Are we not going to have an "R&M's top albums of 2007" thing this year, because of last year's shit?

Kingofdudes 12-01-2007 08:30 PM

What happened last year?

NP: Say Anything
NProgramming: A Graph class in c++ :):):)

Jom 12-01-2007 08:31 PM

No, you guys should still do it. We will be here to enforce whatever rules you guys decide on.

pate 12-01-2007 08:38 PM

Okay then. I'd be happy to run it.

Kage 12-01-2007 08:39 PM

I can't remember what happened last year. Did a bunch of people cheat?

Jom 12-01-2007 08:42 PM

Pate, you should start a thread basically asking for what rules you want for it. Then, it'll be up to us to enforce those rules and negate cheaters if possible.

Make a poll, make it a discussion thread... just do your thing.

Nostalgia 12-01-2007 08:46 PM

If I remember correctly, a lot of people made alt. accounts and voted for who they wanted to win. In addition to that, there of course probably was a bunch of bitching that went along with the thread.

Kingofdudes 12-01-2007 08:47 PM

I remember when toolarmy invaded a few years ago for one of the polls we had heh

Jom 12-01-2007 08:49 PM

Well, that's why we'll (at least, I'll) adopt a more hardline stance when it comes to comments. If you guys have a rule where only people with 1,000+ posts can participate and votes will only be counted in posts (i.e., there'll be no poll), we can do that.

Up to what you dudes and ladies want to do.

Nostalgia 12-01-2007 08:52 PM
1,000+ posts can participate and vote
Haha, I was just thinking that.

Jom 12-01-2007 08:57 PM

I would be completely fine with that restriction, but I think the votes-by-posts stature (rather than votes-by-poll) would be the better curb job.

pate 12-01-2007 08:58 PM

I made a preliminary thread.

Permanent Solution 12-02-2007 01:02 AM

Hard post limits aren't always great because some regs can stay under 1k posts but maybe just a case by case basis or soemthing.

So what is the point of posts like this?? Im usually not one to complain, but stuff like that (Ghoul's last post) is just pointless

TojesDolan 12-02-2007 01:26 PM

It's not like the forum has a point!

DRUGS RIGHT!

Permanent Solution 12-02-2007 10:23 PM

The way he wrote it would be awkward if moved so yeah.

I was on that thread before you I just can't decide what to do with it :o

I guess I'll just close it.

gmoneyguy 12-02-2007 10:28 PM

I just wanted to ask a question regarding the review site.
How does one go about becoming a Contributor? From what I read, I've exceeded the number of reviews (I think it was 15-20 and I have 21), and my approval rating is still 100 percent. I've seen contributors with less reviews and lower approval ratings so I wondered if I was missing something.

Riva 12-04-2007 10:39 PM

Well you certainly missed this forum, for starters.

gmoneyguy 12-04-2007 10:40 PM

I would post that in the sputnik forum.

rasputin 12-04-2007 10:42 PM

sorry guys, yeah I didn't realise there was a sputnik forum. I'll go post the question there, thanks for the help.
