So what's everyone up to?

Jake, have you passed my post count yet?

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-15-2005 04:35 PM

Just ate a Creamsicle. It was quite good, although I think I have a tongue cramp, if that is even possible. :-/

Obviously not, Omnibus. Speaking of which, when're you getting your name changed?

Arucard 07-15-2005 04:41 PM

Im gonna go eat ice cream because im being depressive.

Stoic 07-15-2005 04:55 PM

I woke up at 7:30 am today (usually do so at 12:00 pm) and it's 1:55 am, I've been sleepy and tired the whole fucking day, waking up early in the morning the one the worse things in life.

Goodnight all :)

Lunch 07-15-2005 04:59 PM

I woke up at 2 PM today, yet am still tired. I've always found that the longer I sleep for, the more tired I am during the day. Interesting how that works.

Moses 07-15-2005 05:00 PM

I guess I finally got rid of that guy in the AFI thread.

I just found out Dredg is coming to Spokane, Washington(about 3 hours away from me) on the 23rd of this month. I think I may have to go.
i.e., if you were standing in a freezer, you wouldn't get used to it, your body would just keep getting colder and colder, thus, you get sleepier and sleepier as you sleep more.

/e-Freud.
No, some people have a reflexive muscle response called "shivering" which produces a small amount of warmth.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-15-2005 06:00 PM

Ha, Madey=owned

A while ago, my dad was watching this show where this guy turned him self into a labrat(not figuratively) but he would stand in a freezing room, and he would get sprayed with one of those spray bottles. The expiriment was to see how long it took for his core body temperature to drop 10 degrees. It was like over 2 hours. Yeah, and he was only wearing underwear.

Kurtz 07-15-2005 06:14 PM
Same. I sleep usually 13-14 hours a night (during the summer at least) and I always end up taking naps during the day. It's because your body becomes lethargic to so much sleep. i.e., if you were standing in a freezer, you wouldn't get used to it, your body would just keep getting colder and colder, thus, you get sleepier and sleepier as you sleep more.

/e-Freud.
So by logic, if you slept less, you wouldn't be as tired?

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-15-2005 06:18 PM

Madey= own'd x2 :pointandlaugh:

I read that every 20 minutes of napping makes up for 2 hours of sleep. I think it's true too, if you get enough sleep in the first place, though.

Kurtz 07-15-2005 06:22 PM

If I take a nap during the day, I usually have problems sleeping at night, so I don't take them, tired or not.

Ibanez Slayer 07-15-2005 06:24 PM
So by logic, if you slept less, you wouldn't be as tired?
exactly

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-15-2005 06:31 PM

So if I didn't sleep at all, I would be at the most saturated point of awakeness?

No.

Kurtz 07-15-2005 06:46 PM
So if I didn't sleep at all, I would be at the most saturate point of awakeness?

No.
It contradicts itself.

If you sleep 13-14 hours, you will be tired, but even if you sleep 3-4 hours, you will be tired. If you sleep 8-9 hours, you still will be tired.

Cain 07-15-2005 06:48 PM
So by logic, if you slept less, you wouldn't be as tired?

Although you do end up much more lethargic if you get more than enough sleep.

I think a huge part of that is simply whether you went to bed on time. I bet we'd feel most awake if we went to bed at 9 and woke up at 8. That's about eleven hours and given the time of morning, it's our peak time to get stuff done during the day. Morning is a time that I waste far too much, yet am always grateful to have when I do wake up early. I feel like I actually have a whole day.

Illmatic 07-15-2005 06:49 PM

Bah, where's Jason when we need him?

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-15-2005 06:50 PM

What do we need him for Ray?

Illmatic 07-15-2005 06:52 PM

He's a biology major, so he should know this stuff.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-15-2005 06:57 PM

Oh, I thought you were talking about the roofing Jason. :-/ Forgot about Riva.

Anyways, I just heard my first Sigur Ros track. It was quite the amazing event.

Illmatic 07-15-2005 07:01 PM

Who the heck is roofing Jason?

And yeah, I've liked what I've heard from Sigur Ros

NP: Kanye - Jesus Walks (I haven't been able to find a copy of Late Registration ANYWHERE :upset: )

So I'm watching Gremlins 2, and couldn't help but notice that this could be the movie where the creator of Furby got his idea.

Cain 07-15-2005 07:39 PM
I tried to teach my Furby to cuss everyone out who came in my room.

This guy I know taught his sisters Furby to swear. She brought it to class one day when she was in like grade 3 or something and it was talking so the teacher took it away and the Furby told her to fuck off.

Moses 07-15-2005 08:07 PM
Question, was your name supposed to be Letmypeoplego?
