yeah...echobrain is pretty un-metal. Jason used to be cool...
He plays in Voivod now, thats pretty cool if you ask me

Deth 05-09-2005 02:37 PM

Voivod are pretty cool. Plus he plays with Ozzy, though it's not much work for him lately.

Huber 05-09-2005 02:38 PM
My second timne reaching 1000 posts should be in the metallica forum, my home away from home.

Actually he left Ozzy ages ago man
He did? I was always wondering about that. I know he was in Ozzy for awhile but I wasn't sure if he left.
can't you delete your first post?

I doubt it. Even if you could the thread would still exist.
Burt deleted the Song Name Game thread recently, in case you had posts in that.

Sandtrap 05-09-2005 05:35 PM
launch.yahoo.com

YSI thread, except I can't figure out how to put Live $hit on my computer
I would use that but my connection is ****ing slow and I cant ever see but a few seconds of the video...I meant more of a place to download

Joe 05-09-2005 05:38 PM

ok try the YSI thread

lilmetallica 05-09-2005 05:39 PM

Did any body notice that at the end of King Nothing he just says "off to never-never land" for no reason. Whats up with that?!

Deth 05-09-2005 05:41 PM

I'm sure if you were James Hetfield, you would do the exact same thing. But because you're not, you probably don't understand.

Joe 05-09-2005 05:48 PM
I'm sure if you were James Hetfield, you would do the exact same thing. But because you're not, you probably don't understand.
That didn't make any sense. Explain?

lilmetallica 05-09-2005 05:51 PM

Please do...

munky_magik 05-09-2005 05:55 PM

I think he was meaning that if you were James Hetfield the reason for saying that would be clear because you would be Him.
Since you aren't him, and don't hold his knowledge it doesn't make sense to you.

lilmetallica 05-09-2005 05:58 PM

Ooooh but i might not do the exact same thing and he made it sound like he was james so i didnt know what was going on...(that happens alot  )

Chu 05-09-2005 06:10 PM

Should do a sort of Recommended listenning here, the catch, it can only be Metallica songs.
Person A say a Metallica song (Everyone will probably know them) and Person B has to do a review of the song, and then suggest some other songs, good idea?

Joe 05-09-2005 06:13 PM

sounds good,

Fade to Black

lilmetallica 05-09-2005 06:15 PM

Whose person B in this situation?

Chu 05-09-2005 06:16 PM

First person to call dibs on the song.

Person B ultimately becomes Person A :p

Joe 05-09-2005 06:16 PM

you are, because i was person A and named a song. now you review it and name a new song

Fade to Black

lilmetallica 05-09-2005 06:21 PM

Me.. oh ok.
it starts off with a real cool intro and then gets all heavy and cool thats some major point right there
the lyrics are really depressing but are also cool especially at the end when he says"death greets me warm now i will just say goodbyr..." youre like waiting for a gun shot er somethin scary...
all in all AWESOME SONG EVERY BODY LISTEN TO IT NOW!!!

Joe 05-09-2005 06:23 PM

name another song

NP: FTB Live MIAWTW Tour

vashts80 05-09-2005 06:23 PM

The Outlaw Torn

Chu 05-09-2005 06:23 PM

:o
That review really didn't do justice to it :p
You should include the solos?

Edit: I got The Outlaw Torn :D

The Outlaw Torn: #14 from Load.
Starts off all quiet with the drums coming in and some guitar playing some heavily muted chords and then a wah.
It eventually speeds up with the drums playing a bit faster and then a cool sounding guitar riff.
The guitar stops but drums are still going, bass comes in and then Hetfield starts.

Everything stops except for the drums and some effects from the guitar, Hetfield comes back in and the bass is playing a simple little pattern here.
It pretty much just repeats the same pattern here, heavy sounding guitar with a simple bass line and some drums.

Until about 5:13 when it all stops but the guitar effects come in again.
The bass is playing some sick riff (With pedals?) and then Kirk comes in with sweet effects again, I guess this is the beginning of a solo. It sounds kinda slow, almost like an electric violin could be playing it (Yes, violin's can play fast) it starts getting faster, and louder, at about the 6:16 mark, and the drums start speeding up until about 6:25 when the chaos begins again.
All the time Kirk's still playing with his wah, it's actually a very cool sound, similar to his little jizz after FWTBT live Woodstock '99.

At about the 7:00 mark Hetfield comes back with vocals, it goes back to a sweet riff, at 7:36 everything stops and the guitars are playing some cool chords again with the bass (effected?) pedals, and Kirk with some wah, a guitar comes in with a sweet riff, I'd say this is the best riff in the song, it slowly starts speeding up, its like building for a climax, at about the 9:08 mark it starts getting cool :p Only for a brief moment though, and just keeps playing through with a little bit of variation to that riff until the end.

Next song: Battery

Joe 05-09-2005 06:25 PM

The Outlaw Torn has many extremely cool hardcore riffs and some amazingly cool lighter riffs. It's got a really awesome solo too

NP: The Outlaw Torn S&M

edit: ok, chu "got it" so ill let him do it then ill do whatever he posts

lilmetallica 05-09-2005 06:39 PM

Is that me oh..

Dont Tread On Me.

Joe 05-09-2005 06:42 PM

It's kinda boring. DTOM is a lost track on the black album that really didn't catch my ear. I didn't really like it. The lyrics weren't anything special and the riffs were only ok

Welcome Home (Sanitarium)

lilmetallica 05-09-2005 07:06 PM

Chu 05-09-2005 07:09 PM

lilmetallica 05-09-2005 07:10 PM

Sandtrap 05-09-2005 07:18 PM

I got "Welcome Home"!

Welcome Home(Sanatarium)/Track #4 Off Master Of Puppets.

The songs starts off with very little drums with light gutiar note picking. then picks up without durms into a steady acoustic riff, then the drums pick up and the steady acoustic riff is acompanied by LARS!!
The drums build an HAMMETT comes threw with a great, melodic six string solo. Great feel and adds alot of substance to the acoustic riff.
Then HETFEILD start vocaling and the lyrics are obviously very dark and angery. The song slowing building into the refrain while the verse lyrics are sung and the refrain comes quickly to a "santarium....leave me be!", "sanatarim...just leave me alone".
Then back to the acoustic riff and HAMMETT comes threw with another melodic ripper. Great stuff!
The second verse after HAMMETT's great ****! Changing points of veiw several times to show both sides of the "story". Then back into the refrain.
A new fast pace riff is included and a different over it so that you get a fast feel to the middle of the song. Then slowing down with chords and HETFEILD comes in with some more great stuff.
Now its time for HAMMETT's face melter of this song, with lots of wah and echo. Then a new riff harmoisized, a sort of 'And Justice for All' feel. And HAMMETT with more great stuff over it, ends on a great mid range high note.
Then a big ending with some fills by ULRICH. And thats the end!
