Ok then, for my clarification, what do you consider the following bands? I'd like to hear everyone's opinion on this stuff.

Colin of Arabia
Death Before Dishonor
Shattered Realm
Municipial Waste (I know they're thrash, but pretend thrash metal doesn't exsist)
Clenched Fist
Botch
Cursed
Throwdown
The Warriors

shane italian 06-29-2005 09:46 AM

I just got back from water polo. 5:30 to 8:00. Dang.

I have to miss my game tonight too because of work.

nosirimnotoopythanksforasking 06-29-2005 09:47 AM

You had to wake up at 5:30 AM? That sucks HARD.

That is what I would say for those bands musically. Doesn't mean they can't have a cool attitude or be in a hardcore scene.

shane italian 06-29-2005 09:48 AM
You had to wake up at 5:30 AM? That sucks HARD.
And I have to do it everyday.

nosirimnotoopythanksforasking 06-29-2005 09:49 AM

Never heard CoA or Cursed? I knew Warriors would be a hard choice. I consider them hardcore, but my opinon tends to disagree with the general consensus. And DB4DH are metalcore? I don't think anyone agrees with that.

xcbmetalcorex 06-29-2005 09:49 AM

The Warriors are metalcore.

xcbmetalcorex 06-29-2005 09:50 AM

I'd go with hardcore for Cursed.

shane italian 06-29-2005 09:50 AM

Warriors is a hard choice because of their live sound...

xcbmetalcorex 06-29-2005 09:51 AM

Hahahha, Vendetta came out yesterday.

nosirimnotoopythanksforasking 06-29-2005 09:51 AM
Warriors is a hard choice because of their live sound...
The first EP is definatly hardcore.

nosirimnotoopythanksforasking 06-29-2005 09:52 AM
Hahahha, Vendetta came out yesterday.
Regardless of what everyone else thinks of them, I love them and Vendetta.

xcbmetalcorex 06-29-2005 09:57 AM

They're alright. They're good when you're angry. I heard Vendetta is better than Haymaker so I'll check it out.

Yeah, I like it a lot more. I do like Haymaker a lot too though. I got the leak for Vendetta a long time ago. I can send it to you if you want.

xcbmetalcorex 06-29-2005 10:01 AM

Thanks. Maybe later.

shane italian 06-29-2005 10:02 AM

I love Throwdown pre-Haymaker.

nosirimnotoopythanksforasking 06-29-2005 10:03 AM

I've only heard You Don't Have to be Blood to be Family, Vendetta, and Haymaker. Vendetta is my favorite of those.

nosirimnotoopythanksforasking 06-29-2005 10:08 AM

I'm gonna go take a shower because my hair is all greasey and I need to try to wake up.

40 oz 2 freedom 06-29-2005 10:10 AM

I'd say CoA are metalcore.

nosirimnotoopythanksforasking 06-29-2005 10:25 AM
I'd say CoA are metalcore.
I'd say that's a stretch, but I can definatly see why you'd say that. What do you think DB4DH are?

40 oz 2 freedom 06-29-2005 10:27 AM

Yeah CoA could go either way. DB4D are hardcore.

nosirimnotoopythanksforasking 06-29-2005 10:34 AM
Yeah CoA could go either way. DB4D are hardcore.
Definatly. I don't see why Shane would call them metalcore.

shane italian 06-29-2005 10:53 AM

Well it might be because I don't like Death Before Dishonor...but I still think they are a metalcore band.

nosirimnotoopythanksforasking 06-29-2005 10:56 AM

xcbmetalcorex 06-29-2005 10:57 AM

Bob Dylan is metalcore.

shane italian 06-29-2005 10:58 AM

Heavy vox mang.

xcbmetalcorex 06-29-2005 11:00 AM

SaveCBGB.org has announced a series of shows in honor of the legendary CBGB's nightclub. Among the band scheduled to play this August are 70s punk legends the Dead Boys, and performances by Gorilla Biscuits, and Circle Jerks as well as newer acts like Against Me and Thursday. The goal of the performances is to help generate support and momentum hopefully leading to a renewed lease. You can click Read More for the full list of acts.

The legendary NYC club which played home to bands like the Ramones, Patti Smith, Blondie, Television and literally hundreds of others artists through the years may be forced to close its doors. The situation arose due to a dispute with Bowery Residents Committee which holds a 45-year lease on the building. CBGB's is their lone commercial tenant; their rent feud dates back five years, when the committee went to court to collect more than $300,000 in back rent from the club. The Bowery Residents Committee which is 75% funded by the city of New York has listed the property on the Real Estate MLS for anyone else who wishes to rent 313 and 315 Bowery.

Confirmed CBGB's August Performances

* Adrenalin OD
* Against Me!
* Anti-Nowhere League
* Channel 3
* Circle Jerks
* Circle of Dead Children
* Dead Boys
* Gorilla Biscuits
* The Liars
* Living Color
* Peter and the Test Tube Babies
* Rana
* Sham 69 and Conflict
* Sick of it All
* Thursday
* Today Is The Day
* Warren Haynes with Government Mule

40 oz 2 freedom 06-29-2005 12:03 PM

I don't know, that'd be amazing, but it wouldn't be the same.

RetiredAt21 06-29-2005 12:03 PM

Holy crap, Circle of Dead Children and Gorilla Biscuits. I want to go and see them.

NewKindofArmy03 06-29-2005 12:26 PM
Tragedy have intense vocals. I guess they're metalcore now.
Tragedy aren't metalcore at all, they're a crusty hardcore band and lot's of crust bands have intense vocals.

EDIT: I didn't read the page before that comment, carry on.

NewKindofArmy03 06-29-2005 12:39 PM
I'd say CoA are metalcore.
No way. Have you heard the whole Illegal Exhibitions of Speed album? If so, I don't see how you can call it metalcore AT ALL. I wouldn't call DBD metalcore either.

I'm more with Oopy on this one, i'd call some of the bands he first mentioned metalcore, but if a band has a slight metal influence I don't call them metalcore off the bat. A ton of bands around now are metallic hardcore, doesn't make them metalcore.

40 oz 2 freedom 06-29-2005 12:44 PM

I've heard the whole album, I also said it could go either way. It could also just be called fast metallic hardcore. I didn't call DB4D metalcore.

RetiredAt21 06-29-2005 12:45 PM

What bands are we talking about?

40 oz 2 freedom 06-29-2005 12:46 PM

Colin of Arabia and Death Before Dishonor.

NewKindofArmy03 06-29-2005 01:00 PM

Yeah, I know you didn't call DBD metalcore, but Shane did.

That GB reunion is legit. I need to make a plan to get up there. It'd be the best show ever if GB, Circle Jerks, and SOIA were on the same show.

xcbmetalcorex 06-29-2005 01:04 PM

August Burns Red are officially the best band ever.

RetiredAt21 06-29-2005 01:17 PM

August Burns Red are a local band from xLancasterx. They are jerks. I don't like their music either.

You could probably take a bus to the City for like 15 bucks. Or even get someone to drive to a train station and pay like 15 bucks round trip for the train.
