Fantastic 4 is a cool movie. They should do a sequel.
I think Rissa is beautiful :D
That was very nice of you. Thank you.
All the hardcore kids are bandwaggoners who like a scene band regardless of how crappy it is. In fact, most of the really scene hardcore bands are terrible, but all the kids like them because it's trendy haha. Of course they could actually like the music...but I'd just attribute that to bad taste
I hate it when people complain about other people's taste in music. I know I do it a lot. But it's really annoying because everyone is different and that is just a fact of life. Why complain about it...
I feel like I should say "Give peace a chance" next.
Most scene bands, hxc or not, are terrible. Its like, one person with good taste in music likes a crappy band, so all of their scene minions talk about how good they are just to be more scene, thus giving the crappy band a good reputation. It happened with a terrible local band that had tons of hype behind them, then the band got really unpopular after one person admitted to not liking them, and everyones admitance of their ****ty music spread.
PTW isn't a scene band :upset:
PTW isn't a scene band :upset:
I wouldnt know, i dont know much about them.

Understanding In a Crash 07-19-2005 07:57 PM

I'd say scene bands consist of (in various genres) Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, Blink 182, Greenday, Underoath, Atreyu, Slipknot, Godsmack, MCR, The Used, and I cant think of anymore...

More Mallcore then anything. :)

In various genres, yes.

i think mallcore is just a wierd term, but i guess its easier to say than mainstream.

Excursions 07-19-2005 08:00 PM

PTW are a scene band, any bands that dresses like that are.

I have a good vision in my mind of what they look like from that phrase alone.

Some of those are, some aren't really. To add to that list: Norma Jean, Poison the Well, Dillinger Escape Plan (actually a good band though)

Understanding In a Crash 07-19-2005 08:10 PM

DEP and Poison The Well aren't as known and loved upon as Underoath and MCR...

DEP is barely even known here actually except among elitist metal-core and grind kids.

I live in the EMO capitol :thumb:

I wasn't saying mainstream, just scene. Those bands you listed are mainstream, but not necessarily scene, there's a difference.

Excursions 07-19-2005 08:16 PM

I like some scene bands. The Bleeders are a perfect example of a scene band but they still make some good pop punk/hardcore music, it's weird that they supported Green Day though.

I think it's an acquired taste. I bought the CD and then regretted it, and then listened some more and like it a lot now.

Lorax, Yoda, and Omar. :D

I dont like the term acquired taste. To me, taht means its not good, but because you listened to it so many times, it got beat through your head so now its tolerable. That doesnt mean it sounds better the more you listen to it, but it sounds less crappy because the shock factor of its crappiness wore off.

metty16 07-19-2005 08:29 PM

I didn't like yoda to much. Mace Windu...well, that would be a different story

I think that's part of it, but you can grow to like things you dislike too. I used to hate all screaming, but then I got used to it, and now i like it and try to even write it into stuff I write. I think you can just get over the crapiness, or you can learn to like what you didn't before. Both happen.

EDIT: Pfft, Yoda pwns Mace Windu.

Puma 07-19-2005 08:34 PM

Chewy owns them both.

Permanent Solution 07-19-2005 08:37 PM

*Chewie

Not really though...wookies are overrated.

I feel like such a nerd, yay.

Gnarmageddon 07-19-2005 08:37 PM

Wooo. Warped tomorrow. I get to meet Michael.

cobert 07-19-2005 08:39 PM

Chewie > mace windu > yoda

I put mace windu above yoda because theres not enough brothas in the galaxy, and chewie above both because he pwns.

Mute Print 07-19-2005 08:39 PM

I can't wait for Warped Tour. Its still a week away for me though.

Permanent Solution 07-19-2005 08:42 PM

I met Thrice at Warped and got autographs too :D (Thrice=probably the closest thing to my favorite band)

I also met the singer for Strike Anywhere while buying a shirt, but didn't know it was him because they hadn't played yet :(

I disown you, kid.

Gnarmageddon 07-19-2005 08:43 PM

I want to see Thrice sooo bad. I hope they play some new stuff.

Mute Print 07-19-2005 08:44 PM

Thrice is definately at the top of my "bands to see" list. I really want to see The Bled too.

Permanent Solution 07-19-2005 08:45 PM

If it's the same set, they play (I forgot the order) Cold Cash, TAITA, Deadbolt, and two new songs. I might have missed a song in there though....such short sets though :(

cobert 07-19-2005 08:46 PM
I disown you, kid.
The entire pop-punk forum has already disowned you.

Gnarmageddon 07-19-2005 08:47 PM

The Bled
Fall Out Boy
Thrice
MxPx
A Wilhelm Scream
The Malcontents
Transplants
Emery
Hopesfall
Horrorpops
Throwrag

Bands that I'm hoping to see.

Mute Print 07-19-2005 08:47 PM

That's the only disappointing thing about Warped Tour...the short sets. I read somewhere on here that Thrice is supposed to tour with Underoath, and The Bled in the fall, so I'm really hoping they come here. That'd be so awesome.
