How's it going guys?

Jody LeCompte 07-13-2006 09:43 AM

I'm up, I'm up!

Thonk 07-13-2006 09:44 AM

Man...I'm such a noob at using soulseek.

Thonk 07-13-2006 09:49 AM

Any of you into dance/techno type stuff?

bottlerocket 07-13-2006 09:49 AM

What's up, newcomers?

Thonk: slsk owns so hard, though. Once I get my laptop I'm getting it. I have it on this computer but I barely use it because this computer's as slow as hell (I'm running Windows 98...>.>)

BV's into trance.

Yes.

Thonk 07-13-2006 09:52 AM

Yeah I know about BV...I just want some recommendations.

I just don't get slsk? I'm in the techno, mixes, and tunes room but I feel like an idiot. Do I have to message a person and see if they will send me something or what?

BassVirtuoso 07-13-2006 09:55 AM

I don't know, I never use Soulseek, I get all my stuff from Di.FM forums or torrents.

Thonk 07-13-2006 09:56 AM

Could you just name a few good artists that you dig?

BassVirtuoso 07-13-2006 10:03 AM

Squarepusher, DJ Tiesto, DJ Doboy, Infected Mushroom, Delerium, Hallucinogen are just a few.

Ting 07-13-2006 10:03 AM

Sounds like your talking about drugs...

Jody LeCompte 07-13-2006 10:06 AM

My dad bought a bunch of candy and a can of tuna...

I'm going to kill him...

Ugh...I have to work tomorrow

Thonk 07-13-2006 10:09 AM

Alright, thanks BV. I'll try and get some stuff.

that = my acoustic guitar :upset:

Jody LeCompte 07-13-2006 10:14 AM

I finally like the way my acoustic sounds...the strings have been on there for 8 months now.

Hahah speaking of that, It was my friends birthday a week are so ago and he really hates that new twangy sound of strings...So i bought him some exlixer acoustic strings :) :) .

Jody LeCompte 07-13-2006 10:18 AM

I like my strings to have twang but I cant stand how twangy strings sound when your playing chords with more than 2 notes. They dont sound like theyre coming together, like the tuning is off.

Thonk 07-13-2006 10:20 AM

I really hope my Agile comes in tomorrow.

BassVirtuoso 07-13-2006 10:23 AM

I want to learn slap acoustic.

Thonk 07-13-2006 10:25 AM

123^^

That would be so sick.

ebe9 07-13-2006 10:26 AM

greetings all

Thonk 07-13-2006 10:26 AM

How's it going ebe?

Jody LeCompte 07-13-2006 10:26 AM

Slap acoustic is great fun. I always forget to sharp my notes when I get to the B string though, I forget Im playing guitar half the time.

I miss drugs...

Polyamarous 07-13-2006 10:37 AM

Greetings people.

EDIT: Jesus, that kid in the corner, holding the guitar, looks about 9.

You give drugs to 9 year olds?

Thonk 07-13-2006 10:37 AM

How did you get into playing it?

I couldn't play if I wanted too though. :upset: I might try and put some glue on the bridege. ^_^

Radiobass81 07-13-2006 10:39 AM

I fell in love with a Peavy Basic 50 yesterday.

Jody LeCompte 07-13-2006 10:41 AM

Well, first I watched some videos of Justin King to get an idea of how his slap technique looked. You can't slap quite the same on acoustic because the strings are so tight.

Then I just started experimenting with double stop popping, flamenco strumming, and other things to mix it up.

I could record some videos I suppose.

Jody LeCompte 07-13-2006 10:42 AM

That 9 year old is my guitarist, and that guitar he's holding is a '67 Gretche chet atkins signature.
