the store only takes credit cards -_- im emailing to see if mailorder is permissable.

DaveToopes 01-22-2006 02:29 PM

I think there's talk of them releasing an full album this year.

tappenzee 01-22-2006 02:30 PM

Question #3:

Is it true that Tomas wrote some of the post-Keasbey Nights songs for Catch 22 (hence why "Washed Up" and "Alone in a Crowd" are that much better than Dinosaur Sounds)

Rumor I heard a while ago, not sure how true it is...

DaveToopes 01-22-2006 02:32 PM

I guess that makes sense, I haven't heard that though.

Kithkin 01-22-2006 02:47 PM

No, but they had a Thomas like singer for Washed Up and Alone in the Crowd who wrote the songs.

For Dinosaur Sounds the Sax player took over vocal duties. He can't really sing and he can't really write music.

AIRIC 01-22-2006 02:48 PM

The sax player is terrible.

DaveToopes 01-22-2006 03:08 PM

I have the Catch 22 Live!!! CD/DVD (I got it used for 3 bucks) and the DVD part is just a concert in Long Island. The Sax/vocals are bad, and then the trumpet/backup vocals are done by some really fat wigger. He can't sing at all. He makes me angry.

Iron Bug 01-22-2006 03:13 PM

They are re-doing Keasby Nights. Thats all I know of.

DaveToopes 01-22-2006 03:15 PM
They are re-doing Keasby Nights. Thats all I know of.
I was talking about BOTAR, not Streetlight.

Iron Bug 01-22-2006 03:17 PM

Oh, nevermind then.

Yeah. He does the fast part in Bloomsfield Ave but really can't sing that fast.

DaveToopes 01-22-2006 09:31 PM

Yeah, what's the point in speeding up songs like 9mm and A Three Piece Suit when he probably couldn't sing it correctly at the normal speed?

Henrik 01-23-2006 05:42 AM

I like the fat trumpet wigger. I can't remember his name but he was around on Keasbey nights as well.
Anyway, I don't think the live catch cd is that bad. I like the horn change in on and on and on.

DaveToopes 01-23-2006 06:24 AM

His voice annoys me, and I never really had a thing for wiggers.
I don't understand the Tuesday thing. DVD's do it too.
The reason is that everything gets shipped to the stores on the first business day of the week, Monday, but to make sure that there's equal parity between the stores, they don't start sales until Tuesday, otherwise some stores would start selling it before others...

Henrik 02-03-2006 04:23 PM

Edit: Sorry:upset:

Liebensaft 02-03-2006 04:30 PM

The Bamboozle is a big music fest in New Jersey every year. Aside from Streetlight Manifesto, the bands I saw listed this year suck hard.

edit - I just saw Motion City Soundtrack was playing. I love them too.

Henrik 02-03-2006 06:16 PM

hehe, yeah I found out just after my post.

comptonassrobert 02-03-2006 07:39 PM

So early Catch 22 and Streetlight Manifesto have grabbed a spot in my top 5 alltime favourite bands ever. They are just amazing.

I heard that SM is taking a year off to write another album, supposedly "Keasbey Nights volume 2" Can anyone confirm/deny this? And also, would it be remasterings of the old songs, or new material?

tappenzee 02-03-2006 08:20 PM

If you read a few pages back, you'll see that "Keasbey Nights as performed by Streetlight Manifesto" has a release date of NEXT MONTH

Get geeked

Liebensaft 02-03-2006 08:20 PM

March 7 I think. Supposedly.

Johnny Quest. 02-04-2006 08:30 AM

Anyone else amazingly excited about hearing a possibly extended version of 9mm and a three piece suit on the new album. It's one of my favourite tracks on KN and the horn lines on it are great.

Henrik 02-04-2006 09:07 AM

If they are remaking songs, which I don't think any of us know if the do, then the song I'm the most excited to hear is 12341234. I think that song is awesome, but it kind og misses something. The drums could be better I think.

secholev2 02-04-2006 05:33 PM

So where's everyone hearing about the news of a new album so soon at?? I hope it's true because i'm really excited!!!

jettadude77 02-04-2006 06:08 PM

the victory records website (www.victoryrecords.com) has it listed, i believe. plus, it was listed in some upcoming cd promo victory put out.

Unseen2k0 02-04-2006 06:31 PM

Ha, last time I checked this thread months ago and about 20 pages ago the same things were being said. How can you regurgitate something for so long? You don't know what they are going to record, all you know for sure is they are taking time off touring to record now(Source: www.streetlightmanifesto.com ), and BOTAR is also recording something now. But hey, don't let me discourage you guys from your gossiping, I heard they are going to feature Catch-22 members on this new CD! My source? Well, I have a brother, who has a friend, whose sister knows this girl whoses cousin saw them, who overheard a kid talking to a merch booth of a band playing with Streetlight that had been told Catch-22 members would be on this new CD!

Everyone is excited, but I've seen so much dumb stuff in this thread and other forums about these CDs, just trust that these guys are going to make some good music for us to enjoy, and it'll be 2 years late like everything else they do.

a drum-teacher i work with listened to the whole KN cd and said that he thinks the drummer's horrible

Iron Bug 02-04-2006 07:09 PM

Hes not horrible, but hes not really anything special.
