No. Just... no.

Everyone has a different style of solos. Poland wrote his own solos, thus the jazzy feel. Mustaine did not write Marty's either. Marty's solos sound much different than Mustaine's. Where the hell did you come up with that?

If you actually think that he wrote their solos, find an accurate source, and post it.
hahaha little boy. i used to get my info from the official megadeth website but ******* metallica made whined and got the site changed so that the truth is not there anymore. i talked to dave mustaine in person and he told me what happenned oh and mustaine did write all the solos. poland and freidman did have a part in writing it but that dont mean they wrote them. just b/c they sound diff dont mean he didnt write them are you retarded?

Chu 02-21-2005 12:05 PM
That said, I prefer Megadeth. :)
I agree with you there, but both are ****en amazing bands, why can't people just see that?

Why did you say that?
No one is talking about Metallica, and I don't see how Metallica whining could make Mustaine remove something about Marty Friedman's solos from his site.

Dude. You are retarded. Taken from the Marty Friedman website.

HOLY WARS
I had to fight to record the second electric solo in this tune the way I wanted! The first take I did as I was just warming up was the one that producer Mike Clink liked. When he heard it, he said, "That's fine. Good job." And I was like , "Whooooaaaa! Wait a minute. I haven't even tuned my guitar yet. Let me play a REAL solo here." He and Mustaine both thought it was fine and that we should move on to something else, so we left it at that. As the days went on and on, just knowing that solo was on there really bugged me. So I kept bringing it up to the guys that I wanted to redo it. Everybody liked the solo that was there, so I had no allies! Eventually I wore down Mike Clink's nerves and he had me come back in and re-cut the solo, and the new solo is the one that made the record.

LUCRETIA
This solo is a great example of my playing. It's got it all. It sounds worked out, but it really wasn't. I follow all the chord changes differently, almost like a jazz player, which I definitely am not. To explain this solo technically would take a page and a half and a music professor. I'm quite pleased with this one.

TORNADO OF SOULS
When I finished the solo to this one, Mustaine came into the studio, listened to it down once, turned around and without saying a word, shook my hand. It was at that moment that I felt like I was truly the guitarist for this band.

A TOUT LE MONDE
Playing this song in France was the greatest!! It is an amazing feeling to hear tens of thousands of people singing your song in a foreign language! Believe it or not, I sort of fashioned the intro of the guitar solo after Larry Carlton's solo in Lionel Richie's "Hello". If you're gonna copy something, you might as well copy something that was a hit...

Just a few examples of how Marty wrote all his solos...

WarlockMan4389 02-21-2005 12:13 PM

i never said they whined to get freidmans solos offf the site can u not read? i said they whined b/c dave had up the true reason why metallica was allowed to use The Four Horsemen and other songs he wrote. so metallica got their lawers and told him he had to take it off the site. and wheres your proof that this is off freidmans website post links to these exact words

You looked straight past my point, goodwork, idiot.

Don't even have the patience to deal with this guy anymore.
He makes Megadeth look bad!

MAthiAS 02-21-2005 12:31 PM
once again holy wars listen to it.
Poland wasn't even in the band when Holy Wars was recorded.

I'd like to see how much of Friedman's solos Dave could play, since lots of people say he's a poor guitarist that just plays fast and surrounds himself with good guitarists that make him look better. Nonetheless you can easily tell which Hangar 18 solo is Dave's, just by the tremolo. I think its great that Dave plays his solos in a more straight up metal style and the other lead guitarist plays in a different style. Makes songs like Hangar 18 really interesting to hear both types.

and holy crap, I just downloaded Four Horsemen, and it is exactly the same as Mechanix, but slowed down a bit. Any other Tallica songs that are this way? Like Call of Ktulu and the Hangar intro?

What's wrong with that?

AB/CD 02-21-2005 05:04 PM

Arise II 02-21-2005 05:04 PM
What's wrong with that?
Well, and mind you, this is just me thinking out loud here, but no Megadeth collection is complete without KIMBABIG, whilst the utter crap that is Risk and Cryptic Writings doesn't belong anywhere near a metal/rock collection (hell, even Mustaine will tell you that)

AB/CD 02-21-2005 05:06 PM

cryptic writings is an amazing album and risk is wel beter than it

Mustaine plays Trust at every show, so it can't all be crap. Granted, KIMB > CW, but CW has some good songs... Trust and She Wolf for instance. Never listened to Risk.

Darkest Hour 02-21-2005 08:04 PM

LLLLLLLLLLLOL. Sarcasm is for girls

MAthiAS 02-21-2005 08:29 PM
I very much doubt those 2 albums are better then KIMB...ABIG
I don't think anyone said they were.
Dave Mustaine himself said that he liked Risk...
when????

i heard that he hated it, and the producer he had at the time kinda forced them to take that type of direction. apparently risk was going to be what the world needs a hero was - starting to go back to real megadeth - metal \m/
