That sucks man. It's unfortunate that she ruined some music for you (even though I'm sure you would hate Incubus anyway, it's just a shame that you had a close enough ties with her that you can't enjoy some things she liked without being reminded of her).

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-14-2005 04:04 PM

I like Incubus. They were like the second band I ever had an obsession with. All of their albums I have, I like. ACLotM being my favorite though.

ACLotM has a few strong tracks and a lot of mediocre ones in my opinion. The band is still good but they don't have the edge they had earlier in their career. I've always listened to them for their heavy/weird sound on Fungus Amongus and SCIENCE.

Have we talked about this before? I just had Deja Vu.
NIN > Tool
A while ago magicaltroll had told me that when he was depressed he was listening to The downward Spiral by NIN. Since then I've seen at least 3 other people mentioning in discussion concerning depression. Anyone else thinks so too? I couldnt get into it, plus the production is weird :(

clearvision 07-14-2005 04:09 PM

Incubus bring back painful memories of everyones relationships

*remembers when he made out most of the way through incubus' discography*
Chris- Were you like..In a rocket or wtf? That's a crapload of money.

Lunch- Yes, I was. Lunch looks like Lars Ulrich from far away.
I was late for my SAT's, so I was hauling ass. I was going 100mph in a 50 zone on some Amish road

The cop clocked me at 80mph going around a turn, but luckily he didnt show up at court and I got off clean.

Lunch 07-14-2005 04:11 PM

I guess I'm the only one who hasn't had precious/painful memories with Incubus involved.

ATM 07-14-2005 04:12 PM

My ex-gf loves Incubus, so now when I hear them I think of her.

Anyways, my uncle just showed me his keyboard. It seriously owns. He has a midi output that he plugs into his laptop, and has this program with all these effects. He even has a distorted guitar sound. He is going to mail me the program, and I am going to buy my own keyboard when I get home.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-14-2005 04:12 PM

Nope, I've not had my heart ripped out by a member of Incubus either. What emo mxers they are!

Oh, and their new single is very bland. :-/

Slug @ your ticket- Cool

EDIT. It seems like every girl I'm with has an 'album.' It's the album that I listen to a lot when I'm with that girl. By the time I get sick of the girl, I get sick of the album, so it works out well. Anyways, whenever I listen to Ænima by Tool, it reminds of this one girl I was with who more or less cheated on me. Kind of ironic that Ænima is a dipthong of the enema and anima. In case you don't know an enema is an anal probe. Very suiting for that caniving bitch

Illmatic 07-14-2005 04:27 PM

They're going to be in Chicago on October 7th? I believe...I dunno if I'm gonna go, though.

Not a very romantic album, I think.

WTF, Chris has over 100 more posts than me!

clearvision 07-14-2005 04:30 PM

I think it's a good breakup album, what with H and Push!t that can concern relationships and then theres some songs that are just angry; hooker with a peen, aenima etc

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-14-2005 04:30 PM

No, not romantic at all.

What Chris has over 4,000 posts than me!

Another ex-gf and I always listened to the Verve - Urban Hymns, so when I hear anything off of that I think of her :-/

'cause it's a bittersweet symphony, that's li-hife...try to make ends meet you're a slave to money and you di-hie...I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down...

I'm sorry, that was just mean.

Me and my current gf don't have a band or an album or a song, now that I think about it.

clearvision 07-14-2005 04:33 PM

 the music i was put through round my GF's house was pretty darn shocking so I don't get flashbacks...

(tha calling, MCR, *snooze*)

RCA 07-14-2005 04:35 PM

Serpent Temptation = best Incubus album >.> <.<

My ex was heavily into 80's pop.

What?

Oh, I get it now. I was thinking of why I'd never heard of it. :p

clearvision 07-14-2005 04:39 PM

I think they are a metal band of the same name...

I've seen this joke numerous times...

RCA 07-14-2005 04:40 PM
What?
There was a thrash band in the 80's with the same name. They were incredibly good.

ATM 07-14-2005 04:45 PM

My gf is into reggae, and stuff like RATM, Sublime, and Incubus.

Illmatic 07-14-2005 04:50 PM

My gf is mostly into classic rock/jam bands and jazz, and some new alt/indie stuff. We still don't have a song or anything, though.

ATM 07-14-2005 04:51 PM

I thought it was Jungle Love? ;)

I haven't seen my baby in 99 and one half days...

(I know how that feels :( /emo)

magicbus 07-14-2005 05:09 PM

It's from Usual Suspects, that is correct.

I'm about to put choclate syrup on my noodles, instead of pasta sauce. Any reason I shouldn't? I think it'll be alright.

EDIT: Yea, I guess I still do have my guitar.

ATM 07-14-2005 05:09 PM

That's weird that there is a UK and Aus community thread.

Lord Abortion 07-14-2005 05:12 PM

put the syrup on the noodles, man.. it'll be fine, trust me...
