Cool, welcome to the boards.

appreciate_it 05-10-2005 03:03 AM

Hit the lights is a brilliant song. I'd have to say Whoever did Fade to black, it was a pretty hagged review for Metallicas Front Running songs. I mean, you didn't get into any depth of the song being created or anythin! No offence you're probably more of a local round these parts(haha) than me but did you know about fade to black:
They started writing it because all thier gear got stolen out of thier van the night before they were going to the ultimate place at the time, britain. passports, gear, money, everything.
"simply nothing more to give"

SKoRioN 05-10-2005 05:42 AM

Hey guys 'n' gals, haven't posted in a while but I thought if I'm gonna make one I may as well do it in the good ole Met thread ;)

What's happening ?

metalcritter666 05-10-2005 10:14 AM

I haven't been on for a couple days but I think there's a bunch of review type things going on...

BassMasterMike88 05-10-2005 11:24 AM

Is it me or does anyone else think Whiplash sounds quite abit like Hit the Lights? I guess they are just in the same key or somthing.

Mazeppa 05-10-2005 12:05 PM

They don't sound alike to me.

Iceman-rocker 05-10-2005 12:42 PM

their completely different. the only thing alike is the double picked/palm muted open note. but hit the lights is in a, and whiplash is in e.

suck it.

wicked_child 05-10-2005 12:42 PM

except for the fast shreds, they are not the same.

wicked_child 05-10-2005 12:46 PM
They got rid of the song name thread? Damn, that's where my posts went. A lot of them as well.
yeah. i love that game.

IbanezSA 05-10-2005 12:54 PM

metallica is an amazing band didnt like there new cd saint anger as much but they are still a very good band i mean cmon who couldnt love ...and justice for all

Bartender 05-10-2005 12:55 PM

Me. I'm not much of a fan of (most of) AJFA.

metalcritter666 05-10-2005 01:09 PM

I personally like St. Anger...I think ReLoad is their worst CD because the songs are just....missing something. St. Anger maybe repetitive and there is a lack of solos but the riffs are really great and the drumming is better than anything through the 90s (even if they sound a bit like trashcans).

Leper 05-10-2005 01:36 PM

fast drumming /= better drumming..I'm no expert on percussion but i thought Lars's work on St. Anger actually souded rather sloppy.

Endless Obsession 05-10-2005 01:38 PM

I like fast drumming more than slow. It really adds to the song.

munky_magik 05-10-2005 01:39 PM

Even if it's a slow song?

Huber 05-10-2005 01:53 PM

The drumming on St. Anger was okay. Nothing special, but I don't think it sounded "sloppy".

Leper 05-10-2005 02:06 PM

ok, well maybe it was just the tuning. Like i said, i'm no expert on drums.

lilmetallica 05-10-2005 02:34 PM

Yea there was a ring on the snare that sounds really weird...

VicRattlehead99 05-10-2005 02:48 PM

yeah i agree the drumming on st.anger was good but the drum itself ruined it for me that sound inoined the crap out of me.

flamesofbodom 05-10-2005 02:49 PM

I just noticed it on Sweet Amber. Ugh

maddog87 05-10-2005 03:04 PM

Hameed67 05-10-2005 03:33 PM

Im a metallica fan for life, but they have not released a Real metal CD since the 90's and ST. Anger was terrible

vashts80 05-10-2005 03:47 PM

Robzilla's intro on The God That Failed > Newsted's intro imo

metalcritter666 05-10-2005 03:51 PM

LarsAgi007 05-10-2005 04:58 PM

I was upset that Larz dismissed the idea of a Metallica greatest hits album! GRRR, I thought it was a good Idea.
I was upset that Larz dismissed the idea of a Metallica greatest hits album! GRRR, I thought it was a good Idea.
listen to s&m. :)

metal_milita 05-10-2005 06:38 PM

No offence man, but none of the reviews do justice to any of the songs. their not reviews..... their just... summaries or timelines. if anything, I would love playing a game where you in-depth analyze the lyrics/music. IN DEPTH. then again, that's gonna be un-fun and educational, so no ones prolly gonna be in.

flamesofbodom 05-10-2005 06:40 PM

Wait...you want us to write reviews?

Deth 05-10-2005 06:40 PM

Yeah, you guys aren't that great at reviews.
