle and it was brilliant.

How big is that place?

ashman 03-02-2006 11:09 AM

I reckon they could sell out the big footy stadium we've got in Hull, and that's like 60 000 people....
