Distant Echoes 01-26-2005 07:56 PM

Id learn bass in a second if i had one, because i want to end the whole idea of the bass always following the guitarist. I think bassist should be the ones putting the music scale into effect and doing something more than the guitarist's notes.

If thats what every bassist did, anybody could be one.
Shutup and go back to your bass-player corner of the stage.
Fine, I like it better there anyway. I don't have to deal with the ego-maniac guitarists and I'm a safe distance from the drummer, the poorest excuse for a musician, not to mention they're generally very stupid.

Distant Echoes 01-26-2005 07:58 PM

I dont know...would i rather heard bassist and drummer, guitarist and drummer, or bassist and guitarist...thats a tough question

what do u guys think

magicbus 01-26-2005 07:58 PM

I will learn bass eventually. But first, harmonica and piano.

Guitarist and drummer. No offense to bassists.

Ha, I already know how to play bass, as well as guitar, flute, cello, viola, and somewhat piano

Bassist and drummer could lay down some sick grooves.

I fail to see how drummers are the "poorest excuse for a musician".

HempKnight 01-26-2005 08:02 PM
If you're musically retarded.
Dude im a guitar player, but u know the drums are just as importent. Drummers get a lot less credit then they desrve. Alex Van Halen is just as good as Eddie Van Halen is a guitarist, but he doesnt get as much credit as he deserves.

Johnny B. Good 01-26-2005 08:03 PM

Alex Van Halen isn't that great of a drummer, but does have his moments

Lunch started it, he always does :madderfied:

Distant Echoes 01-26-2005 08:07 PM

We could totally start a band if we didnt live 500 miles away from eachother.

Bashing on other musicians is funny as hell, until people take it personally, or you get into the ? jokes...or if its between Plant and Bonham. I seen they got into some really bad arguements backstage all the time

I never heard about Bonham and Plant having bad arguments. I've heard about Bonham vs. Everyone else in his drunken rages, but not specifically Robert.

jpj 01-26-2005 08:10 PM

Yea, I've never heard that either.

kadbase3 01-26-2005 08:11 PM
yea i was worried that was just my imagination. o i just discovered a great classic rock band by the name of The Moody Blues. now they are good. check out "Nights in White Satin," "Tuesday Afternoon," "Ride my SeeSaw," and "I'm just a singer (in a rock and roll band)."
Johnny B. Good 01-26-2005 08:12 PM

I've heard about the time John Bonham took a shehite in a girls shoe and threw into the crowd

/doesn't know if it's true

One of the other band members was in another room with a girl being loud ( :naughty: ) and John got mad so he took a shit in the girls shoe.
well at least some of us have our heads on straight. it's a start. i'm wanna see some band come along and revitalize the classic rock style...
I hear Cream (yes, that's right Cream) could be doing a reunion tour within a year or two.
I never heard about Bonham and Plant having bad arguments. I've heard about Bonham vs. Everyone else in his drunken rages, but not specifically Robert.
well 1 example, plant and bonham were fighting after a cencert in 69 or 70, and bonham reportably said "well it doesnt matter if you miss a note or not! all you have to do is shake you *** and look good and nobody gives a ****"

something like that, but i forget what it was over. deep down, they know they liked eachother though...probably during the acid trips

You can stop quoting posts from months ago now, and get with the current conversation. And yes Cream is doing a weeks worth of shows at The Royal Albert Hall in London.

i also heard about that, not that im a huge fan of cream, but id love to see clapton in action. His records dont do justice to his live performances

I'm not quite sure.

Distant Echoes 01-26-2005 08:18 PM

on concerts...i just got a great idea, i think

their should be some kind of stickied thread or something that keeps everybody up to date with which bands are touring, either currently or in the future. Ticketmaster never respondes to their update list or whatever it is. But it seems like when people say 'this band is touring', everybody goes crazy. If there were a weekly updated thread for upcoming concerts, everybody would know whats going on all the time

i dont know if itll work or not though, but id be willing to organize it

Perhaps you are thinking of Plant and Richard Cole, their tour manager??

They used to fight a lot.
