Does MXaiden have a drummer?
not that i know of.
I personaly liked aces high by cob better than the origonal just because it was faster but the origonal was still good
I prefer the original, CoB vocals suck and will never match the mighty Bruce!

blue3 02-06-2006 02:43 AM

Well, I liked Bodom's version. The original is better though..

Apocalyptic Raids 02-06-2006 03:23 AM

Nothing touches the original.

I just like how they do the intro better. I guess I'm used to how they do it too, which isn't really any different from the Maiden version.

but we are talking about Aces High here >:[

Has anyone heard the IMBB version of The Wickerman?

It's the single version, so it has the "Thy will be done" backing vocal in the chorus.

The singer isn't too dissimilar to Blaze...the solo was a bit sloppy though.

Kind of on speeds of Aces High... Is the live version of Aces High (LAD) slower than the Powerslave version? Mainly the bit when the intro really kicks in, it just seems a lot slower or less energetic than on Powerslave, or is this just me? Its the same on both versions and the vinyl version so its not that.

Josh 02-06-2006 01:10 PM

OMG. i just realised we're past 16k posts in this thread. blackthorne got the 16000th one, or the 15999th reply, however you want to look at it.

Hehe...it is me :)

As for DOTR DVD, I've got it, and it's not as bad as they make out on there, with the editing. Apart from The Trooper (which is painfully quick edits) and Wildest Dreams the editing is slightly slower then RiR, although there's still not as much focus on the soloists as I'd like (close up of left hand all the way through the solo's please, thx :p)

However, I did find that the image, but not the sound, started to skip about 3/4 of the way through Brave New World, so it would freeze, then jump. It started to make me dizzy, so I switched over watching it on the 5.1 version for Paschendale onwards. I don't have a 5.1 system, so it sounded really odd...much less of Jannick and Dave a lot of Adrian. I'm guessing it's sound good in the 5.1 system.

I haven't watched the special features yet, I'll let you guys know when I see them.

crag 02-06-2006 03:59 PM

haha, i've got DOTR now and i watched the special features, very interesting stuff.

I agree with you Uber, the camera jumps about really quickly, twas rather annoying. awesome DVD though

ashman 02-06-2006 04:20 PM

I'm a fancy high paid student with 5.1 surround sound

It's gonna be freaking awesome.

crag 02-06-2006 04:29 PM

i don't even know if anything in my house has 5.1 capabilities, i'll need to do some researching.

ashman 02-06-2006 05:34 PM

It cost me ~£50 to get a 7.1 soundcard (Audigy 24 bit thingy  ) and a set of Creative 5.1 speakers. It's ace...:thumb:

Therefore;

England > Universe :p

Apparently, there are some problems with the DVD...don't know what exactly though...

-The Frank 02-07-2006 01:56 AM

^^^ ya, thats what i heard.....they're doing a giant recall

the_uber_penguin 02-07-2006 03:41 AM
^^^ ya, thats what i heard.....they're doing a giant recall
Is that from EMI or individual companies?

I can't find anything on that!

EDIT: And IMBB is down.

crag 02-07-2006 07:37 AM

 in DOTR Lord Of The Flies is played down 2 steps from the original.

-The Frank 02-07-2006 08:39 AM

haha, i think bruce handled LOTF pretty well. Have you got the live CD yet?

crag 02-07-2006 08:51 AM
haha, i think bruce handled LOTF pretty well. Have you got the live CD yet?
If you mean the DVD then yes, if you mean the CD then no.

It's very, very, very good. Dance Of Death and Paschendale are amazing.
 in DOTR Lord Of The Flies is played down 2 steps from the original.
Standard Tuning?

Sounds a tad bit tricky to play...

the_uber_penguin 02-07-2006 03:54 PM

They probably switched guitars, or something...

I don't think it's that difficult to switch, actually.

crag 02-07-2006 04:10 PM
They probably switched guitars, or something...

probably....

i'd like to know why they did it though. The only reason i can think is to make it easier for Bruce to sing it, but it's Bruce we're talking about here:confused:
