I finally picked up Hail to the Theif, pretty nice stuff. It seems to get a lot of mixed feelings, but I think its great, because as much as I'd love to 'get' all of that ambient noodling on Kid A, unless I'm in the right mindset I just don't.
James Brown - 20 Greatest Hits!
Sometimes I'm convinced that James Brown invented krautrock. Without the noise.

I'm digging the albums I bought today. All awesome.

ATM 12-26-2006 04:38 PM

What'd you get?

Eliminator 12-26-2006 04:40 PM

That album is good to listen to when you drive around at night.

Hedgedive 12-26-2006 06:22 PM

I got I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your *** for my mom. That and LOVE (Beatles).
That album is good to listen to when you drive around at night.
Especially Moby Octopad.

br3ad_man 12-26-2006 06:48 PM

It's best when you play "Return to Hot Chicken" and then "Moby Octopad".

Bartender 12-26-2006 06:51 PM

Scott Matthews - Passing Stranger

Pretty good, this. Perhaps a little bit disappointing given how good "Dream Song" is, but still. Singer-songwriter type stuff with something on a frequent emphasis on Eastern-like sounds (healthy dose of tabla, for example), optimistically I think it'd appeal to Jeff Buckley/Nick Drake enthusiasts. And if not, you should all at least hear "Dream Song".

Happymeal 12-26-2006 07:14 PM

Bonnie "Prince" Billy & Matt Sweeney - Superwolf

and

Wilco - Summerteeth

I read that this is Wilco's "pop" album but I couldn't connect to the songs as well as I did with YHF's, though there are some really fantastic lines in it.

The ashtray says..

Well, Kanye produced it, and RS are obsessed with him.
