We have good form at the moment and i think we have the players to win although we are still lacking a spinner. Our players have matured and are nearing there prime whereas your's are ageing and you have 8 players over 30 in the team which means it is unbalanced.

Good point.

This is one thing I'm afraid of, the aussie star players' ages. Then again, by the looks of it, they will be able to go for at least another 2 years before going downhill.

I also like the fact that the english team are getting better, England really needs it.

And yes, me you and stick always turn a thread into cricket somehow :p

I like the discussions. the Aussies will be ok for a few years yet, but soon they'll have to start blooding in the younger players for the less important players such as Lehmann etc. Harsh disions but the ones the Aussies make so well which keeps them at the top. Until 2005 :thumb:

Say our star players go, I predict that the aussie team will be better than Sri Lanka at the moment...I reckon something like New Zealand or England at the moment.

i think it was true a few years ago that a mix of Aussie 2nd and 3rd team players would've beaten every other test playing nation apart from SA. But others are improving and any of England, SA, India could take over the mantle. But the Aussie have a few more years in them as they have the mentality that the other teams don't at the moment

i think Harmison will be the best bowler but the back up will be the support in the bowling partnerships eg McGrath and Warne
