I want the Crossroads box set. Does anyone know how much it costs?

Against Miik! 12-12-2004 07:43 PM

Every era of Clapton has its good and bad, but Cream is definitely my favorite, as well as unplugged.

I got mine for a little less than 60 bucks.

lunch998 12-12-2004 07:46 PM

I mainly like the "classic rock" era of Clapton, there are some shining spots in his other eras though.

clown_phobia 12-12-2004 07:49 PM

like "tears in heaven"

BludgeonySteve 12-12-2004 07:58 PM

I don't know what that is really. He has some "soft rock" rock stuff. If you're into ballads then get "Pilgrim".

Any good stories?

As far as music wise, In 2004 it was wonderful when they had a huge jam between Les Claypool, Trey Anastasio, Warren Haynes, and Chris Robinson. It was one of the greatest jams I have ever heard.

Highlight Sets:

Galactic (nothing better than a galactic late night show)
Les Claypool (the closer)
Widespread panic
Medeski, Martin, and Wood
Leftover Salmon (made me change the way I look at this band)

But the best thing that has happened at Bonnarroo was when I had the chance to meet Trey Anastasio. This was made possible because my friend's cousin helps set up equipment for Trey. Even though, Trey really didn't have that great of a performance at the show, It was still a great experience to meet him. I have pictures I'll try and post them sometime.

The only bad part about it was the smell, it smelled of about 3,000 hippies that havent showered for about a week.

As for 2003 its mostly a blurr( :smoke: ), I really wish I wouldn't have done that now.

Oh my god! That's like umm, really good n stuff!

You have some stuff in there that I can't see you listening to. Were those from before you became a classic rock/hippy guy?

Badmoon 12-12-2004 09:44 PM

I liked Classic Rock before any of those.

Did you not like Leftover Salmon?

Their live albums and stuff > Recorded stuff

^ By a mile.

I've miss-judged you :).

Seriously, System Of A Down? Did you get that free or something?

Badmoon 12-12-2004 09:58 PM

On sale, but some of it's pretty good.

BludgeonySteve 12-12-2004 10:00 PM

You gave The Soft Bulletin 4 stars, and Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots 4 1/2 stars. Weren't you the one who used to tell me that Yoshimi sucks compared to the rest of the Flaming Lips stuff?

BludgeonySteve 12-12-2004 10:13 PM

Yes, and what about the Dream Theater? That's pretty much their best album, did you think that was any good?

(gilmour, i'm going to smack you if you campaigne in my thread anymore)

Badmoon 12-12-2004 10:13 PM
Interesting. Do you like it?
Yeah, it has some good songs and is really interesting. I'm mostly concerned with the vocals when it comes to Tool. I do believe that Aenima is not as good as most say it is though.

My thoughts on certain albums change frequently. The turning point for my thoughts on Yoshimi was when I heard most of those songs live, and really liked them.
Yes, and what about the Dream Theater? That's pretty much their best album, did you think that was any good?
Instrumentally the album is great, there are a few good tunes, but the lead singers voice is very cheesy. Similar to Stephen Perry's of Journey. Petrucci also has one of the most generic guitar tones ever.

Ah.

Well 'tis a good album. :D

(Seeing the FLips live = lucky bastard)

 Im doing it in all of R&M

Certain songs on the album I really like, the rest are meh to me. Too tr00 about it being overhyped.

Now to be on topic of classic rock: I am thinking of getting an Allman Brothers Band album. I was thinking of getting Eat a Peach, good idea?

The funny thing is I can actually smack him.

Badmoon 12-12-2004 10:18 PM

No, I just downloaded some stuff. Perry Farell robbed my chance of seeing them live :(.

BludgeonySteve 12-12-2004 10:19 PM

Badmoon: oh okays.

Gilmour: Eat A Peach is their best.

Guitarguy: do that for me please :)

Yeah, Eat a Peach is fabulous. It contains every form of music they would play.
