I remember my first concert, maiden in 03, DoD tour...
for me it was: 1995: Ozzy Osbourne, Korn, LIFE OF AGONY.

LoA blew both korn and ozzy out of the water, shame they only had about 30 minutes worth of songs at the time
'tis good. Germany is a cool country.

Where in germany are you? And yes Germany is a cool country, you have to try and get to Triberg in the black forest if possible, best place ever.
Short answer: I'm not really sure.

There isn't really a longer answer.
That was the worst cop-out ever, you could have googled, or lied.

I as well, as well as gaelic football, if you have ever seen that sport (ive only seen like 2 or 3 games at most) it is crazy.
Now picture this: One day, you're just sittin' at home minding your own business, perhaps masturbating to madey's posts because that's what Jake would do ( :p ), and you hear your doorbell ring. "Who could that be?" you ask yourself, because no one is around because you're a lonely guy and you post on MX all the time. You open the door and you see a skinny, drunken English kid with a look of rage in his eyes that will put the fear of God in you. "Why, hello, there, no we are not interested in Jehovah, sorry" you try to tell him. Next thing you know, the skinny English Beatle kid is jumping on you, wrapping his small hands (you know what they say about small hands, they have better grip.) around your neck and letting out a savage yell as he rips your little head off, and dances around as Japanese Pop music blares from out of nowhere.

Moral of the story: England sucks.

Steerpike 07-15-2005 05:46 AM

Well, I've stayed up all night once again, am up later in the morning than usual due to sleep 12 hours yesterday, and have finally made a decision I can feel good about: I'm quitting my job at Target. I'm treated like a packmule there and I'm tired of it. So I quit.

I'm contemplating whether I should tell them at the end of my shift tonight or just call in early in the afternoon to tell them I'm picking up my paycheck and resigning.

Riva 07-15-2005 06:00 AM

I hope people are still taking advantage of the awesome displays of the haka and other war dances practised by Rugby teams.

Also, Ray, I spent my 5 hours at work today developing my character in your story. :p

Firstly, do you want to put in Ken as the chief medical examiner? I say this because he is a paramedic in real life. Also, DBJ could be the police liason to the Mayor's office. Aaaand, Vince can be the criminalist.

Anyways: I reckon my character should be called Jason Sommers. Here is the bio:

Born in country North Queensland, Jason had nonetheless lived in every major city in Australia by the age of 10, thanks to a father in the Air Force. Despite the constant travel, he still managed to graduate high school with high marks, and won a scholarship to study chemistry at Harvard.

However, in his second year there, a bungled robbery left Jason's girlfriend of the time critically wounded. Holding his dying love in his arms caused Jason to make a vow to join the ranks of those who keep the streets clean.

Still a country Australian at heart, Jason still spins a good yarn, and has retained his knowledge of chemistry, lending a unique view on ordinary crimes. He holds strongly to the ideals of the police force, a trait some consider nieve, but those who know him understand it is an outgrowth of a strong will.

Synopsis:

Jason speaks with an Aussie accent. Duh. He has full access to every Aussie stereotype, and once per episode, should do something to remind the audience of his origins (i.e. Make a comment about dingoes, etc). Use lingo as required.

Jason's love interest is Leah (Leanna O'Reilly), although it is a tenous one. Use as required.

NB: It is not necessary to give Jason huge speaking parts, as everyone knows Aussies are bad actors.

Bartender 07-15-2005 06:13 AM

Nice bio.

What do you guys (at least the two of you here) think of The Arcade Fire? My girlfriend likes them alot, and from what I've heard they're okay.
I've only heard a couple of songs by them, live on Jools Holland. They seemed pretty good, though to be honest I was concentrating more on the violinists bumping into each other and falling over than I was the music.

clearvision 07-15-2005 06:16 AM

'Sick and tired of bieng sick and tired'

The most overused line in music?

Ozzy Osbourne - I Just Want You
Papa Roach - Stop Looking, Start Seeing
Anastacia - Sick and tired
Everclear - Sick and tired

Googling gives more entries, but they aren't as well known. I'm pretty sure there is an incubus song with those lyrics in there somewhere too.

Steerpike 07-15-2005 07:04 AM

Anybody got any suggestions on how to get to sleep? I'm still a little tightly wound, and since my sleep schedule has recently been upset, it's making it difficult to get some rest.

Apocalyptic Raids 07-15-2005 08:02 AM

Usually I eat something. Or have a nice hot shower (Unless its summer, in which case I have a cold shower :D )

Arucard 07-15-2005 08:23 AM

My thread in the pit burned. But at least im not feeling as ill because my Auntie took my to Ikea. Ikea is the best place ever, its so big and so cheap. And their meatballs kick your butt.

clearvision 07-15-2005 08:39 AM

I hate Ikea with a passion, there is too many people there when we go :( and we never eat lunch there :(

Arucard 07-15-2005 08:47 AM

The lunch is the best bit! Its so good eating those goooooooood meatballs.

Steerpike 07-15-2005 08:50 AM

I don't think I've ever once set foot in an Ikea in my life.

Rothmans 07-15-2005 08:50 AM

Arucard 07-15-2005 09:10 AM

They have very cheap hot dogs and Ice cream, I like it there. :)

Arucard 07-15-2005 09:28 AM

Large hotdog = 70p. Can't go wrong with that, it even has the nazi mods approval :P

Otherside 07-15-2005 09:30 AM

Is it like a park? Or something?

Ignorance to Europe ++

Naah, its basically a massive funiture/household goods/everything shop that started in Sweden, which also includes a place to buy Swedish foods (meatballs!) and eat hotdogs, ice cream and drink cheap soft drinks. Best place ever.

You European people are weird. I'm going to tell GWB to invade you're country next

He'd do it too, just have to promise him lots of oil.

Edit: what was the anime you uploaded in the Pit?

magicbus 07-15-2005 09:37 AM

Didn't Ed Norton have an Ikea catalog in Fight Club? Where he got that yin-yang table and stuff?

Good morning, btw.

Its a Naruto video that someone made, with Linkin Park : Faint in the background. It goes well, its like Linkin Park were made for amatuer anime videos.

Otherside 07-15-2005 09:44 AM

Heh, well I'll do my best to ward of flaming in the thread.

Arucard 07-15-2005 09:51 AM

I already did, I had to go take a shower though while it was downloading.

Why did it focus so much on Sasuske? It was pretty good beyond that though, although it did have Linkin Park :\

Arucard 07-15-2005 10:05 AM

Im not sure, ive got a Rock Lee vs Gaara one that ill add in a minute. That ones awesome, but again, Linkin Park :\

Edit : Its up.

yeah, IKEA is teh rule. Been there a few times and since I couldnt find the way out I left from the entrance :p. It's fucking huge and cool (air condition), ideal for summer. I'm in love with the bedrooms and children's rooms, especially with chirdren's berths. I've never eaten there though, I think I'll try this too!

Joe 07-15-2005 12:14 PM

So this is kind of random but I have heard so much talk of NIN lately and how great they are and how good they'll be. Then I heard "The Hand That Feeds" and I'll have to say I was extremely disappointed. It was terrible.

So, IKEA is pretty cool. Apparently the founder is the richest guy on the planet now just because his money is in swedish currency.

Arucard 07-15-2005 12:47 PM

That happened to me too, The Hand That Feeds is total balls.

Drugstep 07-15-2005 12:49 PM

I don't intend to ever listen to Nine Inch Nails. I don't need them.

Hand That Feeds is nothing special.

Six Foot Revolver 07-15-2005 12:56 PM

In 9 more posts I can going to hit the big ol' five triple zero :)

RHCP - Fight Like a Brave also has that line, I think.

Jason: Sounds good to me...and judging by the behavior of the thread regs, I think Leanna/Leah is EVERYONE'S love interest  (well, just about everyone's, but you get the idea)

Aaron: I think he did, but I haven't seen Fight Club in a while

The Hand That Feeds isn't a very good song...they have better

Jom 07-15-2005 01:36 PM

Please read new article and comment.

Arucard 07-15-2005 01:44 PM

Alright, calm down.

And Ray, i don't see Leah as any type of love interest :\

Illmatic 07-15-2005 01:44 PM

Well, a lot of people here do.

EDIT: Guys, quit proving me wrong here :(
