I'd like the get the Trivium haters vs. Trivium lovers argument done now, that way we can stop with this, and when someone says I hate Trivium because they copied Metallica we can just tell them to look back a few pages.

Well, if those are the teams then I guess I'm not involved, because I neither love nor hate them. I just think they are a pretty good band, definately one of the better mainstream American bands.

My official opinion about them is that Ascendancy had one good song, and everything else sounded the same. Yes they can solo, but it's boring a repetitive after a while. The vocals, are just ugh. I hate his scream, it's horrible, I'm glad he busted it I couldn't stand listening to them with that voice. And his clean voice was average at best, there are better and worse out there. As for the new album, from what I've heard it sounds like crap. I haven't heard the majority of it though. His vocals are still really bad, they sound like a crappy version of an already crappy vocalist (Hetfield).

Thank you. That was probably the most informative anti Trivium post I've ever read, although I still think it is lacking. Exactly why do people hate Heafy's voice so much? It's generic, yes, it's nothing impressive, no, but I don't think it is by any means bad.

Reasons I hate his voice: His tone gets on my nerves, and that's because he did it incorrectly, he sounds like he's squawking. I don't like it for the same reasons people don't like Alex from Atreyu. His tone is annoying. And for his cleans, it's incredibly mediocre, there are so many better vocalists, yes there are worse but I still say Heafy's below average to average.

Well of course, Heafy's voice is the definition of average, but there's plenty of bands that I listen to with [I]below[/I] average vocals, so Heafy's voice in no way ruins Trivium for me.

Now the Atreyu guy, his voice [I]is[/I] annoying. The squawking thing is at it's worst in his vocal chords.

Those are actually my two favorite songs on Ascendancy. But AGTTHOT's harmony solo is a total rip-off of Bark at the Moons outro solo.

The end lick in Bark at the Moon is almost identical to the end lick of DIYA's solo, hold for a nice fill at the end of each lick in DIYA's.

I don't really care about live shows. You see that once, but you listen to it on cd countless times.

What songs do you guys show their best guitar work? From Ascendancy I would say, Gunshot's solos and harmony section, Declaration as a whole, because of it's various riffs and the song's structure, and the solo from Drowned and Torn Asunder. Of the songs on Ember to Inferno, I would say To Burn the Eye.

Anthem sounds nothing like Metallica. It has more of a 'Black sabbath', 'Dio', 'Maiden' feel to it.

Don't have much to say, just that Trivium are great! Awsome sound, and i know there isn't much i can say that hasn't been said, but keep it up!

so far detonation and anthem dont look to great

but entrance of the conflagration is a sick *** song, and travis's dad said that he thought detonation was the weakest track.

Anthem is just a cheesy 80s metal song, and it isnt even that catchy. The chrous's from ascendancy are much more infectious than what ive heard so far off the crusade, but the album all and all looks really promising.

I really like Detonation. I like it more than most tracks off of Ascendancy.
