show off....:p, i bet it felt good, though...
|
Just got Are you Dead Yet the other day. I think it ****in rocks! What do you lot think of it??
|
in the last two days (or better: nights) i was nonstop at a party... i need a break! i'm exhausted and tired, but it was worth it... and today the next party, but i don't know if i should go. haven't played guitar for 2 days :/
I just played the We're Not Gonna Fall solo at 150bpm, I am happy.
when you can play it cleanly in some weeks, you have to record it
i recently overhauled my technique again. I think i should be able to hit 155 in a week /seriously
can't wait for the recording
Yeah, I always play in a classical like style, my style is basically like this and/or this. I also just realized that I rarely ever play standing up. I've only done it like 4-5 times.
i play the same way... to be exact i prefer the second way/picture. i tried several times to play while standing but then the guitar has to be very high... i can't play guitar so low as jimmy page has played - i play as high as petrucci... it looks awful
There was this troop of kidiots. All of em were like 13 or 12. One of them was playing lame, simple and beyond easy riffs while the others were saying things like, "omg dude keep going, keep going man" etc etc. I felt like I was listening to a pr0n flick or something lol. So I moved over to the line 6 amps which were right next to those kidiots..... Then I proceeded to turn the amp plenty loud, then played Nile- Lashed To The Slave, prolly the best I've ever played it. It was up to speed and the string skipping was done perfect. One of the kidiots noticed and looked shell shocked. It was rather funny. I didn't say anything, I just let my playing speak. They shut up really fast, I had a good lol. Thought I'd share.
 its the same in my guitar store... that's the reason why i hardly ever play there... i only look at guitars, cause i know i suck  on the doors there even is a paper where it is written: "it is forbidden to play smoke on the water and stairways to heaven!!" |

its good, but not as good as the earlier albums |
I play Sixpounder (minus the solos). I need to get my arse in gear and learn the first solo. I'm not touching the second one though. :p
I'm going to learn Slayer- Silent Scream & Dimmu Borgir-Allehelgens Dod I Helveds Rike.... Infact I did choose another DB song. There's no way around learning this song. It's catchy and brutal. Man.... Funny story from guitar center. There was this troop of kidiots. All of em were like 13 or 12.
great, so by being annoyed at the stereotypical guitar shop kids, you proceeded to become the next stereotype congratulations
Good point. |
show off....:p, i bet it felt good, though...
Very good. I didn't even look at them or anything. haha. Just turned it up. :thumb: @ Mitch, Yeah. I'll record in soon. :) I'm learning Allehelgens Dod Helveds Rike by Dimmu Borgir and should will be easy and sweet. @ Repcak, I havn't heard those two songs in a while there. I mostly hear a steady diet of, Enter Sandman Fade To Black Seek and Destroy Kashmir (zeppelin) any ACDC or such... |
at my store its usually indie or that hardcore crap. or the usual metallica, ac/dc etc.
they opened up a new store and there was probally 200-300 people in the store grand opening night and alot of the where really annying they prended to know wheat they where doing and would play the hardest thing they know over and over and over. I was hanging at the keyboards :p |
So what's your favourite song/album so far?? @Hail True Metal, btw.
And what have you heard.
ive heard sixpounder, bodom beach terror, in your face, shes beautiful (cover) and a funnyass cover of oopps i did it again |

but i hope the next time i will be able to play swamphell by kalmah at 110bpm (minus the two solos) ... i reached the 100bpm mark today (only for a short time without mistakes :( )... i could play it at 110 but then it would be too sloppy. though i still practise it at 80-90bpm
man, i haven't played guitar for 2days and i started to suck on guitar  |

Cool, have fun!
|
i just realized that the song "Scarified" by Racer X and written by Paul Gilbert isn't that hard as i always thought. its 120bpm fast and the tab doesn't look hard... the only hard parts could be the rhythm in some sections.... thats all.
i think i will try to learn this song next :D |
It's 140 and is very hard, actually. To get perfect, it'd take a long time I think. Most people that attempt this bugger up the shifts during the intro rhythm, make it sound too much like a slide which = slop.
Not many people take the time to practise it properly, so it's never perfect, PG is da man! |
its a very hard song
quoting the bpm means next to nothing, its note length that matters |
yeah my guitar teacher's a total PG fan :chug:
its a very hard song

Yeah it's pretty easy, just make sure you get the rhythm right. You can play Sixpounder in DADGBE instead of CGCFAD and just drop it down a step. That's what I do and it works out/sounds just fine. The part right after the intro was taking me a moment to pick up. Luckly, on my ipod (which is hooked up the stereo in my room), I can change the equalizer so the guitars stand out a tad more. I just turn up the song and listen. Plus when I you play the guitar parts right, you know it obviously based on how it sounds. I'm at the part where it slows down, the, 8--------8 8--------8 666666666 etc..... |

Sounds like something I'd run from. :p :p What's up Mitch? |
Paul Gilbert is one of the few shredders my teacher really likes. He gave me the tab and told me to dissect each lick to get a feel for what shredders do, but I never really learned it beyond memorizing the first arpeggios. I should really finish though - I don't think it's very hard. The fingering is very easy to get down.
|
yeah mine seems to like A7X's alot too
|
Sounds like something I'd run from. :p :p
What's up Mitch?
Eh not much, just listening to Decapitated, Cryptopsy and Hypocrisy. You should check out Scarified, just for fun. :) Ben, how's Universal Mind coming along? |
Ben, how's Universal Mind coming along?
