Hot Cross and Me And Him Call It Us are putting out albums this year.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 05-30-2005 12:36 PM

Oh cool. At the end of the year we should have a "Best Albums of the Year" poll/thread.

I was typing this essay and I was supposed to type 'grandma' but instead I typed 'grandcore' by accident.

That's because they rule. Too bad its only an EP. and I've already heard all the new songs.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 05-30-2005 02:33 PM

o are the songs good?

RetiredAt21 05-30-2005 04:45 PM

Of course they are.

StandingStill 05-30-2005 06:28 PM

Continuing the trophy scars love. I love them.

trophy scars is amazing. "eyes baptized in mercury" is an incredible song.
The new tornpictures.
Haha, I like how torn hasn't shown his face since he revealed his identity. I'm sure he had a great time jerking himself off thinking he gave us all a pwny ride though.

Electric Ocean 05-30-2005 08:59 PM

I thought he said he wasn't coming back?
I thought he said he wasn't coming back?
Yeah, but you know he checked the thread until it got closed for his own self-gratification.

Wow 05-31-2005 01:58 AM

Torn was done posting on mx, he got too busy to mess around. I still talk to him on a daily basis though, very cool guy. He knows A LOT of great hardcore bands.

"The Hair-Trigger Flameco" is the best song ever. Goodnight.

Saturday Supercade 05-31-2005 03:25 AM

No, I don't think Torn is coming back, but he is certainly a cool guy. I recently discovered he is Dutch to..

And you'll have to admit that the 'dancetonight-guy' knows a lot of cool bands, so don't flame him to death on his first few posts, he's not a kid that comes crashing in with: 'TBS is the best emo band ever' or something like that, give him a chance guys!

mshort813 05-31-2005 05:08 AM
My band is covering that. Actually, we're not a band. Just four guys who love that song.

So we have two songs, "Hair-Trigger..." and "I Just Got This Symphony Goin'" by The Fall of Troy.

mshort813 05-31-2005 05:09 AM

I was talking to two older kids. and I told them that Taking Back Sunday weren't emo and Norma Jean wasn't hardcore. They laughed at me and told me I had a lot to learn about music.

I was so happy. :

StandingStill 05-31-2005 05:47 AM

My band call me a 'genre nazi' and constantly mock me. I dont mind though, its all good.

Hahaha, yes, there are a lot of kids that need to be educated, too bad a lot of them are too ignorant!

Electric Ocean 05-31-2005 06:51 AM

It's best to just leave them to what they think, you're never going to be able to educate everyone anyway. Also being a genre nazi in real life could make you come across like an elitest dick.

but I like being an elitist dick :( ah well.

RetiredAt21 05-31-2005 12:00 PM

A lot of the scenesters around here act like they are genre nazis. But they think Taking Back Sunday is emo. These scene idiots have no credibility whatsoever.

I like your avatar a lot StandingStill. Street Fighter is awesome.

Has knowledge? Yes. Mean he's an okay guy? No.

I usually let it go. If I'm in a bad mood or something, then I'll go on a purposely tiring rant about the history of whatever genre I'm arguing about so that they have nothing to argue back with. But like if it's with my friends the other week:

Me: "Saves the Day are the greatest pop-punk band ever."
Friend: "Nah, they're really more emo."
Me: *nods in faux agreement*

Wow 05-31-2005 02:43 PM

Torn has never been a prick to me and is always nice so in my book, he's a good guy.

I went over to my friend's house and a lot of people were there and talking about Finch and how they're so "screamo." By the time everyone left, they officially loved Love Like... Electrocution.

Thank you. It was a toss up between Ryu and Ken. Fireballs beat dragon punches though. I had a massive argument with someone in the bass forum a little while ago. He kept telling me that Beethoven was 'emo classical'. It was not cool.

pixiesfanyo 05-31-2005 05:55 PM

So who else can't wait for the new TROPHY SCARS ep?

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 05-31-2005 06:16 PM

I'm getting it.

Wow 05-31-2005 07:22 PM

I'm pissing myself in excitement.

conniption 05-31-2005 08:00 PM

i asked this in the hardcore/metalcore forum but its more common in screamo music, and we are screamo, so any suggestions on how to do lyrics with two main vocalists?Should you go back and forth, or go at the same time? Im guessing both, but just getting some opions, thanks.

Wow 05-31-2005 08:08 PM

Do what you want, it's your music, not ours.

cbmartinez 05-31-2005 08:08 PM

Make it sound like Love Lost But Not Forgotten and I will make sweet love to you forever.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 05-31-2005 08:17 PM

The vocalist in The Number Twelve Looks Like You scream at the same time. It sounds pretty cool. They are currently one of my favorite bands...

haha, yeah I know. It's hard to just let something like that go, but my friends always get pissed at me when I say something about genres. I usually get a "You think you know Everything about Genres! WEll you don't! Dont act like you know everything."

My friend just classified Underoath as 'hardcore screaming.' what the **** is that?
So who else can't wait for the new TROPHY SCARS ep?
phuck yes. I'm getting on the third, should I post it then or wait so you guys can order it?
I'm pretty much just bragging. But really, should I post the album before it comes out to the public?
i would be too cause you really do. :upset:
I like how no one payed attention to you because that post really sucked.

Yeah, do both. It does sound awesome to have to vocalists at the same time but you need to trade off lines too. Listen to Blood Brothers, Number Twelve, CTTS to get an idea.

AndreTheHyena 05-31-2005 09:08 PM

So, ignoring all posts because I'm a bastard, I'm seeing the Get Up Kids in Chicago next week.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 05-31-2005 09:12 PM

Your a lucky bastard

AndreTheHyena 05-31-2005 09:15 PM

Yeah. I almost talked myself out of it, because I'm sorta "broke" and "homeless" at the moment, but it's their final tour and I would really regret it and be pissed later down the road.
