That acoustic street spirit is sexcalisious
|
I'm really enjoying it this version of Street Spirit.
Climbing Up The Walls is genius. I see visions when I listen to that song. In fact, I recently wrote a really awesome song, if I do say so myself, being inspired by that song. |
It is so very haunting. It's one of those songs that sticks with you a while after you listen to it. It's just an emotional ride, really. Ever read the lyrics? Creepy stuff.
Although, I thought the explanation of the song by Thom was rather cheesy. |
Yes...so haunting. It works perfectly on the album. I've never heard the explanation, but the lyrics are fantastic.
|
My favorite Radiohead song is probably Climbing up the Walls as well. It owns hXc. :)
|
Right now, my favorite Radiohead song is probably Idioteque. Can just get lost in that song.
|
Well anyways, here's the .RAR.
I thought it would take alot longer than this but YSI is being relatively fast today compared to other times. http://s51.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=105EHVAYZWNIS0Y2HKL5XOR6N5 |
w00t! Thanks a lot, Otherside.
By the way, I've never been able to successfully create an .rar file with Stuffit. How do you do it? I do it the way it seems it should be done, and it simply doesn't do anything. |
I use WinRAR to zip .rar files. I don't recall where I got it, but try looking here for it. :)

Yah, that's what I use as well. It's very very simple and easy to use. |
Oh. Well, I use Stuffit to unzip things, because any type of compression/zipping file you can think of, it does.
I'll get WinRAR, though. |
Thank you Otherside!.. Looking for anything dredg or porcupine tree? heheh
|
Speaking of that....I have a MASSIVE Dredg library. I've got a bunch of demos/Blueprint tracks, old demos, and the Orph EP, and a lot more.
|
I have all dredg available... Hehe.. And alot of live shows, both video, and flac
|
Well I just downloaded El Cielo yesterday, and I'm going to try and buy their new release... but some Sigur Ros would be awesome :D
Any album but (), I already got that |
They never made an official release of Orph did they? I'm listening to it now, and it's a very awesome peice. It was the 2nd peice of Dredg material I heard, next to Catch Without Arms.
|
Sadly Sigur ros is one of the bands that I haven't gotten into yet.. () is on my to buy list at the moment

I enjoy it alot though.. And that instrumental second track is awesome |
Yeah, the title track is my favorite track of the three. :p I was just talking about it in another thread, but just the wierd assortment of insturments makes it one of the most interesting and unique songs I've heard.
|
Any ideas on what H is exactly about?
|
I <3 Otherside. Thanks for the Radiohead stuff! I actually didn't have this album, they do have so many b-sides and unoffical/prommo type releases though I'm not suprised. Made my evening matey.
|
Exactly? Of course not. But my guess is that it's either about one of these two things:
1. A mutual dividing of a long relationship. 2. His son Devo. I'm not going to go into details, but draw from it what you will. |

Have you heard their even earlier demo, Conscious? It's a little less developed than Orph, but in a similar style. It's also not quite as varied as Orph. The songs are just pure energy, though, and I love listening to it. I like the sound of Gavin's really raw, unproduced vocals on the stuff up to Leitmotif. |

A relationship so deep you have to kill the one you love to escape from the pit of darkness you've sucked yourself into. |
Otherside, can I get ( ) from you via YSI or AIM?
My AIM is Cnrd9590. |

I don't think they ever had a different singer.
|
There's a blog on Adam's MySpace....Aaron from Isis visted Tool during recording.....so that could hint at an Isis-Tool tour.
|
The scream on the Orph E.P. kind of annoyed me. Otherwise everything was genious. That's what my band sounds alot like.
|
Oh my god, I just d/led the Catch Without Arms album, and parts of it blew me away. The first Dredg release thats done that. This album is really good, they're definately coming into their own.
|
Odd, because it was the opposite for me. Speaking in terms of their three major-label releases, the only one that didn't blow me away was CWoA. Some songs, such as Bug Eyes, Jamais Vu, Zebraskin, and Sang Real did, but as a whole, not. El Cielo absolutely left me floored, and Leitmotif was far greater than I ever expected it to be.
