i own both a P and a Jazz bass (both fender) and i will stand by this...Jazz basses have a more rich tone and sound overall stronger, but P-basses play twice as easy and you can gain more speed on them.
how? that got to be straight forward playing.. cause they arent created to be technical on :p (the neck is to fat..) |
if it ahs a fat nek you cnat play tecnicle. i cant do much on the higer frets because of mys mal fingers and the neck widening so if sumthign has a wide neck you cant be technicle on it because you need to get your fingers properly over it all so it myust be standard playong. but if somthign has a fat neck its hard to reach even for standard playign on the e string

My personal fave is cradle's hallowed... but I love remember tomorrow and indeed the whole first album so i'll check it out there is a tribute to maiden CD available somewhere... |

No-one can cover maiden it just wrong...
Cradle aren't that bad...but they shouldnt have covered hallowed by thy name its just not thir style |
Personally, I love Opeth's cover of Remember Tomorrow.
Hell yeh, that's a great cover. :thumb: |
Nobody knows how to cover Iron Maiden correctly because they're not used to letting their bassist be so far up in the mix. Except that little Dream Theater cover; they've got a good enough bassist to actually pull off The Trooper, as well as pretty much every other Maiden song.
|
well, he aint to loud him either :p
|
didn't arch enemy cover aces high?
|
Bad idea covering the highest pitched scream in a maiden song
I havent heard the version but if he can get the end scream right then all credit to the vocalist |
she growls... like an man...
oh well... there's a moral to that story don't bother covering maiden if you cant sing it... |
So how did everyone hear get into Iron Maiden.
I was browsing Best Buy one day when one of here albums caught my eye. So I bought it and ever since then they have been my favorite. |
my uncle introduced me to maiden. he aws in a maiden cover band.
so yeah yesterday i went to the music store and saw they only had 3 maiden cd's. so i bought them all haha |
Like many new Maiden fans, I heard "Two Minutes to Midnight" on Vice City and was blown away. I was looking to play the bass, and I had never heard a heavy metal song with so much bass in it. I had to have it!
|
how many guitarists are in iron maiden
So how did everyone hear get into Iron Maiden.
I was browsing Best Buy one day when one of here albums caught my eye. So I bought it and ever since then they have been my favorite.
It was the first time I heard Hallowed Be Thy Name, I think I listened to that song 5 times in a row, I couldn't get enough! I was hooked, and before you know it I'm collecting all their albums and DVD's. So far I've got CD's Iron Maiden (s/t) to Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, but they have alot of CDs. Best part of Maiden is there no Maiden era I hate or dislike, except maybe the short Blaze era, but even then some of the guitar and instrument work is nice and worth a listen. Maiden forever! :thumb: |
huh..i dont know how i become that major maiden fan i am now  for about 2 - 3 years ago i used to realy dislike em :p i think i become fan when i burned the "best of the beast" record to hear more of what they where...well, i think it was running free live on that album that made me an maiden fan, becouse i dont realy remember any other songs that far back :p
|
I can't remember exactly it was that long ago. I think I probably heard Run to the Hills somewhere, and thought this is good. I do remember buying Number Of The Beast and loving Hallowed Be Thy Name
|
ohhhhhhhhhhhh i thought it was just 2
It used to be until Blaze left, and Bruce came back and then Adrian Smith came back and they done the Brave New World album with the 3 guitarist. |
ohhhhhhhhhhhh i thought it was just 2
lol i like your ohhhhhhhhhh yea it's three now with Bruch and Smith |
i heard "bring your daughter" on kerrang, and thought it was ok... but then i heard "run to the hills" on the same channel, and was amazed - i went out and bought 'NOTB', and was blown away. I've been hooked since.
It used to be until Blaze left, and Bruce came back and then Adrian Smith came back and they done the Brave New World album with the 3 guitarist.
originally- Dave Murray and Dennis Stratton (iron maiden) the classic years- Adrian Smith and Dave Murray (killers-seventh son...) the 90's- Dave Murray and Janick Gers (no prayer... - virtual X1) the full lineup- Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, and Janick Gers (brave new world- ? ) Bruce wouldnt come back in the band unless Adrian came back as well, which i think really helped get the "true" Maiden sound back, as Adrian is such a big part of their sound. |
copying my mate's Number of the beast album...
hallowed be thy name. no words express how good that song is... |
i accidentally said to my friend one day about 3 years ago "i like iron maiden so much" (i meant to say "iron man" by black sabbath"), then a few days later, he buys me Killers for my birthday :smoke: been in love ever since :smoke:
|
ahh killers...
another life is so good |
My first Maiden song was Caught Somewhere in Time, I adore the beggining. I like Paul Di'Anno's voice but Bruce is good too.
|
ahh killers...
another life is so good
Another Life and Drifter are my two fav's from that album :thumb: |

Caught somewhere in time is one of my favourite tracks (although my fave track changes every time i listen to them!), i just love the solos! they are like 6 and a half days long! fantastic song. :D |
Another Life and Drifter are my two fav's from that album :thumb:
yeah i also like twiglight zone... |
I like Paul Di'Anno's voice but Bruce is good too.
I think that both Paul and Blaze have got good voices, but to me Bruce is the voice of Maiden, and if I hear any Maiden that isn't Bruce's voice, it just doesn't give off the same impact. |

yeah listen to Bruce singing Prowler or remember tomorrow from Paul or Sign of the cross from Blaze it just sounds more like Maiden |
lol
yea it's three now with Bruch and Smith
:amaze: |
i don't like twilight zone that much, dunno why, best on that album are drifter, title track and prodigal son (i'm a sucker for the 12-string acoustic).
but the first album is better. |
****ing hell! heard my first Maiden song when I was 10. It happened to be Can I Play With Madness, which I still love. Oh yeah, Frail, I ****ing love Drifter man! it's a classic.
