gmoneyguy 12-12-2004 10:21 PM

I will, when I get off.

Badmoon 12-12-2004 10:23 PM

Are you two...niggas?

gmoneyguy 12-12-2004 10:27 PM

Brothers is the correct term.

Badmoon 12-12-2004 10:51 PM

That's funny. I never knew you two were...niggas.

Riva 12-13-2004 12:32 AM

Triple post extravaganza!

I'm pissed that not a single person noticed that Deep Purple was a predominantly English band in that "American Rock Sucks" thread.

was that the one that got closed?

hey badmoon i wasn't aware you had Pet Sounds. what do you think of it? i've wanted to buy it forever but i can't find it anywhere.

i'm thinking of forming a band that has beach boyish vocals and pink floydish instrumentals. the two could be put together to make some pretty interesting music, although its hard playing floyd and singing like brian wilson at the same time.

Woodstock 12-13-2004 03:21 PM

That's a nice list you have there Badmoon. Say, you seem to have Hot Rats...

Broken Arrow 12-13-2004 03:35 PM

Badmoon gave Stiff Upper Lip a...............4.5/5:eek:

Badmoon 12-13-2004 03:58 PM
Badmoon gave Stiff Upper Lip a...............4.5/5
It's a much more different album, compared to their other stuff. I use to have most the ACDC albums, but I then sold them.
hey badmoon i wasn't aware you had Pet Sounds. what do you think of it? i've wanted to buy it forever but i can't find it anywhere.
Listen to what Medopalis said.
That's a nice list you have there Badmoon. Say, you seem to have Hot Rats...
Tell me know when you want it, let me upload it, and then I'll give it to you.

BludgeonySteve 12-13-2004 05:22 PM
Pet Sounds is one of the best albums of all time in my opinion. I really like The Beach Boys, but everything they say about that album is true, and it's their best work by quite a long way. I found it pretty easy to find on Amazon though...get Smile by Brian Wilson as well (it's one of the best albums of this year).
Yeah, that's pretty much their best album. They don't like it though, in an interview they said it sucked and some of their other stuff was much better.

It's only them that says that though :)

Riva 12-13-2004 05:26 PM

Well, everyone knows that artists don't know as much about their music as their fans. ;)

To RnR:You have given out too much Reputation in the last 24 hours, try again later.

thickasabrick 12-13-2004 05:28 PM

hm..i have two of their greatest hits albums. (beach boys) one didn't have Good Vibrations so i bought another one because it was cheap.

besides Pet Sounds and Smile are there any other albums that i should check out? cuz i noticed at the record store they had about twenty beach boys albums, but not pet sounds. so if i can't find it i will buy some other ones anyway.

BludgeonySteve 12-13-2004 05:28 PM

I don't rep just to get rep. No need for it

But if you want to you can :)

*just got Hotel California*. Before I only had The Eagle's greatest hits. Good but I wasn't as impressed with it as radio stations try to brainwash me into being.

Get Endless Summer :). It makes me go -----> :)

Broken Arrow 12-13-2004 05:31 PM

I only have a greatest hits album by them.:(

It has 20 songs though.:)

I noticed that the exact same effect is used on the songs Echoes and Is Anybody Out There?

It's the one where the guitar sounds like a lady shreiking.

thickasabrick 12-13-2004 05:32 PM

i like Hotel California. I have quite a bit of Eagles records, 4 of The Long Run..im not sure why. I love how easy they are to listen to, like at the time when punk was taking off, and bands like Kiss and Ac/Dc were trying to be as loud as possible, the Eagles were always there just to relax and chill out to.

Riva 12-13-2004 05:33 PM

Endless Summer is a great album, for me at least.

And I can only get into a few of the Eagles' songs. Tequila Sunrise, and some of their other greatest hits seems to be all I can stand. They're a real hit-or-miss band to me.

what is that thing? at first i thought it was a Theremin, but i'm really not sure...it really startles you out of your groove when you are high/just relaxing to the music

Broken Arrow 12-13-2004 05:35 PM

I was thinking some effect on maybe a pedal steel guitar but I don't know/.

Riva 12-13-2004 05:39 PM

Well, I assume this is Pink Floyd's Echoes?

If so, I think Gilmour was using his Strat, and just had his effects pedal going all out.

I have a couple of 8-tracks by the Eagles, but I haven't checked them out yet because I broke the 8-track player last night. :upset: I'm not sure if I should spend money on any of their CDs though.

I'd like to buy a Doors CD though...what's their best?

Badmoon 12-13-2004 05:39 PM

I love Pedal Steels.

Morison Hotel or s/t:)

thickasabrick 12-13-2004 05:42 PM

the other night my brother was having a party, and i came home from Oceans 12 and was trying to write a song, and it was hard because the party was so loud, and then i noticed it sounded exactly like a pink floyd song (very interstellar overdrivish)...

downstairs someone was playing my guitar, someone in the other room was playing my organ, someone was bashing away on drums in my bro's room, plus i could hear people laughing and there was cheering coming from a football video game. everything seemed to fit together perfectly although everyone was playing something completely different. i wish i could have recorded it.

buy them all, they are all amazing in their own way. my favourite is Strange Days, although their s/t probably has their most well known songs. LA Woman isn't near as psychadelic as their first ones, its more R&Bish almost.

so it depends what you like i suppose.

Awesome you have an organ!?!

Is Oceans 12 as good as the first one?
