Haha, sounds like we're talking about the flower. I bought minf for $17 and FYE. FYE has tons of good CDs, but are so overpriced.
Yeah they are, they have the entire Dark Tranquillity discography, but it's all like $17-$19.... luckily the one in my area sells based on release date, so old stuff is cheaper (wtf?) Skydancer was like $15, and Of Chaos And Eternal Night was like $10.

TojesDolan 08-19-2006 02:23 AM

I'm getting some good Napalm Death for $5.

hollowpainting 08-19-2006 02:40 AM

I've bought their albums on amazon. It's shocking you folks haven't tried online shopping considering you're already online.

Carrionshine 08-19-2006 04:25 AM

I clearly remember posting a list of my order of hearing Opeth cds. It's gone.

The Sandman 08-19-2006 04:25 AM

I need to try and pick up Damnation sometime in the very near future.

You should, dude, it's a great album. Even though I've listened to it like 500 times, it's still great.

All Opeth albums are great. Even if some are less great than others.

Spoonful of Shame 08-19-2006 11:59 AM

I agree. I just don't listen to much off of Morningrise or Orchid but they are still good albums.

TojesDolan 08-19-2006 12:15 PM

Morningrise grew on me through "The night and the silent water".

pate 08-19-2006 12:35 PM

IMO that's by far the best Morningrise track.

Shadows 08-19-2006 12:36 PM

All of the Morningrise tracks are amazing except Black Rose Immortal, which soundslike a sloppy composition to me.

pate 08-19-2006 12:37 PM

Yeah. It pisses me off that so many people think BRI is the greatest track ever. The only reason that they say that is its length.

Darkness 08-19-2006 03:45 PM

^Yeah, but I do really like some parts of the song.

Stoo 08-19-2006 03:50 PM

No. I love Black Rose Immortal. But it would be different if it were shorter, so therefore... I like the length of it...

I totally freaking agree.

Daven 08-19-2006 04:01 PM

To Bid You Farewell is definitely my favorite track off Morningrise

AA-12 08-19-2006 04:17 PM

^Same

Nostalgia 08-19-2006 05:06 PM

Yeah, that's a great song. Definitely the best on Morningrise.

JamJar 08-19-2006 05:21 PM

TBYF is the only song from the first two albums that I regularly listen to.

Not true

I love all the parts of it, especially the acoustic parts.

=-fukifiknow-= 08-19-2006 11:07 PM

you cant say "nope this one is the best" because everyone will have different oppionions, perhaps this is why we are such big opeth fans because there are so many elements and different fascets to each of their songs that they appeal to different people for different reasons.

it seams to me, each week i have a new oppinion or which opeth song "is their best"

UpperDecker 08-19-2006 11:48 PM

Their best is either The Moor, April Ethereal, To Bid You Farewell, Demon of The Fall, Night and Silent Fart, Still Day Beneath The Sun, and Ghost of Perdition. I think thats a good list, Honorable Mention: Deliverance and The Apostle In Triumph.

No - their best tracks are Deliverance, To Bid You Farewell, Windowpane, Harlequin Forest, Master's Apprentices, Bleak, The Drapery Falls and Harvest.

Ooops, look! Another divergence of opinion!

I agree with whoever said that "best" is pointless - we all have our own, and they're all equally valid:)

That's the song I listen to the most from the first two albums, but songs like "In The Mist She Was Standing" and "The Night and the Silent Water" are still incredible tracks.

Stoo 08-20-2006 10:29 AM

\m/ BLEAK! \m/

Haha, always a positive mention. That song seems to be the catalyst for getting people into Opeth...myself included.

With me it was the Damnation album, plus Bleak and Harvest

Txus 08-20-2006 10:55 AM

TBYF was the song that got me into Opeth.
