aids just knows about those bands becuase he's seen me namedrop them.

shut up aids.

also Toejes, I realized that you can check reps so you just downloaded the link I left in the elite people's reps, so **** off, that is the only reason you know Blasphemophagher but I won't be leaving any more reps so your tie to eliteness is now severed.
My heart is broken.

Like An Ever Flowing Stream seems pretty good after a first complete listen. Was interested to find out that Nicke Andersson of Entombed wrote virtually all the leads. Question: I recall someone stating that Dismember's vocals differed on their early demos; were they in the vein of those found on the bonus track Defective Decay?

Tyler 07-19-2007 05:47 PM

The Chasm's "Form The Curse, A Scourge" is too ****ing good. I love instrumentals like this.

TojesDolan 07-19-2007 05:48 PM

Same mindless whacking except their lyrics were about fornicating corpses or something.

Tyler 07-19-2007 05:52 PM

tojes check out the Chasm, they're mexican. The Spell Of Retribution is kool.

TojesDolan 07-19-2007 05:57 PM

I have, I'm listening to it again right about now.

It's alright, I mean. It's not different from things I usually listen to.

Although I'd bet three million pesos that if I say it's OK Dargon will be like "urgh they made a demo back in 1986 and that was when they were good and they are crap now and everything you can get from them is crap except elite things I have urgh urgh urgh".

QFT.

Anyway, my new favorite DM album is Let Us Pray, although I seriously dislike Jeff's vocals.

The intro riff to Reaching the Veil of Death made me set my livingroom on fire. If you like them check out Serpens Aeon, it has members of the Chasm in there and its pretty good. I also recommend Ancient Gods or Infinitum Obscure.

TojesDolan 07-19-2007 06:12 PM

I'll look for them when I have some free time. :-D

Poofy 666 07-19-2007 06:24 PM

Feel free to ask if you want any stuff :)

NP: Ravager - Blasphemic Iniquity
The original vocalist of Disgorge is in here but he doesn't do the crazy growls :(

Oh well, its good anyways.

I like their albums, but that's a brilliant idea. I'll hunt down their demos ASAP.

Shred Danson 07-19-2007 08:03 PM

Mexican metal makes me chuckle.

i am the robots 07-19-2007 09:15 PM

Too many scene Mexicans from Arizona shitting up the name of hardcore and death metal by playing fake metalcore too. My one friend moved down there and he keeps sending me these new bands and they all sound like As I Lay Dying with inhales.
Toss in some non-death metal influence into a death metal band and people whine and complain.
I agree. I also noticed new generic stuff isn't allowed, but old bands that sound exactly like other old bands are awesome.

Oh well. The Faceless have their moments, but some of their songs are really bogus.

Animosity is probably the best band in that scene.

Nepenthe 07-19-2007 10:28 PM

animostiy i s the ****

Apocalyptic Raids 07-19-2007 11:23 PM
back in the elite days on The Black Pages I used to talk about those bands all the time and you went and checked them out.
you rec'd me a lot of stuff, that's true, but you weren't my only source of music. I got most of my obscure stuff off DC++ anyway, without you needing to mention them.

Oh, no you didn't.....

VomitStainedCretin 07-20-2007 04:48 AM

I can't wait until the southern US is heavily inundated with wetbacks that it rejoins Mexico. It's going to be very funny.

Dargon II 07-20-2007 05:57 AM
Animosity is probably the best band in that scene.
that nu band called Animosity is some of the worst mallcore I've ever heard, and it's annoying becuase I like an old band called Animosity, who are also from USA, and whever I listen to them kiddies are always like "FUKKEN SIK BRAH THAT ANIMOSITY IS FUKKEN TYTE SHIZZ DAWG" \m/_ (///_O) _\m/

Squirrel 07-20-2007 09:08 AM

Everything else aside, I do think Animosity's drummer is pretty talented.

he layz down sum mad phat beatz, nigga. dem gravity rollz b fukken insane

Squirrel 07-20-2007 09:12 AM

Im not aware he uses gravity rolls.

Poofy 666 07-20-2007 01:26 PM

I think gravity rolls actually sound cool when used tastefully (Monstrosity, some Vornagar) but the majority of the bands completely misuse it (Beneath the Massacre).

NP: Abhorrence - Caught in a Vortex

Shattered_Future 07-20-2007 01:29 PM

But once again, Beneath The Massacre are a ****ing terrible excuse for music.

I don't really remember the old Animosity, my friend Andrew showed me them a while ago, but yeah, IDK. I like the death metal Animosity a lot, and I have for a while... On the bright side, they were only like 15 when they started, so they probably didn't even realize the name was taken.
Everything else aside, I do think Animosity's drummer is pretty talented.
Seriously, their drummer is amazing.

Eliminator 07-20-2007 01:32 PM

they played a show in my town w/ jfac lol
