huh?

I was talking about Permanent Revolution.
I was talking about Permanent Revolution.
oh. I havnt heard about this album. i must get it.

lynch_me 06-03-2006 04:26 PM

catch 22 are now a boring rock band with horns thrown in.

AIRIC 06-03-2006 04:27 PM

Kind of like Big D.

comptonassrobert 06-03-2006 08:54 PM

I even liked Catch 22 for the first album after Tomas left. But when the second singer left and the sax player started singing, they got pretty horrible.

White stained lips is a shitty song.
Kind of like Big D.
Do they actually sound like Big D?

I know this isn't what you were aiming for, but Big D and the Kids Table is probably my favorite band with Streetlight Manifesto right behind them.

I've never heard new Catch 22, mostly because I've heard so many people say how terrible they are, but If they actually sound like Big D, I think I might enjoy them.

No they're worse than Big D.

What I was getting at was that Big D aren't really a ska band.. just a pop-punk band with horns.

Henrik 06-05-2006 08:44 AM

I think the new catch 22 album has a very cool album cover.

Liebensaft 06-05-2006 01:11 PM

After a quick amazon search, I'd agree.

jettadude77 06-05-2006 01:27 PM

is the album any good?

AIRIC 06-05-2006 02:33 PM

Meh.. not really.

jettadude77 06-05-2006 03:45 PM

how long do you think streetlight will get on this reel big fish tour? i'm guessing/hoping 40 minutes

Mostly... but there are a few ska songs thrown in... You Lost, You're Crazy is pretty good.

Henrik 06-05-2006 04:46 PM

I like what I've heard of Big D... What's their best album?

Catchthe22 06-05-2006 05:55 PM
I like what I've heard of Big D... What's their best album?
Good Luck is really good and lots say it is a must own ska album. Ive hear some of their new stuff and it is pretty good but i have yet to get one of their later albums

Catchthe22 06-05-2006 10:00 PM
is the album any good?
Permanent Revolution is good. One of the better mainstream ska albums in the last couple years. It's a darker sound and overall better sound than Dinosaur Sounds and competes with Alone In the Crowd I would say. One thing I will say is that if you strongly hated Dinosaur Sounds, this album probably isnt going to change your views too much on the new Catch 22. However, it is better and different, so still worth a listen. When it is released and reviewed I plan on giving it a solid 4. Better than OK, but not Great.

i like both good luck and how it goes, they are similar and different. good luck has a bunch of my favorites like can't be caught and 51 gardener. how it goes has 20 songs and i like most all of them, that's just me though.

Henrik 06-06-2006 12:35 PM

So How it Goes has a lot of good songs and good Luck has a few awesome songs on it???

NEDM 06-06-2006 01:41 PM

I just recently got into Streetlight Manifesto. I must say that they are simply amazing. I have yet to hear any Bandits Of The Acoustic Revolution, but I look forward to it when I have the time to download an album or something.

There's a 5-track EP, that's it. One track is the original "Here's to Life", another is a cover of "Dear Sergio", and one is an intro. It's called "A Call to Arms", and it was just released by Victory (originally it was all hand-done...there's only a few out there..probably a couple hundred...anyone know?)

Henrik 06-06-2006 04:36 PM

Someone in this thread once told me that there were about 200 copies... But I am not sure though. I would love to have an original copy...

FauxApathy 06-06-2006 05:25 PM

I just ordered the EP yesterday since I couldn't get my hands on an original...

As to the big d question, How It Goes is my favorite album.

Henrik 06-07-2006 02:57 AM

I would have ordered the ep some time ago, but the shipping just turned out very expensive.

jettadude77 06-07-2006 01:14 PM
So How it Goes has a lot of good songs and good Luck has a few awesome songs on it???
no, good luck is awesome. i've just listened to how it goes more often. listen to them both. now.

Brady234 06-07-2006 02:02 PM

I have an original BOTAR EP. I was under the impression there were a few thousand out there, though.

Henrik 06-07-2006 02:04 PM

How did you get it? Sounds really cool.

maco 06-07-2006 07:50 PM
I would have ordered the ep some time ago, but the shipping just turned out very expensive.
I would have ordered it a while ago but their stupid ordering site thing didn't work forever and now that it does, they don't take checks. Stupid stupid thing...the Static Age's webstore is credit-card only as well

Brady234 06-07-2006 09:44 PM

They were selling from the BOTAR or RISC website when it first released for a while. Everyone that looks at my cds comments about it because it sticks out pretty obviously.

Henrik 06-08-2006 07:36 AM

As long as you realise how lucky you are it's fair.

Ghostfire3 06-13-2006 04:23 PM

Is A Call to Arms BOTAR's only release?

Brain Toad 06-13-2006 04:25 PM

Yes.

Henrik 06-14-2006 06:14 AM

The rumours say they will have a new full length out this year.

Deconstruction 06-14-2006 11:07 AM
The rumours say they will have a new full length out this year.
I dont think they are rumors. I thought the website qouted Tom saying there would be more material out this year..

jettadude77 06-14-2006 11:58 AM
I dont think they are rumors. I thought the website qouted Tom saying there would be more material out this year..
though i would love to believe this, they've pushed back release dates for awhile now, i will wait until victory records has it advertised like they did with keasbey nights before i believe anything.

iliketoplaydrums10111 06-14-2006 12:20 PM

If BOTAR and Streetlight released a full lenght album this year I would cry.

Catchthe22 06-14-2006 05:11 PM

Streetlight updated their website with tour dates but without a new blog. I think Tomas is ashamed because the album will not come out till next year.

AIRIC 06-14-2006 06:14 PM

Still not coming back here.

Nannou 06-14-2006 07:44 PM

I like Streetlight Manifesto a lot. I got their record recently (Everything Goes Numb). Every song is good. There isn't a bad track on it. In a couple weeks I get the privelage to see them with Reel Big Fish and MxPx.

Mute Print 06-14-2006 07:45 PM

I'm seeing them on their tour with Reel Big Fish as well. Should be a good time.

smokersdieyounger 06-15-2006 08:50 AM

Where are they on tour at the moment? I finally got my copy of 'everything goes numb' and I cant stop listening to it, why is MX right about everything?
