When I saw them, they played all the usual stuff from Altars, plus Dominate, Where The Slime Live, Rapture, God of Emptiness, Day of Suffering, et al.
God of Emptiness was their last song as a "throw in"
And Erik's size helps out with that quite a bit as well. Trey is Buckethead, everyone should know that.
yes his big... and his hairs. wow :) Treys solos are great... i always thought the change their solos (50%-50%) but Trey is playing most of the solos (about 80%), so Eric is more or less only the rhythm guitarist |
I don't think I've ever really listened to Morbid Angel...
Might have to do that. |
I don't think I've ever really listened to Morbid Angel...
Might have to do that.
They're freakin awesome, please do. |
I'm not too find of them, but then again, I'm not too fond of much death metal.
|
I'm not too find of them, but then again, I'm not too fond of much death metal.
You aren't the only one. I'm quite fond of DM/BDM, but don't care much for em. |
I enjoy their first two releases alot, and Covenant is ok.
|
I also enjoy Domination a bit, mainly cause of Dominate and Where the Slime Live.
|
I've heard good things about Formulas Fatal To The Flesh too.
anyway, if you don't like Altars of Madness then you suck. |
They're CoB fanboys remember; without girly vocals, paper thin guitar tone and awful instrumental work, they ain't gonna recognise.

i got a headache since yesterday after the concert and in 15min my cousin shall arrive and we will play guitar... but i'm not in the mood.
|
I haven't listened to Alters of Madness although I do have it.
Cob's production > Morbid Angel's. |
True, but MA >> CoB
|
Not in this thread matey.
|
...but I'm in this thread, so it's true.
Anyhow, AYDY has been slowly growing on me, from the initial hatred. |

Anyhow, AYDY has been slowly growing on me, from the initial hatred.
You'll come around, we all did on this one  |
Not me. I loved it right from the start.
|
and wrote that fancy review, which should be the display review. (that I negged after dl a leak) ^_^
|
I never had to come around, I never hated it, I nerver loved it either though...
Currently working on Silent Night, Bodom Night on keys...Its friggen hard but its coming along, really get test out the X5's harpsichord sound (which sounds friggen awsome) and am alreay thinking about what Im gonna get for christmas, Im thinking the Electroharmonix Big Muff and the Roland JV-1010 or A Roland AX-7...I wanna be cheesy :chug: http://www.instrumentpro.com/P-ROLAX7?source=froogle EDIT: plus Henrik Klingenberg makes it look so cool http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2SGIzjgXzI |
1:09 during the Sonata Arctica vid. pure coolness on Kligenberg's part :amaze:
|
Yeah that and the solo is my fav parts, I don't know how he can do that sideways...
|
Who loves the Hate Me solo?
Yeah me, so I'm going to learn it properly and attempt to get it up to speed. |
Cob's production > Morbid Angel's.
So that makes their music better? |
You better say yes Jono or you'll have to leave.
|
So that makes their music better?
I don't recall actually saying that, but it is what I think. It's not exactly hard to believe since Children of Bodom are my favourite band. |
I find it a lot easier to enjoy music when the production is great. But it's definitely not something that completely influences what music I like and dislike. And I'm sure most are the same way.
|
Thinking something is better because of the production is ridiculous.
Especially when you consider the gap between MA's first album and CoB's. |
I've only heard Altars of Madness, so only based on that I'd say I prefer Children of Bodom. I may not have given it that one listen yet though you know. There's always that one listen that strikes a note with your ears that gets you obsessed.
When it comes to production, aside from AYDY, they are both very unspectacular. |
Thinking something is better because of the production is ridiculous.
Especially when you consider the gap between MA's first album and CoB's.
Let me re-phrase what I said. "I don't recall actually saying that, but it is what I think." That didn't mean I think CoB are better than MA because of the production, the second half was implying that I do like CoB more than MA regardless of production. The first half saying I don't think that production makes the music any better, I just enjoy Cob's more. |
