I swear not having any kids (living, lost an infant in 1984) I just never aged mentally past that incident. At least in the normal ways parents do. So now I still looked at young chicks, think they are hot, and realize I'm old enough to be their day. Creepy, yet comforting.:)

Bonham#1! 04-29-2008 08:48 PM

Weird when you realise you can be peoples day, I agree.

Seriously considering selling my DWs and my HUGE Gibraltar rack in favor of another set of DWs or C&Cs in a smaller configuration.

I love my DWs and they have been amazing drums but I need different features now. I'm heading off to College in the fall and I'd love to play guitar or drums (or both) in bands whilst in school. I am most comfortable on a 4 piece, and the DWs I have are 10, 12, 14, 16. I also want floor toms with legs. Floating floors are great but placement annoys me after a few years.

Also I never use the rack anymore. Stands all the time. I have a crap ton of clamps, extension tubing, and other things for the rack, all Gibraltar heavy duty stuffs.
What do you chaps think? I'd be willing to cut someone here a good deal if anyone was interested in anything.

tbh i would give up a leg before i gave up an arm. if you're missing a leg you can still walk with crutches or push yourself in a wheelchair. but if you're missing an arm, it's tough to pick stuff up with your leg.

/takes joke too literally

Chippy569 04-29-2008 10:06 PM

not only is it an arm, but it's an arm and 9/10ths of a cent!

fishbulb 04-29-2008 10:27 PM

And you can drum better with two arms and one leg than you can with one arm and two legs.

Aww, I'm sorry :(

When I was born, I think it hit the re-set button in my dad's brain.
Like, he started over from scratch -- he and I have been on an equal level since I was like 2, and as I got older he's been getting older.

I fear, however, that very soon I'll be older than he is :(

It's funny, though.
He just turned 39, but hates everybody his age. I'm his best friend..seriously. He calls me to tell me something cool on the radio, or complain about his job, or ask why everybody his age sucks and why he gets along with 18 year old girls [meaning me, and me alone, because he recognizes that it would be creepy to have friends his daughter's age].

And he keeps telling me about these people he hangs out with who party, and he's like "I want to take you to this party..but it'd be kind of weird, huh. Like really weird. Damnit!"

yeah but drums are lame.

speaking of drums being lame, my work just got hq silencer pads, and i was thinking about going in tomorrow night after it closes and practicing some new breed. i haven't done anything out of new breed in like a year, and today i was realizing how bad my independence is.

sup guys?

played a pretty alright gig last night...

our support didnt show up so we decided to split the set into 2 halves.

2 songs in, guitarists string broke, so we had to change it, as he couldnt get a spare before the gig (was originally gonna use the supports)

after we changed that, flow was broken. i was playing really well, and was happy, and my kit sounded awesome, but they were pissed off.

so 3 or 4 drinks later, in the 2nd half, we just went for it. kicked off with some old punk covers, got the audience moving, then played our own, then a scandallous cover of blitzkrieg bop (i've never learnt it or heard it a lot)

so we finished, got paid £40, and spent it all on £1.60 jager shots. (thats 25 btw).

then we loaded the gear up, and i misjudged the size of the doo;r trying to get my bass through, and took all the skin off my knuckle. after persuading the bouncers to let me back in because it was only a lot of blood, just a little cut, and i had £600 worth of gear still upstairs, i got all my gear, and ended up covering my snare in blood:(

theres now blood all over my bed too, cos i didnt do anything about it last night...

morale is: dont spend all your gig money on booze then try and get through a narrow door....

Berk 04-30-2008 06:03 AM

man i want to gig so bad.

in other news i stayed home again due to the small cold i have.

BummerJonny 04-30-2008 06:10 AM

i stayed at home cos the gig finished at 2am, and i had a massive hangover :)

Panopticon 04-30-2008 06:51 AM

an_original_name 04-30-2008 06:53 AM
