My favorite song on lateralus would have to be ticks and leeches

That foto could be anything, but we all would like it to be new....
Did you guys ever check http://www.maynardjameskeenan.com It's not done yet, but it's gonna be amusing when it's up. MJK with his own website. Its gonna be classic. |
My god, four posts in two years, that is a long time between drinks.
|
I just skimmed over the last few pages. A few of you were wondering what could get a crowd so riled up when Parabola starts? Well, I have a ton of Tool video's, I'm getting this from the entire New York concert I have, Lateralus tour.
When Parabola starts, there's a slightly longer gap than usual. The stage goes completely dark, then these red lights flood the stage and two of those giant flying ball things from the Parabola video fly up out of the stage and just hang there meters above the band on either side of the stage, and stay there, floating for the entire concert. Pretty fucking awesome. Speaking of their live show, Tool can be SO much better live than on the recordings, and thats saying something. H. is absolutely amazing live when they drag out the "I don't mind!" part, totally intense. And Stinkfist when they postphone the last chorus and have danny do a little intro style drum fill is so sweet. The Grudge is amazing too. Man, all of their stuff kicks so much ass live. On the New York show... they play this song with lyrics like "Do your best, do what you can!" I searched the lyrics and didn't come up with what song they covered. It sounds pretty poppy/catchy a few powerchords style riff type thing. Maynard says the song is dedicated to.. Joey Addidi? Joey and Didi? I can't remember now, it's upstairs on my old computer, but it was bugging me where the song actually came from. |
it says DTS surround music on it, but thats like speaking spanish to me.
DTS discs are used to give high quality surround sound. They are most often used in Cinema's, to give the full surround sound effect. Without them, the movie will only play using the Center, Left and Right channels, and at a reduced quality. As far as I know, a DTS will not play in a standard CD player. It will possibly play in a DVD player, as long as the player has DTS capabilities (talk about stating the obvious  ). I would suggest you return the CD. |
Shadius, the only song that is MUCH better live is Triad. You could also make a case for Stinkfist, because they make it longer and more stylish.

Don't you Americans have something that you can complain to?.... Like some department to ensure that stores don't fool you into buying things?... .. If all else fails, sue them for eleventy billion dollars |
am gonna try, but I dont get YSI, its asks for your email and sht. It says nothing about posting were to upload something for a link, could someone please explain?
You don't need to put the email in. Just load the file, and click upload. How do you think that the people who upload get that window? |

I used to have an FYE here, but I never had any problem. One time I returned a CD to Best Buy a year after I bought it and they had no problem with it. :-/ |

That's a fan website, isn't it? I don't understand what's so funny.
That thing's been "incomplete" for a couple years now. |

That thing's been "incomplete" for a couple years now.
No that's actually his website, I'm pretty sure. And yah, he hasn't really updated it, except maybe 1 time. |
Oh, I always figured it was a fansite. I just remember being excited about it about 2 years ago, it seems like, and now it still hasn't opened. Pretty much lost its novelty, I think. :-/
|
I've never had any specific problem with FYE, other than the fact that every thing they sell is about 25% overpriced compared to the next expensive store, so I stopped going there after I bought Rage Against the Machine's S/T for 18 bucks. :-/
|
Yeah, they're incredibly over-priced. The best CD store around me is CD Werehouse, which is pretty decent. Mainly I use another source, though ;)
|
:upset: I wish that source worked better for me, but until then, I have Best Buy. I've been having great luck there lately. Other than the fact that they have a sparse Porcupine Tree collection, their cd selection is solid, and I haven't bought a cd from there for more than 15 bucks.
|
The main times I buy from Best Buy is when a new release comes out, because they often have them for $10 the first week they come out. :thumb:
Oh, and the source I was talking about wasn't slks. :) EDIT: Jesus, I hate it when MX suddenly messes up. |
Kage, do you have Radiohead's unplugged album? I just got it off Zmev and it's wonderful.
|
I sure don't. What is it called? I've got their live one, I Might Be Wrong, which is awesome.

Not sure what it's called, but it's just acoustical guitar with Yorke singing. Tracklist is: 1.Killer Cars 2.Wonderwall 3.Blowout 4.Streetspirit 5.Lucky 6.High and Dry 7.Motion Picture Soundtrack 8.Fake Plastic Trees 9.Black Star 10.Street Spirit(different version) 11.Subterranean Homesick Alien 12. Thinking About You |
I've only got OK Computer, and I decided that I'm not much of a Radiohead fan. I'm probably pre-judging them, but seeing as it's proclaimed as their their masterpeice, I kind of gave up on them.
|
Interesting. I've never heard of that. Just Thom Yorke with his guitar, huh? I heard a version of There There in that fasion, it was really cool. Different take without the auxillery percussion.
Thom Yorke is awesome as a rhythm guitarist. He always uses really interesting chords. EDIT: Jake, I was in the exact same position as you when I was first getting into Radiohead. A friend lent me OK Computer, and I was determined to find out what everyone thought was so great about this band. So I listened through OK computer at least five or six times...then it just suddenly hit me and I loved it. |
... ... You should YSI that
|
I'm addicted to 2+2=5 off of HTTT - Radiohead.

Here's the second version of Street Spirit:
http://s46.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1FLNCD8PN94PB2QZ2CJWJO0925 I might .rar all the files and YSI, but it might take a while. |
