just got some free stuff for my radio show...but so far I've only had time to dig:
The Panthers - "Things Are Strange"
"We Are Louder" is an amazing song, I just love the 'my dick is bigger than yours' tongue-in-cheek mentality.

vallely2004 12-01-2004 04:13 PM

Been diggin' some of my older cds due to the fact my girlfriends has all my good cds right now because im trying to get her into them. So Ive been listening to:

Wildhearts
Foo Fighters
Stone Temple Pilots

enjoy_cai 12-01-2004 05:57 PM

They called off classes today because there's supposed to be this BIG storm headed here. But there is still no rain.

So i'm currently diggin'

Sigur Ros
Bjork
Tool
Frank Sinatra :p

"Before the Storm" Music

Well_Respected_Man 12-01-2004 06:26 PM

You're annoying.

KARMAPOL1CE 12-01-2004 07:24 PM
Go SlowDive! hahaha. i'd also go for their song "Machine Gun" and "Shine"
Is Machine Gun a Hendrix cover?

 Thats hard to imagine.

Well_Respected_Man 12-01-2004 07:28 PM

I just downloading The New Pornographers' Massive Romantic and it sounds pretty darn cool at first listen. Anybody else familiar with this band?

Tapeworm 12-01-2004 07:40 PM

I really dig The New Pornographers. "What's wrong is everywhere" was on some tv show the other night and it freaked me out.

I've only heard a couple of songs though.

Luxor 12-01-2004 08:15 PM

Listened to a lot of stuff today; Elliott Smith, Tomahawk, Neil Young, The Faint.

Bartender 12-01-2004 09:25 PM

Nice, the Wildhearts. I think this makes you the third person I've found who likes them here.

Yorke 12-01-2004 10:14 PM

Listened to some Damien Rice and RHCP today. Starting to like this new guy named Tyler Hilton, has a really awesome voice that is very uncommon. His voice is very deep and sounds awesome with the acoustic guitar. Look him up, he is pretty good. Two of my favorites by him are When It Comes, and Glad.

Also Ihateusernames, Elliott Smith rocks.

Little Man being Erased 12-02-2004 06:01 AM

I love Minus The Bear. The album, "Highly Refined Pirates" is really bloody cool.

Yeah, I've listened to that album three times now and I really dig it, great stuff.

Tapeworm 12-02-2004 08:26 AM

They make me wanna jump around, but in a really happy way.

I've been diggin on Circle Takes the Square still. It's weird that their songs would get so stuck in your head. I have found myself singing various songs at different points all through the week. Best album of the year, I say again.

Tomahawk 12-02-2004 09:28 AM

Been digging Kyuss today. I picked up And the Circus Leaves Town, and it's been rocking me nice and hard. Which is good, because I've been getting a bit under-rocked lately.

Also been into Eskimo Joe, The Pogues, and the Smiths.

talk show host 12-02-2004 09:41 AM

I've been listening to a fair amount of Autechre recently.

Some of it is really messed up...

pinkyeti 12-02-2004 02:18 PM

I've been listening to Sonic Youth's "dirty" for a while now. also fehlfarben "monarchie und alltag"

Reaganista 12-02-2004 02:20 PM

It's december! Get in the holiday spirit!

I dusted off the Trans siberian orchestra and was suddenly reminded of their awesomeness.

and the flying burrito brothers are good, too. but they have nothing to do with christmas.

Iai 12-02-2004 03:04 PM

Today, I was mostly enjoying AFI, Lacuna Coil, and Morrissey.

\m/X*EmO*X*GoTh*X\m/

And Asian Dub Foundation, which totally doesn't fit.

Interstate 12-02-2004 03:56 PM

Today i've been listening to The Commodores, a load of classic rock (Thin Lizzy, Free, ZZ Top etc.) and a bit of The Smiths.

dkmaddog 12-02-2004 07:39 PM

Been listening to a nice mixtape of the Shins, Kings of Convenience, Yo La Tengo, Belle and Sebastian and Rogue Wave. Particularly Rogue Wave though.
Is Machine Gun a Hendrix cover?

nope it's not

Tapeworm 12-03-2004 06:40 AM

PJ Harvey.

I seriously have never been this impressed with her before. It took me like 3 years to get used to her music (even though I liked a few songs here and there), but it is today, my friends, that I am in love.

Iai 12-03-2004 11:14 AM

Today I have been mostly digging The Smiths and the Manic Street Preachers.

Sisyphus 12-03-2004 11:54 AM

I've had the new Sparta in my cd player the last few days...also Manitoba-up in flames (really cool cd), hopesfall, and tom waits.

talk show host 12-03-2004 12:04 PM
I've had the new Sparta in my cd player the last few days...also Manitoba-up in flames (really cool cd), hopesfall, and tom waits.
I've been meaning to check out Manitoba for ages. Any recommendations?
I've been meaning to check out Manitoba for ages. Any recommendations?
check out the songs; I've lived on a dirt road all my life, hendrix with ko, bijoux, and skunks, for a good taste of the album Up In Flames.

Dan Snaith (Manitoba) was in town a few months back, but i missed it. Hate when you get into bands right after they play your city, especially where i live. the music is kinda reminiscent of boards of canada if you've heard them. less experimental though. - peace

asymm 12-03-2004 02:19 PM

Today I've been digging...

Vietname - "The Concrete's Always Grayer On The Other Side of the Street" EP

Happymeal 12-03-2004 05:47 PM

I'm trying hard not to be on downers this weekend. I'm gonna find me a !!! album.

asymm 12-03-2004 06:55 PM

...and I've been diggin The 90 Day Men - Panda Park today, I think some of the Mars Volta fans would enjoy their mathy rock.

coffinbreak 12-03-2004 07:14 PM

I've really been digging Skin Yard lately, particulary "1000 Smiling Knuckles". Anybody else like them?

Tangy zizzle 12-03-2004 10:18 PM

Um I got 3 new records today, so been diggin' these:

Cake - Fashion Nugget
T(I)NC - Survival Sickness
New Wet Kojak - New Wet Kojak

Do any of you listen NWK? They are really quite interesting.

Happymeal 12-03-2004 10:19 PM

What they sound like?

Tangy zizzle 12-03-2004 10:24 PM

Kid of like a more noised up and subtle Morphine. Think Sonic Youth mixed with Morphine, and you're kinda on the right track.

Happymeal 12-03-2004 10:27 PM

Cool. I'll take note of that.

'Been digging Dub Narcotic and that JSBX of yours. They make me wanna wiggle my tush.

Tangy zizzle 12-03-2004 10:33 PM

Didn't they do an album together?

JSBX = the best.

Happymeal 12-03-2004 10:36 PM

Yeah, but I only got one track, Fudgy the Whale. Groovy. I think I need some more bands in their league.

Tangy zizzle 12-03-2004 10:46 PM

Get their newie Damage. It's about as close to the blues/hip hop/noise-punk masterpiece that they've been promising, as they've ever been.

Tapeworm 12-04-2004 12:13 AM

They are just called Blues Explosion.

Tangy zizzle 12-04-2004 12:23 AM

They've dropped the "Jon Spencer" part for their new album.

I don't give a fuck either.
