Nevermore -

I, Voyager
The River Dragon Has Come

ATM 07-20-2005 11:08 PM

I'm looking for a band with heavy riffs, but vocals that arent growling or screaming. Maybe something along the lines of Alice in Chains.

Any ideas?

Need your help guys

I've been a fan of Mr. Big since my childhood years. i really wanna play their music. I can play some like green tinted, just take my heart, alive n' kicken, etc. But the other songs are just too tough to learn by ear. Maybe you guys can help me. I wanna play their songs like, How does it feel, Stay together, Take Cover, etc. normally, those bass and guitar tabs that are also hard to find on the internet. I'm a bassist by the way. and we really like their music. Anybody here who can help me???pls email me at jepittio@yahoo.com thanks guys

Doom metal? Or the heavier end of stoner rock.

If you haven't already give Down a listen to.
Also try Grand Magus, Spiritual Beggars, Clutch. and Ornage Goblin. Some of the stuff may not be as heavy as you're looking for, but it's all good none the less :)

Dream Evil? They're pretty heavy.

Stoic 07-21-2005 01:49 PM

^but not depressive (like AIC) at all :p

True...if you want some cheese with unbelievable music, DE is the way to go. :thumb:

The heavier end of stoner rock.

Oops, when I said something like Alice in Chains, I just meant clean vocals. I want something with heavier riffs then them.
If you haven't already give Down a listen to.

Spiritual Beggars own. I downloaded an mp3 you put in the community thread, put it on a CD and blasted it driving around. Good times.

Bartender 07-21-2005 02:05 PM

Well, I was recommending both. Candlemass, Solitude Aeturnus, Mannhai, and Halfway To Gone are the only names coming to mind for me at the moment (first two doom metal, the others not).

ATM 07-21-2005 02:10 PM

Are Halfway to Gone the blues-sounding band?

Bartender 07-21-2005 05:33 PM

Depends which songs you're hearing. They have a couple of acoustic, bluesy tracks, but mostly they play heavy rock'n'roll/stoner rock. Great instrumentals, too. I'd upload some tracks, but I can't from this connection at the moment.

Grey Incision 07-24-2005 04:15 AM

Anything really obscure, as in extremely obscure.

Stoic 07-24-2005 04:37 AM

this is a bit confusing...Obscure in what way, could you give some band examples?

Grey Incision 07-24-2005 04:45 AM

hmm, the most obscure music off the top of my head is

Mr. bungle-Ars Moriendi
Spiral architect-Insect
Porcupine tree-Burning sky

Basically, music which seems very surreal

Stoic 07-24-2005 05:08 AM

Spastic Ink might work for you...

FlyingPaul_83 07-24-2005 09:33 AM

can you recommend me some arch enemy?

The Cynic 07-24-2005 03:05 PM
can you recommend me some arch enemy?
Get Wages of Sin for the Angela era. As for Burining Bridges and Stigmata, you'll have to ask someone else. Heard some of thier stuff but I have other Cd's on my list before them. Anthems Of Rebellion is good as well but I find it to get boring after the first 4 songs.

Recommended songs:

Burning Angel
Enemy Within
Dead Eyes See No Future
Shadows and Dust
Ravenous
Saints and Sinners

AA-12 07-24-2005 03:06 PM

I need some metal similiar to Opeth.

Bartender 07-24-2005 09:01 PM

Farmakon. And maybe Agalloch. Did you get an account merge?
hmm, the most obscure music off the top of my head is

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum.

AA-12 07-24-2005 09:02 PM

Yeah, I did. Thanks for the bands, i'll check them out.

Bartender 07-24-2005 09:07 PM

Weren't you banned for using a postcount generator?

Apocalyptic Raids 07-24-2005 10:32 PM
Weren't you banned for using a postcount generator?
I think he got the posts from that account before the bot merged into his newer one.

Talos 07-25-2005 01:46 PM
