did you cry?
that's disturbing. i would've passed out probably |
/copied from AIM
i was cutting someting in my dorm with a utility knife. it slipped and cur DEEP into my wrist. the bone was exposed. one of my tendons and an artery popped out and i was bleeding profusely. it was squirting out and stuff. my friend james across the hall called public safety (my school's 911) and they called an ambulance. so, i was escorted to the ambulance waiting in front of my dorm by 5 cops and a completely blood soaked rag over my wrist. everyone outside thought i attempted suicide and the cops did, too. finally, after waiting for 3 hours and my hand shaking, numb, and blue (yes, blue) from bloodloss (i was bleeding all over the floor; easily lost half a pint of blood), they stitched me up with 7 stitches. the doctor said i was the luckiest patient shes ever seen; fraction of an inch to the right and i would've hit my artery so i would've died in 10 minutes. fraction of an inch to the left and i would;ve severed my tendon so i wouldnt be able to move my wrist ever again (which means no bass or guitar...ever). now, everyone on campus thinks im the suicidal emo kid, i cant use my wrist for 2 weeks, im in a ****load of pain, and the school therapist/shrink is calling me to make an appointment because he thinks it was suicide and a cry for help...so yeah... ...I hate my life. I'm lucky to be alive. I'm typing with one hand. :( -Gav
That's why you cut AWAY from yourself, dumb shit. That's like running with scissors. |
I didn't read any of that but the last 2 paragraps.
I like Blink 182 but I didn't walk in here all "omfg blink is emo." I listened to Hot Cross and CTTS. So yeah...you can stop talking now because no one in this forum really likes you all that much. Yeah, I'm not going to start an argument with you. I don't even not like you. PS - Hardcore sucks; I listen to emo. It's different. -Gav
Emo is Hardcore, please don't say you think hardcore sucks but you listen to emo because Gav that is beyond retarded even if you don't like most straight hardcore. Stop giving Pixies random shit because he may be a pretentious ass but he seems to know his stuff with literature and has made some decent points. Wow, Scott. Thanks. I didn't work in a hardware store for 2 years or anything. :p I know how to use a utility knife. I used one everyday at work and always cut away from myself. I was cutting a circle and this time it just slipped; tangent line right off the circle into my wrist.
Emo is Hardcore, please don't say you think hardcore sucks but you listen to emo because Gav that is beyond retarded even if you don't like most straight hardcore.
Emo is a subgenre of hardcore. I don't have to like the main genre; and I don't. Deal with it. You can like a kid but not like the parent, fool. I like emo because it removes trivial, pointless BS in hardcore like the tough guy attitude and things of that nature but adds different stuff; a different type of passion (of course hardcore has passion but emo's passion is different), poetry (differs from hardcore lyrics/music because I can relate more), and an overall better musical structure (preferentially speaking). If I have to explain and defend my preference one more time, you're all getting banned. :p
Stop giving Pixies random shit because he may be a pretentious ass but he seems to know his stuff with literature and has made some decent points.
He made no decent points but neither did I, since it wasn't a full fledged argument...also, I don't give him crap first. He started it with an unfunny and dead joke and I came back so he got more defensive than I do. Also, if you think rambling on about Burroughs makes you "know [your] stuff with literature," I suggest you crack open a few more books. So yeah, Ben, stfu plz. lol that's ****ed up
for a kid with only one hand, you still seem to type a hell of a lot. :p |
^ She, my doctor, said she reexamined pics of the wrist's cut and one tendon is severed. It may not heal properly so I can't use it, hence, I can't play. I may need surgery, too.
so when do you find out if you need surgery? |
Hello emo fags
I'm 99% sure I am going to be doing a presentation informing and educating on real emotional hardcore. My speech is going to be next friday. I'm going to be covering the history and evolution and use sound samples. At the end I'll be reccommending fourfa and this forum as resources if the audience wants more info or recommendations. I'm going to be putting together a CD of samples, I know for sur eI'll be including Minor Threat, Embrace (as an example of the transition), Rites of Spring (maybe), Saetia, Neil Perry (for the combo of grind and emo) and Circle Takes the Square. Probably more, I need to look through my files and see what else I like. Anyone have any other reccomendations of must-hear emo bands that will help educate people? |
portraits of past
even though they aren't on the "official list" |
There's a bunch of lists a couple (maybe more than a couple) pages back that some people made that gives their view on the progression. Maybe check back there.

Speaking of, in a few days here im going to the mall ( its goin down) and im getting some blank Cds finally, and then Ill need somebody with a big emo library to send me the songs via AIM.
WHEN DID WE BEGIN?!?!
That song is so ridiculous sounding. I HAVE SEEN AN END TO YOU AND I The final 'BEGIN' sounds so raddddd though. |
ben: my hardcore listenings are primarily emo and melodic hardcore stuff. sometimes i'll throw on integrity or something but really not that often. i like pretty much all the bands that people post on in here, i just don't really listen to it.
i probably have most of the songs bob |
lolz my name is bob thats so funny
Aight, for future reference, whats your AIM? Ill splow a nigga up after i get the blanks. I listen to a little bit of hardcore here and there. Theres no band in particular I would really say I like, but most hardcore in general is just good enough for me to throw on. |
modern life is war, with honor, shai hulud, sinking ships, refused, and final fight are bands i really like and constantly listen to. then with less regularity i'll listen to black flag, minor threat, lion of judah, kid dynamite, comback kid, dangers, ect.

So yeah, Ben, stfu plz. -Gav
Gav maybe you get a jaded view of hardcore FSU out in Boston, but not all Hardcore is tough guy ****. I don't claim to be an expert on hardcore though it is probaly my favorite genre, but it seems that your view on hardcore appears to be that of Bridge 9/Rivalry bands and Tough Guy/Beat Down shit. Please do me a favor and don't tell attempt to educate me on a genre that I don't need education on, just because you like some shitty Italian/Swiss/(insert random European country) band with a 7" on Electric Human Project. So Gav, yeah, shut the fuck up please. :) |

Saetia was around during the screamo scene but they aren't screamo. Screamo needs a certain level of chaos that Saetia never achieves. |

Bob always gets what I mean and never fights. Cob for mod! -Gav |
why all the hate? we're all here for the same reason. everyone that posts in here consistently has a kind of good idea of what hardcore is in most forms, i'd hope and i do think.
from the last few times i've dropped in there's been more #1 bs in this forum then the hardcore/metalcore one. |
Backed.
Pixies and I are cool...we have been. "INCREASE THE PEACE!" - Cob -Gav |
I dont think I'd like being a mod, from all that Ive heard about it.
INCREASE THE PEACE EDIT: Beat. |
