Nostalgia 04-06-2008 11:44 PM

That sounds terrible. Why do bands think it's innovative to do unnecessary and outlandish **** like that.

Daven 04-06-2008 11:50 PM

innovative or not it'd sound like crap.

Dimmu Burger 04-07-2008 06:55 AM

I have the new Septic Flesh album and its amazing. The orchestral parts are really well done.

lak89 04-07-2008 06:58 AM

Its necessary if you don't wanna be just another generic death metal band.

Thats funny because A friend of mine and I wanted to start a Goth Ska band and thats the closest thing I've heard to it.
Its necessary if you don't wanna be just another generic death metal band.
Yeah, absolutely every dm band has to reinvent the wheel, otherwise they'd be generic and I'd hate them.

I understand your point, assuming your sarcasm, but I like when people do something different. Even Yellowcard.

masscows 04-07-2008 08:46 AM

Orchestras in metal isn't really anything new though :/

I want to hear this album though

Are you serious? Adding an orchestra in a death metal project is cliche, unnecessary and cheesy.

Septic Flesh do a really good job with it. I'm not defending everybody that does it, just them. Disregard my prior statements, lol.
Sear Bliss?
Sear Bliss have horns but I don't think they have a saxophone.

Eliminator 04-07-2008 01:01 PM

A good band needn't rely on gimmicks to stand out.

ninjamonkey 04-07-2008 01:19 PM

It's not a gimmick if it isn't meant as such.

Maybe you aren't trying to get attention, but truly like to compose your death metal with an orchestra.
