you just not multi-talented like us :p
what do you think are good pickups for this kid... he wants good solid clean but be able to have some heavy distortion without too much feed back

Hells Bells 07-18-2005 08:39 PM

wow, all this talk about guitars..
My main instrument is and probably always will be the keyboard, but I've wanted to get into guitar for a while. Right now all I have is an acoustic, which isn't bad. I really want to get an electric though...but I'm pitifully broke because of school. Can anyone recommend some relatively inexpensive guitars that sound good?
Whoever the **** made this thread is a dip****. Does there really have to be a ****ing (___________________________________OMGLOOKATMEEEEEE___________________________________) in the front?
Who cares? It's just a thread title. As long as it applies to what is being talked about in the thread then it shouldnt matter.

AA-12 07-18-2005 08:40 PM

I'm getting ready to buy a set of DiMarzio pickups. Air Zone and Air Norton.

Carlo Robelli has some nice sound, youll probably get some beef over it , Other wise another cheap or I should say inexspensive guitar is a brownsville, actually the bat is the only one that sounds good.

i ask myself this but all i can say is its all about the way you want it to sound

Shattered_Future 07-18-2005 08:48 PM

If Gibson sells pickups, get those...

Some of the best clean tones you'll ever hear, and great distorted tone too...it's so thick.

AA-12 07-18-2005 08:50 PM

I <3 my SG. I can get a perfect Laiho sound on it.

Shattered_Future 07-18-2005 08:51 PM

I love my Paul...

Great sound for a great price. $1300 used and it was in perfect condition...no scratches, scuffs, even dings in the finish. Looked like it came right out of the box.

"we are going to play some licks for ya...fast and shlow (sylvester stallone lip motion)

Hells Bells 07-18-2005 09:07 PM

Well, going with what other people on this thread have been suggesting, I started using soulseek. I actually found stuff off of Celtic Frost's Into the Pandemonium, which I haven't been able to find anywhere :D

Anyway, I did a quick search on both, and the only thing I can find by Carlo Robelli is acoustics. I'd have to find more out about the bat though...so far it fits what I need, it's an electric, it's cheap, and apparently it sounds half decent.

IheartSP 07-18-2005 09:07 PM

I'm Alexi from *really fast* Sinergy and Children of Boodom.

I can't stand that movie...

Can't watch more than a minute of it because it skips so horribly on my computer...does anybody have this in .mpg or .mpeg?

Forlorn Hope 07-18-2005 09:21 PM

i like it but ites kinda hard to learn from it...cooler just to watch and wish

Hells Bells 07-18-2005 09:36 PM

haha I love Alexi's accent :p

I've already seen part of this video, except the quality was atrocious. And Shattered_Future, there are a lot of programs that allow you to convert .avi files to .mpeg. I haven't tried any of them so I wouldn't know what to recommend.

 Sounds exactly like me. Alexi's accent is hilarious. The way he says "fast and shlooow", and "I'm Alexi from Sinergy and Children of (add thick, terrible Canadian accent) Booodom". So, so funny.

I then I realize I lost track of time posting on these stupid boards and leaves to practice guitar.

Yeah, that was my favorite part of the video. I already had the first part of them playing but that's it. I didn't have nything extra.

Again, I haven't tried it, so I won't know how well it will work. Enjoy the video :p

Moses 07-19-2005 11:54 AM

The keyboardist pwns Alexi.

hethamulburton 07-19-2005 11:56 AM

Yes but Alexi sings and plays guitar, that is what most people in this world care about, I guess. I agree, the keyboard guy shreds on an instrument with even sized keys, all laid out, that's ****ing hard.

AA-12 07-19-2005 11:57 AM

Anyone can be the fastest at their instrument though. Alexi writes all the keyboard music, so technically he's better.

flamesofbodom 07-19-2005 11:58 AM

Yeah, look at Yngwie. Nothing new at all, just sped up blues. But then there's Jeff Beck. He doesnt play fast and makes beautiful songs

AA-12 07-19-2005 11:59 AM

Meh, I find Malmsteen insteresting and a great listen.

EDIT: Blues? He uses mostly classical playing.

Didn't know that, sorry. :thumb:
I like Yngwie a lot, but I agree that he plays fast too much, he needs some slower songs, like more Black Star- like songs.
Slow solos impress me more than fast ones, just because they have more time to leave an impact on you. Like Comfortably Numb gives me chills when I hear the end solo, but COB stuff gives a quick wow that guys good, and that's it til you hear it again.

flamesofbodom 07-19-2005 12:00 PM

Yeah but still. All he does is play fast. Not too much emotion or anything like with other guitarists

AA-12 07-19-2005 12:00 PM
Didn't know that, sorry. :thumb:
Not a problem :)

AA-12 07-19-2005 12:01 PM
Yeah but still. All he does is play fast. Not too much emotion or anything like with other guitarists
He does more than play fast. The not too much emotion thing is invalid also.

flamesofbodom 07-19-2005 12:02 PM

Ah, whatever. I guess i just dont get a kick out of him

Hells Bells 07-19-2005 12:11 PM

I thought it was that Alexi writes music for the guitar, and then Janne follows what he's doing...on the keys  I'm not sure about the keyboard solos though.
