There's no irony, unless "hot" and "small" are somehow anonyms.
If Eliminator Jr. likes the **** they might be :p

masada 08-15-2005 09:08 PM

Hmm, I'm going to have to think about this for a minute.. yeah, I think I'm wrong. But still, it's rather peculiar.

snidget 08-15-2005 09:11 PM

It doesn't really matter what the TV show is called. If it's on TV, there's going to be something hot on it

biografiend 08-15-2005 09:29 PM

I'm feeling very crafty today. I think I will go crochet a scarf for my friend who lives in Michigan.

masada 08-15-2005 09:47 PM

I like scarves.

Make me one.

Zappa 08-15-2005 10:05 PM

The album I've been working on is 15 tracks and 18 minutes long now. Really coming together.

Electrocution 08-15-2005 10:10 PM

What software do you use?

Zappa 08-15-2005 10:11 PM

CoolEdit Pro 2.0.

masada 08-15-2005 10:11 PM

I have a ghetto 4-track.

dkmaddog 08-15-2005 10:13 PM

As do I. I love the little bugger.

Electrocution 08-15-2005 10:14 PM

I wish I had the resources to set up a ghetto fab recording studio.

CarnageFairy 08-15-2005 10:14 PM

So I went to a friend of a friend's house yesterday and met a bunch of new people. As it turns out, one of these people was wearing the exact same shoe in the same size as me. Of course I didn't realize this until we had already taken our shoes off and they had been kicked around a bit. So now I may or may not be wearing one or both of some random guy's shoes.

I mean, seriously, WTF?

In other news; Bear Vs. Shark is probably the best band name ever.

masada 08-15-2005 10:19 PM
I wish I had the resources to set up a ghetto fab recording studio.
Mine is located in the dining room, with guitars laying on the floor and cables everywhere, and blank tapes. The only problem I have with the 4-track is that you can't overdub anything, and I have to go and buy microphones.

Other than that, it's crunk.

Zappa 08-15-2005 10:21 PM

I have a ton of keyboards (by that I mean around 8), and that's my main mode of recording. I hook them up to my soundcard and edit with the software. I also have a garage sale Aiwa microphone that I use for capturing the beauty of acoustic instruments (like my trumpet, and ocarinas, and my voice, etc.).

JonM 08-15-2005 10:39 PM

This is fucking weird.

Everyone is leaving. I had to say goodbye to a bunch of people tonight. Because of the pre-college chaos, my musical project with Mike is on indefinite hold because he's, well, going to Miami, and I have to get it together and write some half-decent vocals if we're going to have two songs done. My girlfriend just left the house, she's been gone for three weeks, and she leaves for school Friday, so we've got three more days. She's going to school near me (90 miles), but we're still not going to get to see each other much. I'm feeling funny, so I'm listening to music and planning on spending a while on MX venting to YOU!

But I wrote a neat-o little blues tonight, and I might try to record it tomorrow and post it up here.

Sorry about the long post.

masada 08-15-2005 10:46 PM

At the moment, I'm working on a 90 minute piece of music, filling up both sides of a cassete tape. The first, so far, is this droning, atonal mess, that really doesn't go anywhere. Out of nowhere, though, there's octave melodies and stuff like that, before it all goes back to droning/noise. I'm not quite sure what I want the second half to be yet, but I'm planning on doing it with trombone, piano, and some other instruments, and I want to make it like a classical-folk type piece, but there will still be traces of what was on the first half.

YDload 08-15-2005 10:51 PM

Does any band have better song titles than The Flaming Lips?

A.C. doesn't count of course, they're not even in the same LEAGUE :)

That doesn't sound like something I'd want to hear.

I don't think anyone would want to listen to that.

Mars Volta has much better song titles

Jacaranda 08-15-2005 11:03 PM

There songs are just like the titles bunch of mumbo jumbo thats hard to understand unless you are in Central America.
That doesn't sound like something I'd want to hear.
Yeah, but it's something to do.

Yea I know. It was a joke.

Zappa 08-15-2005 11:07 PM

I find that aspiring to some sort of standards makes the "something to do" a lot more fulfilling in the end.

masada 08-15-2005 11:12 PM

If I had more than just these two guitars, I would be doing a lot more. Even if I were able to overdub, it would make recording by myself a lot more enjoyable. The band I'm in hasn't even had a practice for two weeks. :upset:

Zappa 08-15-2005 11:13 PM

That's too bad.

masada 08-15-2005 11:14 PM

Mmhmm.

Jacaranda 08-15-2005 11:14 PM
Yea I know. It was a joke.
Ah, gotcha, I just had to show my distaste for them once more.

magicbus 08-15-2005 11:14 PM

Does anybody in here listen to Seu Jorge? More importantly, has anyone heard of him?

I wouldn't wanna hear that, no offence.
