i mastered the song and it sounds more clear aside from some peaking at times from elim not eqing it that great.
you don't have the original master files the master files were compressed into a degraded file format there is not a damn thing you can do to master that degraded file format without further destroying it |
not true
btw i am prepared to argue w u |
how
if he amplifies the volume or offsets the EQ it affects the entire mix and you have no control over it, it's impossible to fine tune and master correctly the difference between destructive and non-destructive editing is near enough the first thing they teach you when it comes to tampering with anything professionally whether it's sound, audio or video. you can't do a single thing with a finalised mixdown into two stereo channels with all it's overlapping frequencies without destroying it |
thats nonsense all you have to do to remaster something is add more treble and make it louder
|
brent can you teach me about remastering to higher bitrates
|
if you don't do it properly adjusting each track from their source files individually as necessary it fucks with the overall dynamics. It's not just a case of loading an mp3 into an audio editing program, messing with the EQ a little, boosting the volume and saying it's done. This is destructive editing, it's sloppy, introduces artifacts and affects all kinds of frequencies that should be left alone.
|
which button adds the treble
|
you need the Korg Treblestation VST RRP $99.95
inside there is a big red button that trebles |
if theres too much treble can i just faggot about like brent shannon
|
how did you do that post
|
My phone had a fart, i am sorry. First time i've a double post delay that long

we finished tracking my bands demo, gonna get it mixed and mastered by the end of next week hopefully
we jury rigged a lot of shit but its gonna sound pretty decent for a demo |
We just recently uploaded my bands EP onto bandcamp.
It's not typically my style but it's decent for what it is and I enjoy playing shows and such. Not really my type of metalcore but I guess it's the closest thing to a compromise my band could come up with. http://encompass1.bandcamp.com/album/a-grief-observed |

the 2 guitarists have a lot of connections
we're doing a pittsburgh show next weekend and a weekend tour of maryland jersey and philly the weekend of the 30th |
whats the poitn of getting a demo mastered
|
mainly just cause the dude that helped us record wants to mess around with it
and the tracks are pretty good sounding for a demo |
