cool have they signed, than they can release their album very soon :D
this is a good year, new Opeth DT Tool Meshuggah Porcupine Tree NIN a good year it is
don't forget, strapping young lad, mars volta (already released) and the damageplan album which was 99% complete or something. indeed a good year :chug: |
you guys hear about some summer festival that Opeth is planning to do? It's called sounds from the underground, or something along those words. It's supposed to go against Ozzfest, but the bands on the bill are mostly metalcore.
|
I was jsut listening to "In The Mist She Was Standin", and it has some of the same parts as "Eternal Soul Torture".
I just thought I would point that out :D
really? What parts? I think there may be elements of Forest Of October in the song too |

Yeah, but except Lamb of God and Maybe Unearth, I hate everyone else. But I'll go if they come near me. I wonder how many people will go for Opeth? |
Anyone know if PT is going to tour with Opeth again like in 2002? Hopefully...god, I want to see both bands. If I can see PT, DT, Tool and Opeth...I could die happy.
|
Where ya been, Ivor? Haven't seen you around here in forever!

In The Mist She Was Standing=about 3:50, the softer part. Eternal Soul Torture= about 1:00, the softer part. I haven't noticed any other ones, but if I do I'll post them if yuor interested. I just love that part thoguh (the similiar parts). It's creepy and awesome. |

Been working and my band's been doing real well. Playin' a lot, just cut a demo...I took a semester off of school though, BIG BIG mistake. But anyway, what up with you? Opeth rocks! :) |
Upadate on my Opeth collection. Since moving I have picked up Deliverence, Still Life and Morningrise. I'm thinking about getting some special edition MAYH cd as well, as it was in stock at JB Hi-Fi, I guess I'll see how the funds are going.

Opeth rocks! :)
Ah, congratulations! And, yeah...ugh that's no good about the school part. I'm actually about 2 1/2 months away from my Bachelor's, should be nice. :) And, as evidenced by my profile picture and user title, I've become obsessed with Irish folk music & the Bodhran. And, yes, Opeth does indeed rock. New album, US tour...wooo! |

that would be so awesome, but chances it wil ever happen again are tiny. I'm going to see PT on 2th of April, but I stil have nu clue, who's supporting them  anyone knows? I think the chance of a Tool + Opeth gig in the autumn or winter would be quite big. it would be a dream gig. |
I think the chance of a Tool + Opeth gig in the autumn or winter would be quite big.
it would be a dream gig.
I would do anything to see that! I havent heard much Opeth, but the song 'to bid you farewell' is just beautiful. |
^^
check out the blackwater park album for startes, you won't be sisappointed, I assure you Opeth is a great band, and Mikeal (vocalist+leadguitar for Opeth) respects Tool very much. and me; I respect both very much :) |
Nice new avatar stranger. It's...different.
|
^^
haha, thanks, I know. I thought, lets change the thing, I don't know why I choosse a carrot tho. but it looks happy and colourfull, unlike the weather at the moment wow, that was off topic :p to give this some meaning. I love Opeth |
Me too.
Another thing, I heard Demon of the Fall for the first time today. Awesome. So good it hurts. |
opeth = 4 gods!!!!!
|
soon to be 5 if the keyboardist stays.
|
hmm, maybe we should make an online petition for a tool/opeth gig, send it to different Tool and Opeth related forums, get many signatures, and send it to the bands, increase the chance of it:)
|
If you have the time, why not?

Because of Opeth, I got into Porcupine Tree and Anekdoten (both were on the band's playlist) Although no one has really heard of Anekdoten, I think they are a great prog band, Gravity is one of my favorite albums (download The War is Over, its a beautiful song). I know Mike loves them...love for the Swedish Prog! ;) |
Hey guys, Do you know if there are any Opeth song which have a radio edit version? I'm asking this cause I think I heard one of their song on the radio. Here are song lyrics from this song: (clean guitar) Please remedy my confusion And thrust me back to the day The silence of your seclusion Brings night into all you say Then, (distorted guitar) Pull me down again And guide me into pain
Thanx! |

Thanx!
And yes, there is a radio edit of that song. It's about 6 minutes long(The full song is 10-12) and I heard it on a compilation called "Loud Music for Loud People". That was actualy my first experience with Opeth, and completely sold me on the band. |
the radio edit has no growls ay?
|
A 6 minute version. That's a crime. 11 minutes or nothing at all.
|
the radio edit has no growls ay?
Probably not. That would suck a lot. |
Probably not. That would suck a lot.
What's the point? Don't cheapen the song for the radio :upset: I want them to play Deliverance on the radio...all 13 minutes :) |
yes. long songs, uncut, no crappy radio edits, just the song in it's purest form.
if the song lasts 12 minutes, they should let it be like that. the song needs 12 minutes to deliver it's lyrical and musical value to the listener. radio edits are so wrong, it's like cutting the mona lisa in 2 parts, it would be worthless, but that's just my opinion. I love long songs I'm listening to ACOS now, 23 minutes of yummie'ness |
