Zack's good at being a really pissed off communist. That's about it.
I would say he's liberal, not communist. |
I would say he's liberal, not communist.
No he's a communist. A communist who happens to play TRL, Woodstock 99, and the Godzilla soundtrack. idk.
I'm pretty liberal myself, but I think if Zack leaned any further left he'd running in circles on the floor like Curly from the Three Stooges. Woop woopwoopwoop! Woop woopwoopwoopwoop!! Nyuh-uh-uh!
A wise guy, eh? |

"Country Grammar" was excellent, but only because I noticed that Nelly stole a few verses from that little song the kids sing in the movie "Big" with Tom Hanks and switched it around to have it be about pot. The association made the song take on new life in me.

I think the only 2 rap groups I listened to for more than 5 seconds without shutting it off in disgust were Haiku D'Etat and Public Enemy.
|
I like Jedi Mind Tricks, Haiku D'Etat, Nas, Public Enemy and a few others.
|
i just don't really listen to rap, other than RATM. if there's actually a point to whatever rap song happens to be on the radio, ie. the lyrics mean something or are just incredibly stupidly funny, then i'll maybe leave it on, but that's about it.
NP: Symphony X - Through the Looking Glass [Pts. I - III] |
This is the kind of rap I'd expect metal heads to be more 'comfortable' with:
http://brainwashed.com/vvm/downloads/vvmtest/offal13/offal13_b07_sro.mp3 It's pretty extreme, so be warned. |

/Refrains from simply bashing both RATM and rap itself.
I did that once, and I can't be bothered with an argument where people could probably quite rightly call me closed minded. I just don't like it. Each to their own. How are you all today? |
fair enough. I wouldnt really call RATM rap at ALL. If you did, they you'd have to say bands like POD are rap, and thats just lame.
Me? Alright i guess |

Me? Alright i guess
RATM kind of go in between two camps of music I really don't like. Rap vocals and they are also part of that horrible Grungy sounding American Band group of the 90's that have Pantera, Machine head*, Black Label society and all those Precursor to nu-metal bands. *I actually quite like Machine head, though NP-Iron Maiden-Heaven can Wait |
if my RAP you mean : no singing involved, only spoken words in a rhythmic pattern...
then i could agree Theres a few tracks by Rage i liked. There seems to be less and less I listen to. |

There seems to be less and less I listen to.
Yeah, it's not a big thing, I just don't like rap music, and I certainly don't like the negative cultural aspect that goes with it. Not that there aren't positives, I recognise the value of early Public enemy and other works. I think the cultural aspect of them is important, not the whole guns and bitches thing, you know? And the political thing that Rage have, I don't like either. The whole "pissed off at the government" thing is something I really despise |
i have no problem with people being pissed off at the gov't. I would agree that basing a whole band about such a things is stupid, but they made some good money.
I dont think many people really knew where the band stood on most issues, so i would hardly call them polotical |

Public Enemy era for example was very socially and politically aware. |

That's why I singled them out as an exception there :p |
Just sayin...

Total hell. I was watching a film - Stickmen - and was thoroughly enjoying it, and then the bastard fire alarm went off. Had to leave the building, and now I don't know how it finished. Have to find it on DVD, I suppose.
And I like rap, since I may as well say something on topic for once. |

 I found the Daily Show clip with Michale Graves. The funny thing is, it seems he watches the Daily Show because he must have known what they do to their interviews. Just look at the way he acts on the camera and you can tell he's expecting Ed Helms to say something really goofy any second. |

I wish Nightwish would just let Marco sing...
NP-I wish I had an angel |
Marco? I don't know much but is he the bassist who sings ocassionally? I don't think he should sing.

It's a good thing that lady left, maybe now the fans will dress less ridiculously and paint fewer tears on their faces.

Hehe, it brings some hot waif-y girls to the shows though. One super-hot one at Download was actually wearing a shawl :p WP-Dream Theater- Anna Lee (great song) NP-Darkest of the hillside thickets-The Innsmouth look |
I think they should get a fat woman to sing. With a brilliant voice.
