^I GP5'd up the sweeps. Don't mind the rhythm section, that's not what the song is like at all and I know that Also the guitars are in standard instead of 1/2 step down |
Once i had a song stuck in my head, and then it was like it was playing again in my head, the second track had more treble so it was like i had it in my head and was listening but i wasnt. it was in my head TWICE.
I proceeded to wig out. im not crazy and i dont use drugs- my brain is just awesome. EDIT: post #1600 |
:( only has gp4 demo :(
|
Thats really not too bad, just kinda quick if you haven't been playing very long.
Will try to learn in honor of my pre-Fender Soloist ariving saturday. Amp'd - Download GP5 from thier site, and hit me up on MSN or something. We can fix that problem. |

should i get the demo or what?
|
Man I should really learn some sweeping or something, maybe that's what I could work on.
Anyone know of any good tutorials and some easy sweeping songs/licks? |

Anyone know of any good tutorials and some easy sweeping songs/licks?
I learned using a basic Em-D-C-B progression using the top 4 strings of basic E barre chord shapes. I'd start on the root on the D string, downsweep, hammer on and pull off the third above the root on the high E, and then upsweep. Slide to the chord down, and do it again. It's basic and it's melodically grade three, but meh, it's a good practice lick. When you get good at that, you can try sweep-taps by tapping the fifth on the high E  |

Yeah. The demo is actually the same as the full package, just no serial to 'activate' it long term, export wav files and stuff. |
I dont really sweep stuff like that i just do melodies that need sweeps to be played etc. buit i guess thats just me. I love doing sweep taps.

I was just looking at that one chicken picking thread and it made me remember that one Buckethead song, with the video and the guy from SOAD, anyone remember the name? I wanna find it again, it was so funny/weird/awesome.

/thinks he already has it gp'd /does http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=6EABFB0E23A99300 The timing's not completely right (should be 16th-note triplets and shouldn't go back to the root on the D before going to the root of the next chord) but the shapes are there with the fifths too. |

TBF and I enjoy talking about how much of a prick jeff loomis is over emessen because he can sweep stuff like that so well. Even if you do it slowly, it's a great finger workout. Also check out Jason Becker's 'altitudes'. |
Yeah that's what made me start wanting to learn some, man this thread is helpfull to me, I get to ask my non thread worthy questions and get them answered since so many people come here, yay.
