Any other Smiths albums you think I should own would be awesome.
i'd go with all of them. louder than bombs, hatful of hollow, s/t and strangeways, here we come are all essentials to me. you could probably leave out strangeways but those three are essentials. for morrissey i'd recommend vauxhall and i and viva hate 1. Brian Wilson - 55 2. The Police - 31 3. ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - 19 4. Alice in Chains - 18 5. Gnarls barkley - 12 6. Cursive - 11 7. Lynyrd Skynyrd - 10 8. 2Pac - 8 8. Galaxie 500 - 8 10. The Mars Volta - 6 |
Cool thanks man.
Would it be possible you could upload those into the album trading thread? |
heck yes. just tell me what you want.
|
Strangeways is the best Smiths album. Book it.
|
Aw noes. It's like they finally got the production up to the level of the songwriting. So as an album, it's the best.
|
Strangeways is the best Smiths album. Book it.
thats what i say too but most disagree so i don't feel confident giving it out as a recommendation right away. |
heck yes. just tell me what you want.
Hateful Hallow and the s/t would be kickass. And Strangeways if you think I should on that. Maybe the reason why I didn't immediatly like the Smiths was because I only bought Meat is Murder. |
ya wow bad call on meat is murder its a great album but i'm glad i didn't start with it.
|
MIM is definitely their worst. That's their only release I don't listen to with any regularity.
And man, when the strings bust in on "Girlfriend in a Coma" or they start jamming at the end of "Death of a Disco Dancer" with Moz on piano, I feel confident in saying they were the best band of the 80s. |

Who is this M. Ward clown?
|
The best singer/songwriter around at the moment, probably.
|
No, that title goes to Mr. Joseph Arthur.
I still can't believe most of you guys haven't heard of him. |

!!! never really appealed to me either.
I didn't like 'Let's take Ecstacy' (i think that's what it was called) all that much. I agree, they're good songs, but they don't have the specific fealing that I'm really looking for. |
Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP
memories... i lost this a long time ago and picked it up a few days ago. still makes me laugh, but that's normal ain't it, norman? |
Glenn Branca - Symphony No 2
The first movement is incredible, but nothing else has really impressed me a lot yet. I'm going to get the first symphony next, definitely. |
I only got 2 CD's for Christmas today, but I've been listening to them in between playing with my phone and boring dinner conversations...
Minutemen - Double Nickles on the Dime Big Black - Rich Man's 8-Track Albini's rant in the Big Black notes is easily worth the price for it alone  |
